C.U.R.E. = Center for Urban Renewal and Education

Dear Saints,

There is a movement in the Black community which needs our support, the creation of private Christian schools in inner city churches. 70 percent of Blacks want school choice and Christian values taught to their children. Please pray for the success of this effort.

I also urge you to watch and listen to Star Parker, the founder of C.U.R.E. Center for Urban Renewal and Education. Listen to her video messages and let her bring you hope for all Americans. She flatly states that the single cause of the demise of families is government welfare. The welfare mantra is "Don't work. Don't save. Don't get married."

Star is not the only Black conservative. 35 percent of Black Americans are Evangelical conservatives. They need and deserve our support and encouragement as they attempt to get their message out of repentance and revival to thwart the extreme left who are forcing revenge and redistribution on the Black community.

We need to stand together in prayer and action with our faithful Black brothers and sisters to put God and the Bible back into our children's education and daily life.

I am working with the Jackson County Republican Committee to provide ways we all can assist the inner city in their work of reclaiming their lives and families.

See link for more information on Star Parker:

I am assisting an older couple from our congregation with downsizing. The wife is now in a memory care unit and her husband is going through the entire house in preparation to sell. I am sorting through a tremendous amount of sewing material and various craft items such as ribbon, lace, binding, etc., (11 boxes worth). The husband is offering this for free if the individual will make a donation to the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program (REAP). There is too much to take pictures but please, if you are interested, just give me a call and we can talk about what I have.

Thesis Research on Autism

Restorationists:

I am finishing a graduate degree in autism, and am into the research and thesis phase of the degree. I am needing children with autism to take part in my research. The time requirement should be less than 30 minutes, the research is completely non-invasive, and it could yield important information about how these children process sensory information. The testing site is in Independence. If you have a child with autism, I would love to talk with you about the research; if you know families with autistic individuals, I would very much appreciate your passing this information along to them.

Thank you!

the TRUTH of ALL Things - From the House of Bread

OAKMAN THOUGHTS FOR TODAY: 10/30/2017

Melchisedec Lectures October 11, 1966 - continued -
Arthur A. Oakman

There may be a reflection of the divine light, beautiful, as
we said last night, from saintly men who study the life of
Christ from a distance and who try to practice the principles
of Saintliness. But, reflected light isn't sunlight. We are
called upon as men of ministry as there dwells in us authentically
the revelation of Jesus Christ that demonstration of righteousness.
From whence shall we draw our sustenance, brethren. Again let
me quote for you from all my being, and hear this, "Ye are not
sent forth to be taught, but to teach the things that I have
put into your hands by the power of my spirit and ye shall be
taught from on high." No man can receive a revelation for
somebody else, it is impossible. Revelation is an intentionally
personal thing between man and his God. He may receive revelation
through someone else, but if there is in him, in you no
answering spirit to discuss the word of God how shall you know
that it is the word of God and shall you know that you have
been taught from on high.

So God in Section 108 of the Doctrine and Covenants talks about
angels flying in the midst of heaven and somehow men on earth
catching the echoes of their ministry and repeating on earth what
they overhear coming from above. Read section 108. The elders came
to Joseph Smith and wanted to know about preaching, what they should preach.
Read section 108, it is the Lord's answer to their query what they
should preach and it is altogether unlike what we are doing today
almost as day light is from dark.

Our church faces the dilemma should we be secularized, { we are already there }
shall be abandon the principle of power which comes from above, shall we
rely upon the wisdom of man or upon the power of God. You know the
answer to that. The Apostle Paul states it quite plainly, your faith
should not stand in the wisdom of man. He might as well said cannot
stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. These powers
are yours brethren, when you are committed to the work of God and
when no turning back for you, and when there is no way that
the Almighty can reach you through His servants which are
upon the earth, then you may rest assured that you shall by
His servants which are in heaven. Many of you can
testify that is true, I am sure.

