Nutrition for Arthritis

From Muriel Luedeman:

In my quest for things that address arthritis that is creeping into my body I am finding helps. I have gotten rid of some of the pain in my lower back, but arthritis is persistently invasive and very painful and debilitating for my hands, so I continue to search. As I come across remedies I pass them on to others in hopes of relieving their suffering as well.

Making changes in one’s diet is critical to solving all health problems.

Here are dietary recommendations from Prescription for Dietary Wellness, by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC:

Foods: apples, black cherries, celeriac, dandelion greens, fish oil, flaxseed oil, garlic, kelp, leafy greens lemons, papaya, parsley, pineapple, watercress.

Seasonings: cayenne pepper, ginger root, turmeric.

Nutrients: chondroitin, folic acid, glucosamine.

Avoid: caffeine, citrus fruits, (except lemon), dairy products, eggplant, eggs, fried foods, peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, processed foods, red meat, saturated fates, cooked or juiced spinach, tobacco.

Live Juice Therapy:

Vegetable Juices: Best: all leafy greens, celery root, kelp, watercress

Good: asparagus, barley grass, beet green, carrot, celery, cucumber,

cabbage, green bean, kale, onion, wheatgrass, sea vegetables,

sea cucumber.

Fruit Juices: Best: apple, black cherry, lemon, papaya, pineapple.

Good: grape, pear

Other Additions: Best: alfalfa, boswelia, garlic, dandelion, horsetail, turmeric, yucca (herbal
extracts). Also, omega-3 oil.

Good: borage, cat’s claw, cayenne, ginger, juniper, olive leaf extract,

parsley, pau d’arco (herbal extracts. Also, primrose oil.

There are many factors that contribute to health. Lack of exercise, and harboring toxic thoughts, which are a mental/spiritual issue, aggravate arthritis and all other health problems.

At my next Living Hope Health and Wellness Meeting, I will have more information for those who want answers and to change their lives. Lori Smith, of Oak Grove Restoration Branch will share information on how she got rid of over 30 pounds. There wasn’t enough time to show the video, “Eating” at the January meeting, so I will play a segment of that this time.

In March we plan to show a portion of Dr. Leaf’s video presentation, “Who Switched Off My Brain.” Dr. Leaf has studied the brain and how it functions for 25 years and she has accumulated a vast store of knowledge. She also demonstrated ways to reprogram and restore lost brain function.

It is my fervent prayer that as I find beneficial aids to reclaiming my own health, others will gain knowledge and encouragement, too.

If there are others who have had success with conquering arthritis or any other disorder, I welcome hearing from them and having them share their finds at my meetings. That is what the Living Hope Health and Wellness Meetings are all about. The next one is February 10th at 7pm at 2425 S. Chrysler.

We always do fabulous raw food dishes for sampling at the meetings. February I will feature apple cucumber salad. Recipes will be available. Hope to see you there.

If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.

Urgent Prayer Request for Lynne

My Friends,

I am so very blessed to know you all and to have the honor of associating with you all. If you are able to hold me up in prayer at this time I will be very grateful to you!!!

In May 2010 I was in a car accident. I was stopped at a red light and was hit from behind. I spent four months in chiropractic care and now have been in physical therapy for three months. I am seeing little improvement. Last week my daughter went to the hospital by ambulance due to a severe illness. She is okay now, but on that day I slipped and took a bad fall leaving me in more pain and several rotated ribs. . Today I saw my primary care doctor and she put me on a prescription pain killer and anti-inflammatory plus a steroid. I am having pain in my neck, back, sitting and my feet. Today my foot doctor told me that she can not help me anymore. My physical therapists also told me today that they are concerned that they can not do much more for me. And tomorrow I see a surgeon about having my gall bladder out. Hopefully this will be a great help in dealing with a digestive disorder I have. As you can see I am in need of a lot of prayer.

Please pray:
1. The steroids can make your immune system weak and possibly raise blood sugar levels. Mine is slightly high and is being managed by diet right now. Please pray that my blood sugar will be at normal levels, and that my immune system will be strong so that I will not get sick during this time.
2. Please pray that all the drugs and supplements my doctors are giving me will only do me good and no harm.
3 . Please pray that the MRI that my doctor order today will come back normal.
4. Please pray that my health care team will be inspired to know how to treat me at this time.
5. And most importantly please pray that God's healing power would immerse me and heal me in every way.

My testimony.

