Prayer Request

There was an auto accident involving Graceland students early Saturday morning. Two students were killed, including the cousin of a friend (Davita Haynes) of mine. Please remember the family of Cheyeanna Boonstra, one of the students who was killed. As I was getting ready to send this I got word that Davita's dear dad just passed away. This family needs mighty prayer.

Bill Kidd is suffering with serious back problems and needs relief.

Barbara Gates will be having hip surgery (the 6th one on this hip) tomorrow.

Clyde Ruiz needs prayers for prostrate cancer.

Clyde Johnson's lung situation is deteriorating.

From Barbara Giertz and Bob Giertz,
Kassidy Giertz, our 16 yr-old granddaughter has been dealing with a severe lung infection for some time. It appears to be resolved and then she has relapses. The symptoms include debilitating weakness, paleness, pain in her neck, head and chest. She has missed a lot of school time seeing multiple physicians. Many tests have been run and still no definitive answers. Pray for direction for the physicians that their skills will be focused and resolve Kassidy's illness.

Updates
Little Eli Sherer came home from the hospital today, still needing prayers for a complete healing.

Patti Frye was released from the hospital today. She will be under a doctors care for about 6 months and still needs our prayers.

PRAY FOR THE KINGDOM

Pray for the Kingdom is an opportunity for the Saints to put into practice the instruction of Jesus Christ to pray, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is done in heaven."

We in the Restoration are promised that Zion will be, but we are also given responsibility to assist in its establishment. No matter where we are--geographically, spiritually, organizationally, or otherwise--we can all pray. And there is great power in united prayer.

The major feature of the Pray for the Kingdom website is a Daily Prayer Time Chart with 48 time slots of 30 minutes each. When each slot is filled with one or more names, we have the potential of praying around the clock for the Kingdom of God.

The Saints are invited to choose their times, to commit to praying daily expressly for the Kingdom, and to register that commitment to let others know they are willing to work together for a common goal.

Check out
prayforthekingdom.blogspot.com for more information and to determine if you would like to join with hundreds and perhaps thousands of Saints in daily prayer for the coming of the Kingdom of God.
This is a NEW site, and you can be among the first to register your commitment to pray daily for the Kingdom.

Please copy and paste this invitation into a message to send to your friends or make an announcement for the bulletin board at your church.

Dear Messiah Choir Saints

The last notification of any news that you received was dated April 18, 2011. As we’re drawing closer to our wondrous event, we have some more important information for you. J

As you may be aware, the newest LDS Temple located in Clay County will be having many important events transpiring the months of March and April 2012. Out of consideration for some of our choir members, musicians, congregational participants, and our most accomplished choir director we have needed to move back our date so that all of the Restoration Family may be able to participate in this most exciting event.

The new date for the Messiah on the Square at Stone Church will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 7 pm. Unless something unforeseen like a meteorite strike should occur, we will be performing and participating in the entire Messiah Chorus including strings with small orchestra and exceptional soloists. We know that this date sounds so far away from now, but it really isn’t. Why look at how fast this year has flown by!

So here is a quick recap of what is slated for our wondrous event:

Performance Date: Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Stone Church at 7 p.m.

Choir Director & Musician Conductor: Sister Alice Beebe

Soloists: There will be soloists for those magnificent parts that only a lone voice can spiritually invoke. Paulette Votava-Resch has agreed to be the 1st Soprano Soloist. We have some ideas of those who have exceptional solo voices as well as Paulette’s for the Alto, Tenor, and Base selections.

Musicians: John Davies has agreed to play the beautiful pipe organ. And if this is the 2 ½ score then there will need to be others to assist him in playing as well. There will be a small orchestra too. This is in the process of being orchestrated so to speak!

Core Choir: There will be a core choir that will be singing the more difficult selections with the congregation listening. Mrs. Beebe will most likely want to have some type of audition since the choir section can be smaller than the usual size with the congregation being participants. Again, there will be needed rehearsals prior to the performance. These will need to be mandatory practices so that the choir is strong enough to do its part of leading the congregation and holding its own on the more difficult selections.

Please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail us anytime at the numbers listed below. Aren’t you excited? I know I am! J

In the bonds of eternal truth,
-always, Robyn Mun aka “gopher” (go for this, go for that J)

Pro-Life Blog

Brothers and Sisters,

Life is something that is in desperate need of being protected. Our government isn't doing the job and we need to step in, not only to fight them, but also to help those facing that decision in the mean time. For that reason, I have created a blog that does both. Through this blog, I let readers know about things they can be a part of to help with the fight for life. The main reason for the blog though is to share stories of those who have faced that crucial decision and made a choice one way or the other. I have had people share stories where they have had an abortion and deeply regretted it and stories of people who have been pushed to have an abortion and chosen life. Many of the stories people send me leave me in tears. You can read more about my blog here
http://rachelsvoiceblog.blogspot.com/p/about-rachels-voice.html.
This outlines what Rachel's Voice is all about.

If you would be willing to share your story, please contact me. I would also love it if you would pass this along to your friends and family. I pray that these stories can be used as a means to save at least one life. If you don't have time to read any other part of the blog, the video found here
http://rachelsvoiceblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/180.html
is a must see. It's 33 minutes that will change your life. I know it's long, but find the time. Skip dinner, go to bed late, miss your daily shower, do whatever it takes to watch this video. It's one that everyone needs to see.

Your sister in Christ,
Jessica Holmes

Best Fundraiser Ever!!!

How many times have you donated to a fundraiser and felt that you received very little value for your donation? Well I am working on a fundraiser for a kids fitness charity. They are partnered with United Way and it is designed to fight childhood obesity. Here is the best part. Your $20 donation gets $200 back, through the Hotel Savings Cash Card. You get a card that gets you onto the website and you can book hotels for as much as 60% off what you will find on Expedia and other travel sights. In additiion, you can use your savings cash on rental cars, movie tickets, restaurant gift cards, online merchandise and much more. Believe me when I tell you that you are gonna want this card. They will also make great Christmas gifts. Imagine getting your Christmas shopping done in one shot. When have you ever seen a fundraiser that gives you back $200 for a $20 donation and you get to help kids in the process.

Call Stu for details 816-739-6759. You'll be glad that you did.

Also, if you belong to an organization that would like to do a great fundraiser, give me a call.

Prayer Request

I have a friend that is very depressed he told me he thinks God hates him. He lost a loved one Friday. He came home from work to find his dog twisted and choked to death on its leash. He lives by himself and is a diabetic. I am very concerned for his well being. His name is Ron Adams. Could you please add him in your prayers. I also pray that I can get him to go to church with me this coming Sunday.

Thank you.