{Comments and the remains of the day:
In true apostolic and prophetic voice,
Bro. Oakman not only warns of what awaits
this church and every presence of it in every
dispensation and wherever it is and has been found;
as well as what shall befall each and every assembly of
Saints, whether in heaven or on earth ( did not
a third of the host of heaven fall?); all because
of apostasy and the wandering of and to the left
because of pride, ambition, ego, and yes becoming
secularized and standing in and upon the wisdom of
men. In fact, this truth also applies to every nation,
kindred, tongue, and people who ever where, who are, and who ever
shall be. And our condemnation and damnation is solely
our own doing, speaking both collectively and individually.

And because this applies to every kindred, nation, tongue, and
people, how much more does it apply to every group, factions,
and fraction in our midst. CRE, POZ, COC, JCRB, Remnant, Utah,
Temple Lot and all the rest. The disciples of old asked Jesus
for a sign and the understanding to understand the signs of His
coming. How much the spiritual wickedness in high places of
each group has to learn that Jesus will only honor all they
who seek HIM in humility and earnest and sincere Zion seeking
prayer. Now we have some who question that some of what the Lord
gave long ago, may not be in force these days? - Really?
Through Israel this truth was given, our proximity to Zion
and of Zion is and has been and will always be in direct
relationship and proportion to the spiritual condition of us
and the church. Of course, now because of the wisdom of men
we have this as the "presence" of the Church today:
CRE, POZ, COC, JCRB, Remnant, Utah, Temple Lot and all the rest.
To all they (individually) who truly seek to live and be and
have being within the Law of the Lord, these are they who shall be
spared and the promise has been given and is very much still
in force:
"And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at
that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost;
And if they endure unto the end, they shall be lifted up at the
last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb;"

The day and time for many to assist is passed, but some of the above now
say and teach, well maybe the time for that is passed or does nor apply
any more. And you know, what does our spiritual condition have to do
with it anyway, that was for then and maybe it is not for now. All of this
wisdom of men, from all of the listed groups, is about two or three words
away from:
"For it shall come to pass in that day, that the churches which are
built up, and not unto the Lord, when the one shall say unto the other,
Behold, I, I am the Lord's; and the other shall say, I, I am the Lord's.
And thus shall every one say, that hath built up churches, and not unto the Lord;
And they shall contend one with another; and their priests shall contend
one with another; and they shall teach with their learning, and
deny the Holy Ghost, which giveth utterance.
And they deny the power of God, the Holy One of Israel; and they say unto
the people, Hearken unto us, and hear ye our precept;
For behold, there is no God to-day, for the Lord and the Redeemer hath done
his work, and he hath given his power unto men.
Behold, hearken ye unto my precept: if they shall say there is a
miracle wrought, by the hand of the Lord, believe it not; for this
day he is not a God of miracles; he hath done his work.
Yea, and there shall be many which shall say, Eat, drink, and be merry,
for to-morrow we die: and it shall be well with us.
And there shall also be many which shall say, Eat, drink, and be merry;
nevertheless, fear God, he will justify in committing a little sin:
yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words,
dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this.
And do all these things, for to-morrow we die; and if it so be that we
are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we
shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
Yea, and there shall be many which shall teach after this manner, false,
and vain, and foolish doctrines, and shall be puffed up in their hearts,
and shall seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and
their works shall be in the dark; and the blood of the saints shall
cry from the ground against them.
Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted."

Nephi's words and revelation and prophetic voice.

No wonder, in the days of Noah, he repented that God had made man, even:
"And it repented Noah and his heart was pained, that the Lord had
made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart."

Jesus has given the remedy and the heavens resound with His voice:
repent, for the Day of the Lord is nigh at hand.}

Pastors of Zion (POZ) Sunday Night Service

Dear Saints,

I personally felt that the Pastors of Zion, Fifth Sunday service, October 29, 2017 was a mountain top experience. Elders Joe Burkart, Grain Valley, Ed Story, Oak Grove, Elzy Lasley, Living Hope, James Loumiet, Waldo, Jason Howard, Atherton, and Dayn Cederstrom, Chair of the POZ each shared a dynamic testimony of the Lord's working in their lives. The service was held at Waldo Avenue RB and was live-streamed. It can be viewed by going to:

Men's Prayer Breakfast: Saturday November 4, 2017

Men's Prayer Breakfast: Saturday November 4, 2017

To the faithful Priesthood of the Restoration Branches / Groups
I am writing to remind you about our November 5, 2017 meeting that will be held at: 4:00 p.m.
Farview Restoration Branch Church
1104 E 24 Street S
Independence, MO 64052
(24 and Vermont)

Farview will be having their Men’s breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. on that day – even if you are fasting for the meeting it is a great way to fellowship. There have been great conversations during this time of fellowship.