God rules in our lives. I believe the scriptures on Job teach us that even when the adversary afflicts us, God draws the line, and allows these trials to be an opportunity for us to mature into His image. Only a few weeks before this accident I wrote a song about restoration called "Here I Am." I had felt led to write a song a few years ago, but it was an absolute disaster so I gave up on it. But in early spring of 2010 I was motivated to try again while partnering with a ministry couple on a writing project. The song was inspired by a prophetic word I received while visiting a small ministry in a couple years back. I really felt the Holy Spirit lead me in writing this song, and I felt like I had accomplished what I had originally been led to do. My daughter, Sarah, wanted to be a part of it and wrote a melody and music for this song. Then I was invited to be a Presenter at the KCCM Awards in May. The accident was a week before the Awards. I went to the ceremony and the entire weekend seminar, in pain, not able to sit down because I knew God wanted me there. I covered the event as a journalist for my ministry, Dove Press. During that amazing experience I leaned a great deal from the awesome seminars that Connie Whitlock and her team put together. During a class a second song began to emerge. Because of my injuries it has been increasing difficult to write at the computer and go on interviews, which is why so little new information has appeared on Dove Press since last May. But, God has been blessing Sarah and I in our song writing. We now have 10 songs and are having a wonderful time. Several other members of our family are partnering with us in various ways. God has blessed me abundantly in the mist of the storm. If this accident had not happen I am not sure how my time would have been spent for most of last year. Even though a lot of my time is taken up with therapy and doctors visits, I am so grateful that I have been able to find this great gift with my daughter and that we have been able to spend so much time together and have grown even closer than we were before. We named our group Mavon - the songbirds of Zion. My mother was full French. Mavon was her maiden name, and it means "songbird." Four of our songs are being recorded at Air Digital Design by my son Jared, who works as a recording engineer. My husband Gary is building us a website for Mavon. When the songs are up I will send you all a link.

Thank-you all so much for your friendship and dedication to the only Living God, who is the God of Miracles and Life. I appreciate you all so much. I know that this storm of life will eventually pass and I will emerge a more fruitful woman for having had the experience.

Shalom and bless you all
Lynne

Australia Prayer Request

Dear friends,
If you haven't already heard, my home state of Queensland is in big trouble.
Over the past two months we have been hit with the whole country’s annual rain fall. An area the size of Texas is underwater, leaving thousands of people either homeless or stranded, power is out and the death toll keeps rising by the day.
Reports say that the down pour is expected to last till April. Our catchment areas south of the main flooding are already stated as being ‘120%’ full so there is only one place it can go ... right here in Brisbane! King tides are expected to hit us in the next few weeks.
I have family up north in Maryborough, Toowoomba and Gatton which have all been affected. Fortunately they have missed a lot of the flash flooding, but are now stuck with no way to get in or out as many of the roads are flooded or have simply disappeared.
The damage is expected to be vast and unfortunately even through this terrible time there are still low lives that have started looting the homes that are still above water :(
Not only will we be struggling to cope with the floods in terms of homeless families and ruined businesses, but the flow on effects on our economy are already starting to hit with food prices sky rocketing as most of it comes from Northern Queensland....
As Australians we are well aware of the harshness of the country in which we live but there is only so much we can take. Just two years ago bush fires wiped out a lot of Victoria (South Australia) and we were put on heavy water restrictions during 2000-2010 because of drought. Enough is enough, we need a miracle.
Please keep us in your prayers. Pray that the rain stops, the rebuilding of lives is swift, that those who have lost loved ones are comforted and for us to use this tragedy as a way to get closer to our neighbours and closer to our Lord. If even the winds and sea obey Him I am certain the rain clouds would too.
Thanking you :)

"Shelf Reliance" party

Hello Everyone!

I know you have been hearing from me a lot lately, however.......

I am sending something to you that may seem strange coming from someone who teaches about organic raw food, and how important it is.

Enclosed is a copy of an invitation to my home on Tuesday, January 18 at 7 p.m. It is in regard to a "Shelf Reliance" party that is all about food storage.

The reason I am sending this to you is because we may all have a situation in the future where we may need such supplies in our home whether from a natural disaster or from the loss of income.

It is true that these foods are not YET organic (they are looking into it), however they not only deal with dehydrated, but freeze dried foods that have an amazing shelf life, looks like the real thing with all the beautiful color, tastes like the real thing. They are non-GMO foods.

Shelf Reliance has an wonderful shelving system that automatically rotates for you so you can use them everyday, and you won't wake up one day (like I have in the past) and find some of your cans have exploded because they were in storage too long, and you forgot about them.

The other exceptional thing about this company is that once you purchase you will ALWAYS get the discounted price - they also have a way of accumulating what you want, and sending those things to you monthly in the order you want them.

They also have other non-food items that are good to have in case of an emergency. This is why this party is not a "girl party" - it is designed for both men and women - husbands and wives.

Again, fresh, organic food is primary, and should be your focus, but do not forget to plan for the unexpected.

Please RSVP me by Wednesday, January 12 whether or not you can attend. It will be up in the ballroom, unless too many people say yes, and it needs to be moved into the chapel

These are fun get-togethers, and food is prepared so you can taste some of the products.

I am really looking forward to this so I hope you can make it

Until then,

Paula
