Greetings to the Saints Around the World
A very outstanding Sacrament of the Lord's supper was held at Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch this morning, April 2, 2017. It followed an equally outstanding service of Prayer and Testimony.
The services were sponsored by the Pastors of Zion, (POZ). This is a group consisting of 10-14 Branches in the Independence, Missouri area. This morning there were at least 11 Branches represented by their pastor and a number of others from those and other Branches. The attendance of about 435 was some indication of the interest in this service and in the desire to come together as a part of "The Body of Christ." Elder Jon Tandy, pastor at Waldo presided over the Prayer and Testimony service and was assisted by Elder Ken Schmidt, pastor at Living Hope, and Elder Larry Hodges, pastor at Outreach.
Elder Dayn Cederstrom, Chair of the POZ presided over the Sacrament Service and was assisted by a number of other pastors and ministers. Twenty or more men of the Priesthood served the congregation. The Sacrament Message was given by Elder Jason Howard, pastor at Atherton RB. Special music was provided by Brother Bob Davis at the organ, Brother David Guthrie at the piano and organ, and a choir that was formed for this service. The choir was very ably directed by Elder Steve Ballantyne. The second song by the choir was a special rendition of a long time favorite of the Saints, "The Spirit of God Like a Fire is Burning." The last verse was the usual rendition with the congregation standing and joining the choir.
The service was live streamed and can be viewed on the Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch website.
Forward to 13:00 to begin the service.