Agenda:
8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Men’s breakfast / pre fellowship (great blueberry pancakes and fellowship!)

9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Prayer & Testimony - Lasting as long as the Spirit leads us then moving into the classes.
10 a.m. – 11:30 Class 1 – The Melchisedec Covenant
11:35 – 1:00 p.m. Class 2 / TBD

When we come together we are incredibly blessed by the Spirit and many have borne testimony to that fact! I believe it is because we come truly seeking a common understanding of the scripture.
The purpose of the CPR (Concerned Priesthood of the Restoration) is simple in that we do not promote, endorse or adhere to any Faction or group, but we are Priesthood that feel the need to hold on to the basic principles as when the RLDS Church was established and have been lost. There is a real need within the Priesthood body to understand the Gospel in relationship to the Latter Day times and events and how we can move ourselves to being open for Endowment type of experiences and to bring a ministry to those in the outlying areas. Also
Today, more than ever, we need to come together and learn from each other so that we may be worthy servants. None are perfect but we are working out our salvation every day.
Guidance from the Book of Mormon – isn’t this true in this day also?

AUSTRALIAN RESTORATION NEWS NOVEMBER, 2017

Around and About the Centre Place
by High Priest Paul J. Gage, Independence, Missouri

November greetings to all the wonderful Saints in the land down under. It is hard to believe that we only have two more months in 2017. This has certainly been a most unusual year, at least in the USA, in many ways. As a singing group, years ago, sang, "For the times, they are a changing." The one area in our lives that should only change for the better and grow stronger every day, is our relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. As long as we work diligently to keep that relationship steadfast and sure, we can handle what the adversary and/or the world throws at us. We have a hymn entitled, "O God, Our Help, in ages past, our Hope for years to come." speaks of time as an ever rolling stream that carries everything away. But our hope is in Jesus Christ and He has a plan for all of us, while on this earth, and in the here-after. Another hymn, "Father, When In Love to Thee," speaks of time- that is, our stewardship of time. It asks God to forgive us for the "times we've stood, for the things of lesser good. And for stewardship of time, we have spent, unlinked with thine." Many times, we all complain, and say, "I don't have enough time!" I have heard several references to Elbert A. Smith and Arthur Oakman, who, when men of the priesthood complained about working all day and coming home to take care of things around the house, and so forth. The response was, All those men you work with have the same obligations you have, and they still find time to go to the bars, sports events, etc. My brother, Bert, in Oklahoma, always says, "People do what they want to do." And I say, AMEN. If I don't want to go to church, the slightest little thing can keep me away. On the other hand, if I want to go to church, there is essentially nothing, within my own power and agency, that can keep me away. Some will say, "Yes, that's ok, for you, but you don't know my circumstances. That is totally true, BUT God knows your circumstances and another line of that hymn states, "In the midst of sin and strife, teach us how to live a life, marked by graces of new birth. Worthy of Thy Saints on earth." Fall events are taking place around the Centre area. Each weekend in October and up into November, young people of various ages came together at Odessa Hills Campgrounds near Odessa, Missouri. These campgrounds are owned and operated by the ten Restoration Branches that make up the Central Missouri area. There will be a nice article in the next Tidings about the campgrounds. Issue # 121 October/November/December, 2017 Tidings of Zion is at the printers and hopefully will be in the homes by mid to late November. It will contain a number of testimonies from men who were at Kirtland, Ohio for the CRE Priesthood Retreat in September. There will also be a good article about the Women's Council Retreat, also in September. The CRE has started a monthly Tidings of Zion. It was started in August, 2017 and is only on line. You can download, or read each issue as it is posted on the CRE website, eldersconference.org. The purpose of the monthly Tidings is to help keep the CRE in closer contact with the Saints around the world. I sent the October issue out October 19th, but several came back from Australia. If you have e-mail and did not get the October issue, let me know. The months of January, May, July, and October all have five Sundays. The Pastors of Zion (POZ) host a 5th Sunday Service at Waldo Avenue RB. The next one will be October 29, 2017. It will be live streamed and you can watch as it happens, if you want to stay up that late, or watch it later. All the Sunday morning services at Waldo are live streamed, as well as several other branches. You can generally go to the website of any branch by typing in the name of the branch and location. A great number of Restoration Branches have websites. The service on October 29th is to feature several different pastors as they share their testimonies. Center Place Restoration School, (CPRS) is off to a good start in another school year. The enrollment in K-12 is about 175 students. it is one of the very few Christian schools still operating in the Independence area. The Missionary Boards are all functioning well and have missions planned for the first part of 2018. The SEAAM Board has two new members. They are Jenna Clark Gowen and Jeff Morrison. Jenna attends the Oak Grove, MO RB and Jeff attends Atherton, MO RB. With several contacts having been made between myself, Tom Rindels, Peter Archer, Murray Broughton, and Noel Rowlatt, current plans are for Elders Tom Rindels and Kevin Humphrey, both from Missionary RB in Sibley, MO to come to Australia in February for an extended stay of 2-3 months. All the details have yet to be determined.

