Senior Caregiver

Do your loved ones need assistance? God has given me a heart for seniors and I love helping them. I have been a home-mom since 1994 but my daughters are now in or graduated from college.

In the interim years I was a caregiver for my former mother-in-law for six years until her passing. I have also assisted my husband's former in-laws, and references are available. Care includes transportation, light house cleaning and fixing meals. I would love to help your loved ones and I am available Tuesdays through Fridays or will assist as needed.

You may contact me through e-mail at terrigard@sbcglobal.net or 816-220-0730.

Blue Prints for the Holy Temple in Israel

Read the complete article and view the video at:

NOW PRESENTING
The Greatest Progress Toward the Rebuilding of the Holy Temple in Modern History: Blueprints for The Holy Temple

Blueprints and Computer Animation of the Sanhedrin Chamber of Hewn Stone

In his recent USA speaking engagement tour, (January 2011), Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute revealed to the public for the very first time detailed construction plans for the Chamber of Hewn Stone: the seat of the Great Sanhedrin which is a central component of the Holy Temple complex on the Temple Mount. These complete and highly intricate plans constitute the first stage of an historical undertaking of the Temple Institute: the drafting of blueprints for the entire Holy Temple complex. These plans, drawn up by a top Israeli architectural firm hired by the Temple Institute, take into account the specific requirements of the Sanhedrin assembly hall, known historically as the Chamber of Hewn Stone. At the same time these plans incorporate modern technological infrastructure necessary to a twenty-first century facility: this includes internet ports, wireless communications systems, computer data storage, elevators, air conditioning and underground parking. All these modern amenities, and many more, have been integrated into the Sanhedrin structure without compromising the integrity of the great assembly's physical or spiritual character.

Bobbie Jo Brooker Update

For those of you following Bobbie Jo Brooker after her boating accident.

My daughter went to see Bobbie on Friday. She looks completely normal (and beautiful) except for a bandage on her arm and being more still and quiet than usual. ;-)

She is at home and getting out for therapy and appointments.

She will be returning to school soon for a couple hours a day to start.

Her family is so proud of her, and thankful.

God Bless

Prayer Request

Terry Cooper's son, John, has had a heart attack and is being life-flighted to a hospital in Peoria. Urgent prayers are needed.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Please add Tim Carter and his family to your list. He couldn't get work in Michigan after getting his Masters degree, so Samaritan's Purse needed someone in Africa again. Since he has been there we understand that he has been offered an engineering job. As far as I know, he hasn't made a decision as to whether to take it or not. He is in Kenya. Kenya is a big country. but he is only 60 miles from the Somaila border (lots of trouble going on there). A bodyguard has been ordered for him. Please ask people to pray for his correct decision and safety.

UPDATE
This is from teenager Hannah Lowry about her recent life saving procedure
Okay so Dr. Chris Morris showed up and he listened to my heart like the doctor does everyday when they come in here. Then he got up and said that I might be able to be discharged on (T plus 21) and if not then, then on (T plus 25) as long as I drink my liquids and eat my food. They took me off the IV pole and now I’m completely and entirely excited. I love my new Bone Marrow. My nails are still neon colors and I’m still bald. My last dose of MTX (tiny dose of chemotherapy) didn’t really do anything to my counts because my Bone Marrow was like “What’s this.” and sent some fighters off to get rid of it.

*Relief Spark is a non-denominational, faith-based, all volunteer non-profit group, started in L.A. by Sidney Ray to relieve the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. She was able to collect $3 million and 350 pallets of goods to send to New Orleans in a matter of days.

Her group still has a presence in New Orleans helping the reconstruction effort and now they have a base camp in Joplin. Sidney is originally from Springfield, MO and has had a long association with Joplin through high school athletics. Relief Spark will continue to assist Joplin in their recovery as long as donations and volunteers are there to support the effort.

100% of all donations to Joplin go to the relief work there. All Relief Spark workers are volunteers including Sidney ray, the founder/director.

Church of Jesus Christ (Bickertonites) Visit Independence

Announcement

The meeting is informational only.

The Church of Jesus Christ (Bickertonites) Visit Independence

On Saturday evening September 17th at 6:00 PM the Zarahemla Branch (502 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs, MO) is hosting a presentation by the Church of Jesus Christ (Bickertonites) to share with the saints of the Restoration Branches about this portion of the Restoration. They will inform us about their heritage, what they are doing today in the mission field as well as share some of their wonderfully inspired hymns. They are believers in and supporters of the Angel Message and like us they yearn and long for the redemption of Zion and the gathering of the House of Israel.

This is not a proselytizing effort but rather a bridge building activity. All are invited to come and meet these Brethren as they give expression to the Marvelous Work and a Wonder that one day all the Restoration may be healed and we can become one people.

Hope for the Children of Honduras

Dear Friends,

We live in a time when there are many needs in the world. Our eyes and ears are bombarded daily, often hourly, with pleas for help. It has become difficult for families living in one of the most blessed countries, the United States, to keep up with necessities of life. Though difficult it may seem at times for those fortunate to live in the United States, children in Third World countries like Honduras (the second poorest country in Central America) have little hope for the future to change their level of living. More than half of the children in Honduras have little opportunity to attend school - most attain no higher than a 4th grade education. Teachers in Honduras also have little opportunity to advance their education beyond a 7- 8th grade level. Rural communities rarely have teachers available for a school and transportation to neighboring schools is out of the question. Many children do not attend school, but work to obtain an income for their family.

