the TRUTH of ALL Things - From the House of Bread

"As It Was in the Days of Noah ••• "
A Word of Warning by Arthur A. Oakman
October 15, 1938

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be. ---Matthew 24:37.

This is a day of tremendous possibilities. Never at
any time before has knowledge been so wide or deep as it is now.
In every realm of the outer world men have extended their
conquest of physical substance. Wind and tide,
heaven and earth, atom and universe, have yielded up
their treasures to the ceaseless search for power.
We have built dams, our bridges and our aircraft.
We have released energy that has been for generations
locked in substances which a few years ago were not discovered.
The possibilities that lie in these achievements are enormous.
If we use our powers with good will toward all, nothing
but mutual benefit can come to men and nations.
If, however, we use these achievements in the spirit
of fear and hate, then destruction awaits us; and
the very discoveries become a means of cursing instead
of blessing. Bacon once said that knowledge was power:
but the ultimate significance in the possession of
knowledge and power lies in the purposes for which it is
gained, and the ends to which it is devoted.
Knowledge of physical substances is the servant of men
for good or for ill. It is impervious to moral issues,
and it is in the moral realm that today we must work out our salvation.

The dominion which has been given to man over the
outer world is entirely secondary to the dominion which
it is intended by Divinity he should achieve within himself.
The record of our ability to keep the peace with
each other is lamentable. We have yet to learn how to win
the kind of warfare that will insure peace. Knowledge in
the moral realm is not easily gained, and when it is,
it is diffused with difficulty. Prophet-souls have arisen
in history who have seen the destruction that awaits the
people of wickedness, and the peace that is dependent
upon righteousness. Most of these men have lost their lives
in an attempt to educate the public conscience. There is
a kind of moral blindness which prevents people from seeing
the consequences of their acts. And, it is not unusual
to find this blindness of mind co-existent with the
highest culture. Nineveh and Tyre, the glory that was
Greece and Rome are dust. Any peace that was ever
given them was transient. Their culture did not save
them because the forces in which they trusted cheated them.
When fear and hate, envy and malice dominate the social order
as they do today, any ray of light wrested by men of science
from the physical world serves only to intensify the gloom.
"The light in them is darkness ;" We dare not be deceived by
our physical accomplishments. The lull of carnal security
is the breath of spiritual death. Even now there lives
within the fabric of our society the seeds of destruction.

{comments and the remains of the day:

From 1938, as WWII looms upon the world's horizon,
and He who knows all speaks through His servant
that apostolic and prophetic voice, which Bro. Oakman
has aforetime wrote of:
"Prophecy," said one man, is the ability to look forwards into the past... "
Bishop Butler said that prophecy was "History written aforetime;"

Isaiah states this Eternal truth in his day:
"Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done, saying,
My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure; "

Bro. Oakman, in the midst of the church and an institution in
which the seeds and tares of apostasy are being "officially"
planted and cultivated, and within some of the men at that day
who carry the seed of those who further lead what remains of the
"official institution" of this day - do I say in the plural sense?, they of the
CRE, COC, POZ, JCRB, Remnant, Temple Lot, Utah, and all the rest,
in the paths of apostasy still; Bro. Oakman responds to the
Holy Ghost to plead with they of that day, and to us of our day,
to consider our ways.
How many wicked generations must be, before the Love of the Truth
finds its way to be paramount, especially among they of the "church?"
And just as it was in the days of Noah,
few there be that listened and fewer still they who gave heed
and they jeered and sneered and shut their ears to hear. Today,
there are those who simply un-subscribe or turn a deaf ear of
which is the same response as all they who drowned in the
flood. The Lord has said:
"And righteousness and truth will I cause to sweep the earth as
with a flood, to gather out mine own elect from the four quarters
of the earth, unto a place which I shall prepare; an holy city,
that my people may gird up their loins, and be looking forth
for the time of my coming; for there shall be my tabernacle,
and it shall be called Zion; a New Jerusalem."

The flood will NOT be water, rather it shall be that flood of
righteousness and TRUTH which shall sweep away and purge and rid and
cleanse from every sinful and wicked heart and all they who profess the Lord,
but know him not [ Sec. 105 ] and that they would repent and return unto
the God of our Fathers (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob); the God of Lehi and Nephi;
and the God who so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son.

What evil designs existed in the hearts of men in our land in 1938,
pales in comparison as to what lies within the dark recesses of
many who would seek our demise, destruction, bondage, and slavery.
Enemies both within and without our land and government.
With multiple layers of justice and law, how shall the
faithful long endure or survive, save our righteousness
exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees?

An early patriot declared: "Give me liberty or give me death"
Where are the faithful whose hearts desire is the
Kingdom of God? When shall their voice be heard and their
efforts of righteousness be found?

How long shall the corruption in our nation of they who
are the elite and "leaders" of factions and fractions remain
unrepentant or continue to lead astray and to you who allow
them to lead you astray be satisfied with the wisdom of men?

How was it in the days of Noah? Look around, you won't see
a big boat, even though the conditions warrant it. What you will
see, in far too many; and that is of they who are or are in the church;
are hearts that have waxed cold, hearts that are hardened to the
Truth as it is found in Jesus Christ; and their love is more of themselves
than the Zion of God.

Come quickly Lord Jesus !}