May the Lord be with you and keep you in His arms of Love.

RESTORATION CHURCH BEWARE!! by Bro.Gary Rowlatt, Kingston Branch, Australia.

The Restoration Church emerged out of the Reorganized Church. The majority of the Restoration members were formally members of the Reorganized Church. As such, some will still adhere to one or more beliefs which has caused the Reorganized Church to fall into apostasy. It is possible for these individuals to proclaim such practices and endeavour to have them incorporated into the beliefs of the Restored Church.

Beware of sheep in wolves’ clothing. Often a particular belief seems right in the individual’s mind because they do not have sufficient knowledge surrounding the origin of that practice.

I am delighted to hear people praying for a healing. It shows that they believe in God and are communicating with Him. YES! God WILL answer your prayer but He does not accept an ultimatum. We cannot dictate the terms of the prayer. Often it may be a gradual process, or take a long time. We have to be patient and accept the method God chooses to answer prayer. This is faith. 1: Faith that God will answer our prayer; 2: Faith that the method God uses to answer our prayer is best for us and the recipient. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1 The same applies to prayer.

In 1972-3 our youngest son became extremely ill. He would fill up with fluid as his kidneys were not working. He had nephrotic syndrome – a condition which in those days was not known. As a result there was not a cure. Many people both in the Church and non-members alike kept praying for him. The doctors tried various procedures. This would cause the fluid to pass in a matter of hours and he would be just skin over bone. This went on for 18 months. Blowing up like a balloon then reducing to a skeleton. Many asked, “Why doesn’t God answer our prayer?” Finally at Christmas time, the Specialist Doctor said, “Take him home and love him as you will not have him after New Year”. Much prayer was continually being raised up to God asking for an intervention. When the New Year came, our son was still alive and starting to blow up again. Our doctor said, “Would you be willing to try a new drug used on cancer patients? It has never been used for this problem”. Prognosis – he could lose all his hair; he could be unable to ever have a family; he might not grow any more; or he could die (Without the treatment he would certainly die). However he will have NO immune system.”

There was really no choice. We said, “Go ahead with the treatment”.

After numerous occasions of nursing him in the hospital, this was the final choice. We all continued to pray.

The following days and weeks were extremely tense. Eventually his body returned to normal and there were no more signs of the illness. GOD HAD ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS.

Our prayers were not answered immediately. We had to be patient. We had to learn that there were several parts to the answer.

1: Our son was cured from the disease. 2: We had to wait to see the prayer answered on the side effects . Year by year the prayer was fulfilled. He grew. With no immune system for 4 years he eventually was able to go to school. When he reached teen-age, he started to grow whiskers and hair under arms. God now made it possible for him to have a family (which he now has and enjoys life as normal). No, God didn’t give us ONE blessing – He gave us many but it was spread over time.

Don’t be impatient with God. Don’t demand how He answers prayer. Examine why you are praying.