Friends United, an all-volunteer not-for-profit, came into existence 24 years ago as a result of a pen-pal program between a rural school in Honduras and an elementary school in Independence. Over the years, Friends United blossomed into an organization which provides training for teachers in Honduras, teaching aids, school supplies for the children and much more. "Teachers Helping Teachers" became the motto for Friends United who develops and conducts seminars which are held in both the United States and in Honduras. The organization has provided thousands of dollars in donated school supplies yearly for the children of Honduras as well as teacher resource materials. Traveling Classrooms (trunks containing lesson plans, teacher aids and supplies), Libraries and Resource Rooms strategically located throughout Honduras assist teachers who have little to work with in their bare classrooms. Working tours to Honduras coordinated through Friends United provide much needed man-power to assist with maintenance and repairs to existing classrooms to enhance the learning environment. Although Friends United has received a few grants, individual and/or group donations supplemented by their primary fund-raising event - Gala and Silent Auction - are its main sources of funding.

You can explore further the outreach that Friends United is making in the lives of the children of Honduras by visiting their website:

http://www.friendsunitedinc.org/index.html

If you would like to help Friends United in its quest to offer hope for the future of the children of Honduras through a better education, you can do so by contacting me via email or phone (816) 796-4094. How can you help?

1) Donation of an item or items to be used in the Silent or Live Auction (request new or nearly new condition)
Items in past auctions included but not limited to: entertainment and travel packages; KC Chiefs/Royals tickets; gift baskets; gift certificates; quilts; small tables and assorted decor items; art/sculpture; home maintenance service; cameras; computers; power tools; Christmas ideas ...the list is endless (Value range $35 - $2,000+)

2) Purchase of ticket(s) to the Gala/Silent Auction, November 12, 2011 ($35/per person)

3) Check made payable to Friends United, PO Box 52, Independence, MO 64051

4) Forwarding this email to friends and family

A tax receipt will be issued for all contributions.

Friends United will host the Gala--a banquet, silent and live auctions in Independence, Missouri, on November 12, 2011, 5:30 pm at
Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.

300 RLDS Books on Sale!

ORDER NOW WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

$2.00 Books, $5.00 Books, $10.00 Books, and $20.00 Books

Sale prices are good until December 21, 2011, or while supplies last.

Go to Oldbookman.us or RLDSBooks.blogspot.com to see the lists.

Free Items

The following three items are free to anyone who would like to take them (provided they have a use for them and are not going to scrap them). A photo of each item is attached. To claim these items, you must email me at zioncools@sbcglobal.net to arrange pick-up (ideally this would be some time on Friday, 9/9/2011 sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., at my home at 316 N. River, Independence, MO 64050).

Item 1:
Singer commercial sewing maching, unknown age (maybe from 1950), with treadle-operated electric motor, table, and some (maybe all) accessories. The motor ran 10 years ago when we bought it. It has been in attic storage ever since. I cannot guarantee it still works. It at least needs a new belt.

Item 2:
Singer home sewing machine, electric, smaller model (maybe a model 99, maybe circa 1930), without its case. Probably was once in a wooden case, because part of the case is still attached to the machine. There is an electric motor controller attached to the machine and a power cord. I don't know if any of it works.

Item 3:
Nikon N75 film SLR camera with 70-300mm Nikkor zoom lens, and all applicable accessories. Electronically controlled, auto-focus camera. This was the last Nikon entry-level film SLR. It is in mint condition and works perfectly. It has shot maybe two dozen rolls of film since I bought it in 2005. It came in a kit which also included a 28-80mm lens which I no longer have, but the kit cost about $550. I have no use for it since I don't want to develop film.

Thanks!

Book of Mormon Foundation Booth

The Book of Mormon Foundation is sponsoring their annual booth at the Santi-Cali-Gon Days Festival in Independence, from noon Friday 9/2 through Monday 9/5. We learned tonight that Paul Trask (or some organization that he’s associated with) has also gotten a booth almost right next door to the Book of Mormon Foundation’s booth. Paul Trask is ex-RLDS and aggressively anti-RLDS, and spoke to one of our members this evening trying to convince her that she is in a “cult”. He is surely trying to use this location not only to counteract the message of the Book of Mormon, but may also try to proselytize our youth who are manning the booth.

I would urgently solicit your prayers for this situation and for those who will be helping at the booth this year, that the truth will prevail and confound the voice of the accusers. Pray that this attack of the adversary will be turned to a blessing, that more people than ever may be motivated to come to the Book of Mormon booth and ask questions, and that the Spirit will direct their answers with inspiration and kindness.

Those who have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon are invited to come to the Book of Mormon Foundation booth this weekend and support your brothers and sisters. I would especially encourage those who have the ability and knowledge to answer the ex-RLDS accusations -- come and visit the booth when you can, in case the ex-RLDS group tries to come over and make trouble. The BOMF booth is located at the corner of Main and Maple, next to the Independence Courthouse.

Thank you,
Jon Tandy

Volunteer Week, September 26 – October 1, 2011

Please pass this along on Face book, Twitter, and to organizations!

Donations welcome, not only from individuals with used goods, but new, large items like refrigerators, washers and dryers. We suggest people ask their home churches for an offering to purchase these items or use their available relief funds to purchase them. Gift cards for Home Depot would be the easiest way to handle large, new items. Make checks payable to Relief Spark. No donation is too small. Every little bit helps to make up a large provision, and God will multiply and magnify it all.

Relief Spark is a non-denominational, faith based, all volunteer, non-profit that has a base camp at Ground Zero in Joplin and plans to stay as long as there is a need. It has a six year track record of relief projects, assisting New Orleans in its recovery from Katrina. Relief Spark depends solely on donations of funds, goods, time and skills of individuals, businesses, and churches and civic organizations across the country. Check out www.reliefspark.org for their history and regular updates on their projects.