Psalms 18: “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, for he is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid… I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God; he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him even into his ears.”

Rom:1 “I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.” ****************

Riches From The Scriptures. Chapter 11 by Elder Neil Kerswell, Queensland, Australia.

God can Deliver His People: Part 1

When we are faced with the various challenges of life it is always good to be able to bring to mind times when God has blessed and protected his people from similar situations, the scriptures are full of such examples and strengthen our faith. 2 Kings 6:8-23 God Protects His People by opening their Spiritual Eyes [2 Kings 6:8] Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. [2 Kings 6:9] And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. [2 Kings 6:10] And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. [2 Kings 6:11] Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel? [2 Kings 6:12] And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. [2 Kings 6:13] And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. [2 Kings 6:14] Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host; and they came by night, and compassed the city about. [2 Kings 6:15] And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, a host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! How shall we do? [2 Kings 6:16] And he answered, Fear not; for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. [2 Kings 6:17] And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. [2 Kings 6:18] And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. [2 Kings 6:19] And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city; follow me; and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. [2 Kings 6:20] And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. [2 Kings 6:21] And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? Shall I smite them? [2 Kings 6:22] And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them; wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. [2 Kings 6:23] And he prepared great provision for them; and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel. The King of Syria wanted to overcome Israel in battle and no doubt was skilled in the art of war to be bold enough to make such attempts. Israel however had a true prophet Elisha in their midst who was open to God’s leadings and heard His voice. What’s more the King of Israel, unlike most leadership throughout the world today was willing to listen and take action according to the spiritual advice given, allowing them many times to evade the snares and traps placed before them. Unable to accept the events that unfolded as divine or even coincidence the King of Syria, suspected he had a spy in their midst. The fame of Elisha had spread and one of the Kings servants was able to set him straight. The King sent a force to get this Elisha, once again thinking from his experience in the natural world (overcome overpower). Elisha’s servant and friend was able to see the great host that was more than capable under normal circumstances to utterly destroy them. Elisha in earlier times however had received a double portion of God’s blessing and was equipped with faith and the spiritual eyes to see and comprehend God’s power and presence all around them and prayed that God might also open the eyes of his friend to see with spiritual eyes (spiritual is a term that is very loosely used throughout the world today and in the media no doubt being an attempt from satan to reduce its meaning and truth, by not relating it to God). The young man must have been overwhelmed with relief to know for sure, Elisha was right and they, which were with us, were truly greater than they that are with them. Just as Spiritual eyes were being opened, the enemy’s physical eyes were being closed according to Elisha’s prayer, what wisdom, removing the need for bloodshed at that time. Elisha went further and showed mercy instead of allowing them to be slain by the king of Israel and his men. Instructed that they be given food and water and sent them home as a witness to the King of Syria not to meddle with Israel anymore. The enemy was delivered into their hands, however God’s ways prevailed (love your enemy). Bringing blessings of safety and life on both sides for a time. We don’t know what challenges await us in the future or what we shall be called to endure for the Lord’s names sake. This incredible experience is a faith strengthened to believe that God is the same unchangeable God and is able to cause two to put their thousands to flight if the need arises. God is no respecter of persons and can do this for you too. 2 Chron 20:10-26 God delivers his people without a fight [2 Chronicles 20:10] And now, behold, the children of Ammon, and Moab, and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and destroyed them not; [2 Chronicles 20:11] Behold, they reward us not, but have come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. [2 Chronicles 20:12] O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon thee. [2 Chronicles 20:13] And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. [2 Chronicles 20:14] Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; [2 Chronicles 20:15] And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. [2 Chronicles 20:16] Tomorrow go ye down against them; behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

[2 Chronicles 20:17] Ye shall not go to fight in this day; set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them; for the Lord will be with you. [2 Chronicles 20:18] And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. [2 Chronicles 20:19] And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high. [2 Chronicles 20:20] And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. [2 Chronicles 20:21] And when he had consulted with the people he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever. [2 Chronicles 20:22] And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. [2 Chronicles 20:23] For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them; and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another. [2 Chronicles 20:24] And when Judah came toward the watchtower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. [2 Chronicles 20:25] And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. [2 Chronicles 20:26] And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord; therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. The lesson we can learn from this experience is that even when the enemy seems overwhelming and an impossible contest to win. This is the very time we need to be on our knees before God in humility. Looking for the true movement of God’s Spirit to occur. In this instance it came through Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, when all the people were gathered and petitioning God as one. ([Sec 6:15b] Where two or three are gathered together in my name, as touching one thing, behold, there will I be in the midst of them; even so am I in the midst of you.) No doubt God had prepared Jahaziel in the time leading up to this witness, moving upon him, calling him to repentance and prayer allowing his Temple (body) to be a house for the Holy Ghost to speak through that day to the edifying of all God’s chosen people. When experiences like this occur it is not just coincidence who God uses to minister, it is Holy preparation finding opportunity in the Lord. God would love it if we all were prepared at all times to do as He leads according to His gifts unto us. God spoke through Jahaziel and told them the battle was not theirs but God’s. How often do we human beings need to be reminded of this Great Truth? King Jehoshaphat did well as a leader and encouraged his people to believe and trust in God and they would be established, believe also in the words of God’s Prophets and they would prosper. God then caused that the enemy should destroy themselves leaving none to escape and riches to be gathered by His people. What a turn of events. What a call to faith for all of us today. God is capable of doing His own Work, in His own Time, in the Place of His choosing. So often within the Restoration God’s people have ceased to trust Him. Taking the battle into their own hands, this always ends up in frustration and further decay and sickness within the body of Christ. None of us of our own strength and thinking can make the right choices, because as already discussed in other times, every one of us fall short of the Glory of God and therefore need to give Christ His proper place within our lives and the lives of His people. When the need arises and God’s people come in Humility before Him, repentant, faithful, driven by Love, mutually thinking of their brothers and sisters more highly than themselves, seeking God’s will and not our own, willing to listen and to allow God to do His own Work. We can be assured God will hear and answer our collective prayers and if necessary put to Flight the enemy no matter how many they are and what weapons they possess. [Sec 71:2g] Verily thus saith the Lord unto you, There is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and if any man lift his voice against you, he shall be confounded in mine own due time; wherefore, keep these commandments: they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.

Testimony by Sr, Helen Archer.

Last week the Lord blessed me. I think when he does we should tell about our blessing.

My husband Peter had borrowed a tool, a small drill bit to be precise so you know the size. He had borrowed it from a company where he buys tools for his lathe. The night before he said “remind me in the morning to give it to you so you can take it straight back for me.” In the morning he went and got it and I put it in a safe place where I could see it. I had to go down town to do other things as well. I did some chores and then set out to go down town. Peter was working out the back in the heat so I came back to give him a drink.

When I began to gather my things again, I couldn't find the drill bit. It wasn’t in the place that I had put it in the morning. I thought I remembered it being in my hand when I was going before I decided to give Peter a drink. Well I looked high and low over and over again. Went out to the car and looked, remembering I had taken some garbage out and went and checked in there. Then I got down on my knees and prayed. Peter said I thought you had gone and I told him what had happened. It was not good to lose something that was borrowed. I kept getting led to go to the garbage. I had mowed the lawn earlier that morning too. So when I was walking back from the garbage bin my eyes looked down near the drivers side of the car and there it was. Had I not mowed the lawn that morning I probably would not have been able to see it. I was so thankful. I went and thanked my Heavenly Father for answering my prayer.

Sharing Your Testimony of Jesus

From: Francis Harper
wbfrmsup@iowatelecom.net

Sharing Your Testimony of Jesus

Dear Ones,

Those who have a testimony of Jesus are obligated to share it. If we truly have a testimony of Jesus, we will share it, by word and deed! I love the words of the psalmist, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Psalm 107:2).

Jesus taught: “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of the heart bringeth forth evil things. And again I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12).

Our words are important. They are not only heard by our family, friends, neighbors and fellow workers, they are also heard and recorded in heaven! “Then they that feared [love] the Lord spake often one to another; and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him” (Malachi 3:16-17).

Two teenage girls were sitting on blanket at a Woodbine reunion many years ago. One of the girls told an off-color joke, or story. Her companion scolded her for telling it. In her defense, the story-teller said, “We are alone.” Her friend said, “Jesus is always with us and hears everything we say.” At this point the one who had spoken so foolishly, said, ‘If he is always with us, I will take his picture!” She pointed her camera upward and snapped a picture. When the photograph was developed, the face and head of Jesus could be seen in the configuration of leaves in the tree above where the girls had been sitting. There are at least three eye-witnesses, who saw that photograph, who are still living today.

What do we talk about when we meet with family, friends and acquaintances, day by day? Weather? Sports? Markets? World conditions? Family? Gossip? Or a testimony of Jesus?

The Lord will give us testimonies if we diligently seek for them. He will give us opportunities to share our testimonies. He will also give us the wisdom and ability to convey a timely, appropriate word to those who need to hear it. I often think of words recorded in Isaiah 50:4, “The Lord hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season unto thee . . . He waketh morning by morning, mine ear to hear as the learned.” We need to pray for these blessings.

Our testimonies must be supported by a godly life. A cousin, who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, told of a man who served with him, who was constantly talking about Jesus, but was derelict in his duties. His witnessing was ineffective.

A patriarch in our area suggested we all write a thirty-second testimony of Jesus; being “ready always to give an answer with meekness and fear to every man that asketh of you a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). A short, concise testimony, accompanied by the Spirit, can lead a friend to the Lord.

I was impressed with this testimony: “ I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and my life flows out of that relationship. His life, death, resurrection, has changed my life forever, and has filled my life with meaning, purpose, love, hope, joy, peace and freedom” (Kari Swenson, 25, Des Moines, Iowa, Des Moines Register, December 15, 2007).

“If we expect to inherit celestial glory, we must be valiant in testimony” (Doctrine and Covenants, 76:6g).

My love to all,
Francis Harper

Francis Harper Message for 10/27/17

The Testimony of Jesus

“I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus; worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10).

From the beginning the prophets prophesied of Jesus. The testimony of Jesus was the spirit; or the theme of prophecy. Even as we sing, “. . . the Savior is the theme . . .”

The words of Jesus spoken to the disciples on the road to Emmaus were also directed to those of us who call ourselves his disciples today. He said, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! . . . And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:24-26 IV; 24:25-27 KJV).

Jesus began by reminding his disciples of the great prophecy of Moses, received from God as they conversed “face to face” (Deuteronomy 5:4). “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth . . . Whosoever will hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19). The Prophet, the Messiah, would be like Moses. I have counted 33 similarities in the lives of Moses and Jesus. Both were Israelites; both lived in Egypt; both were lawgivers; and the list goes on. A careful study of the lives of Moses and Jesus will prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Jesus is indeed the great Prophet like Moses, unto whom we must hearken.

Anyone with even a minimal knowledge of the life of Jesus will be able to readily recognize how accurately the Old Testament prophets prophesied of Jesus, even to the smallest details, such as his birth in Bethlehem (Micah 5:1) to his coming into Jerusalem, riding upon a donkey colt (Zechariah 9:9).

Anyone with even the slightest desire to know the truth and who is willing to study the words of Isaiah 53 should be convinced that Jesus is our Savior! “. . . he is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief . . . he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities . . . and with his stripes we are healed . . . he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter . . . He was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” (Isaiah 53:2-12). How can we not be moved by these words? We should fall on our knees and pray for his forgiveness!

Would Jesus chasten us today as he chastised his disciples on the road to Emmaus? Are we also among the “fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken?”

We need to ask ourselves, “Is my testimony of Jesus as strong as it should be?” If Jesus asked us personally, at this moment, “Who do you say I am,” what would our answer be? Would it be the same as Peter’s, who quickly answered, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God?” (Matthew 16). Would it be worthy of his commendation? Would he say, “Blessed art thou (your name) for flesh and blood hath not revealed this unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven?”

We have a living God who is anxious to give each of us an unshakable, undeniable testimony of Jesus, if we seek and ask for this great blessing. Jesus promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against his church, if the members of his church have a testimony of Jesus, revealed from heaven!

Prayers on October 24, 2017 at the Temple Lot on the anniversary of Orson Hyde's prayer

Prayers on October 24, 2017 at the Temple Lot on the anniversary of Orson Hyde's prayer given October 24, 1841

Dear All,

My wife Pam and I prayed on the Temple Lot early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, beginning at 5:30 a.m. My oldest brother Jim joined us. Then, beginning at 6 a.m., Pam and I met with members of a prayer group who have been meeting most every morning since mid-2015 to pray on or near the Temple Lot.

Tuesday (the 24th) was the anniversary date of the prayer Orson Hyde offered over Jerusalem in 1841 for the gathering of the house of Israel. I went to the Temple Lot this past Tuesday in response to a call to present the report I had written about the prayers I had been called to offer on the southern shore of Lake Victoria this past January 17 and 18. An electronic copy of my report, which I shared with the prayer group, is available in the following post:

http://www.hisworkmanship.net/prayers-healing-gathering-house-israel/

Tuesday morning (October 24) I sensed a great blessing was granted. As I prayed on my knees on that sacred ground, my thoughts were directed back to a special light from heaven which I was shown in vision in 1994 while presiding over a prayer meeting. The vision was recorded in the following article.

http://www.hisworkmanship.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Phm21MarchingToZion03Mar08.pdf

It is my present understanding that the events I was shown back then were begun in earnest this past Tuesday morning. And now the rest of the vision will soon follow as described in the linked study letter.

To be clear, I believe we are now in the midst of the dark night I was shown, in which a heavy darkness is pressing upon the Lord’s people and the peoples of the earth as a whole. It is a darkness I understand we have been under for some time. I do not know the timing of all things, but I understand that the prayer I offered Tuesday morning on the Temple Lot and those I offered in January were joined together with Orson Hyde’s prayer – see “The Orson Hyde Connection” in the linked report for more details.

Will the complete gathering of all the tribes of Israel take as much time as it took between the time Orson Hyde prayed and the time the state of Israel was finally established (as my son asked)? Or will it occur much more quickly now that the state of Israel has been established, principally by the gathering in of a remnant of the house of Judah? I do not know for sure.

What I do understand clearly is that the light of God’s word has pierced the dark night surrounding us, and in the coming days the light will begin to grow as there are a faithful few who begin to take heart and stand with uplifted hands and turn and face the darkness in prayer and praise. As they do, light will begin to increase and angels will begin to pour out of heaven to reap a harvest of souls; at what rate, I do not know, but I saw them come flooding down the column of light at an incredible speed and number. (See the linked study letter for details.)

Also, how long the transition period will be before the walls of fire around Zion will be fully erected and afterwards a highway of fire is set up for the redeemed of the Lord to come to Zion, I do not know. At the same time, I must also say that I would not be surprised if it occurred in such a manner as to take many by surprise. Still, as it is written, all they that wait upon the Lord will receive strength, and we will need strength to endure possibly more dark days ahead if more are yet to come before the dawning of the new day.

To what degree the principle that Zion is no closer or further away than the spiritual condition of God’s people justifies is still in force, I do not know. It may still be in full force. Or perhaps the principle that the time for many to serve has passed is the principle that is more fully in force at this time because the work is now moving forward very determinedly.

I am not sure of where we are in all the governing principles declared by the Lord in times past, but I feel that we are now moving fully under the latter principle because of what I saw in vision in 1994. There was a very small number of people in the Center Place at first. Then the number grew as individuals repented and joined the body in honor and obedience to the Lamb Victorious.

It appears to me that presently both troubling and glorious days lie ahead of us.

God’s richest blessings in Jesus Christ our Lord to each of you and your families as we face these days together,

Dwight Burford

Need Shelter

Need Shelter

We are going to be homeless as of 11/14/17. Does anyone know someone who can help us? We need a 2-3 bedroom. I have an interview on 30th and need urgent prayers to receive a job offer. I am unable to get unemployment and I haven't got any money, so the person able to help us will need to know that. I will make everything right moneywise as soon as I am employed.

Once again, we are seeking everyone's help in trying to find new addresses for the following people. What will help the most, is a new address rather than a reference.
