Servants of Honor Camp 2019 June 2-8
Ages 12-18 or 19 if just graduated.
We were created to be in the presence of God. He designed us to be there. It is his stated purpose that we should have immortality and eternal life with him. After the fall of Adam, Christ covenanted with the Father to restore us to that possibility if we would love and serve only God. The blessings of the atonement covenant are the foundation of every other blessing and covenant that affects our lives. We will study the blessings of covenant and just who we were meant to be this week. We will have opportunities to witness our covenant with God as we serve our community and our fellow campers. We look forward to seeing you there.
To God be the glory!! Betty Vickery

Dear Friends,
We would like to share the most recent newsletter with you so you can see the wonderful things that ARE happening at the Hope Restoration Youth Home.
Recently, you have also probably gotten news of the terrible tragedy in Mozambique. The Cyclone in March that devastated many villages there. In Randy Vick's recent trip there, he came across 3 brothers that have literally lost EVERYTHING.
Junior Domingos Age 12
Maninho Domingos Age 9
and Zinho Domingos Age 6
These boys have lost their home and every living relative. Junior a 12 year old little boy is left to take care of his two brothers.
Pictured are Junior and Zinho, and as you can see, the light in their eyes is almost out!
Will you partner with us and help us to bring these children to the orphanage where they can rest and be little boys again? By bringing them to the orphanage they will again be safe and we can provide all the necessities of life including school and a LOVING family.
We are anticipating some Legal costs to bring them from Mozambique to Malawi as well as travel expenses.
We need to raise $2,500.00 to cover the cost of bringing them to the orphanage and sponsor them for a year.
Please feel free to contact us by email or call Penny Curtis (816-682-3205) OR you can simply sending funds to: P.O. Box 108 Independence Mo 64051
Pay Pal is also available through our website.

Dr. Norman Meinecke Nelson, age 94, the son of Alma and Tony Johannah (Meinecke) Nelson, was born August 20, 1924, at the family farm in Guilford, Missouri. He died at his Lamoni, Iowa home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
Norman grew up and attended school in Nodaway County, Missouri graduating from Guilford High School in 1942. He served in the Medical Corps of the United States Army at the end of WWII. Upon returning home he earned his associates degree at Graceland College in Lamoni, and then graduated from Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Missouri. He received his master’s degree in agronomy from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa where the Boraxo Company sponsored his soil research in cornfields. He taught chemistry and agronomy at Graceland College until leaving to pursue a degree in medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa in 1964. He did his internship and residency at Kansas City General Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. After completion, he joined Drs. Gamet and Swanson in the family medical practice in Lamoni. He retired from the clinic in 1997, but continued helping patients by serving on medical missionary trips. In 2004, at age 80, he quit going to medical meetings.
On February 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Arladine Adams at Guilford, Missouri. They were blessed with three children, Robert “Bob” and David were born in Ames, Iowa and Nancy was born in Independence, Missouri. Norman and Arladine worked together many years at the clinic before Arladine’s death on August 28, 1997. In April of 2002, Norman married Catherine (Weyerman) Bergman. Her family of four children, Jean, Jerry, Ned, and Tom, became part of his family, too. They enjoyed 13 years together before Cathy’s death on November 27, 2015.
A favorite hobby of Norman’s was to build things, especially houses. He loved working on the family farm, playing Chess, listening to and singing hymns, working puzzles, and any time he spent with his family.
He was raised and baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held the office of Elder and the prized office of Member.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wives, Arladine Nelson and Cathy Nelson; and five siblings, Lucy Marie Land, Mildred include his sister, Winnie Negaard of Guilford, Missouri; children, Bob Nelson (Maureen) of Iowa City, Iowa, David Nelson (Karen) of Portland, Oregon, Nancy Short (Brian) of Rock Island, Illinois, Jean Schmidt (Ken) and Ned Bergman (Teresa), all of Independence, Missouri, Jerry Bergman of Texarkana, Texas, and Tom Bergman (Crystal) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to caregivers Heather Edwards, Kent Clisby, Mary Graham, Mercedes Eckart, Tammy Short, and Tammy Simpson; Every Step Hospice; Lamoni Clinic; Lamoni drugstore; and the many, many volunteers, friends, family, and neighbors who blessed us all.
Visitation will be held at the Lamoni Community of Christ Church 4-5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, with a memorial service starting at 5 p.m. A meal will follow, to which everyone is invited. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.

Dear Saints,
Sunday, April 28, 2019 has been set aside as a day of fasting and prayer
for the following purpose:
Elder Ram Baral, a native of Nepal, currently living in South Carolina, has an appointment on Wednesday May 1, 2019 with President Donald Trump.
Pray for God's Spirit to be with Brother Baral and that he might be able to share what the Lord wants him to share with President Trump.
Maybe each branch could take time to announce this and have a special prayer while the Saints are gathered for worship.
Please continue your prayers and fasting through Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Francis Harper Message for 4/26/2019
Dear Ones,
The Lord said to Peter: “Feed my lambs;” “Feed my sheep.” The spiritual nurturing of children is often neglected. Most of our preaching is directed toward the adults in our congregations. Some branches devote a portion of the preaching service to the children. I have observed where this is done, everyone is edified; the children and the adults also.
The well-known proverb: “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6) has proven to be true for the majority of children.
Rufus Jones, 1863-1948, a Quaker, an American religious leader, writer, magazine editor, philosopher, and college professor, said on his 80th birthday, “I am most of all thankful for my birthplace and early nurture in the warm atmosphere of a spiritually-minded home, with a manifest touch of saintliness in it; thankful indeed that from the cradle I was saturated with the Scriptures and immersed in an environment of religion of experience and reality. It was a particular grace that I was born into that great inheritance of spiritual wisdom and faith, accumulated through generations of devotion and sacrificial love.
“I never can be grateful enough for what was done for me by my progenitors before I came on the scene. They provided the spiritual atmosphere of my youth.”
For his sentiments, expressed so eloquently, I am very grateful. His words describe my sentiments also! Surely it is God’s will that every child be nurtured in the way described by Rufus Jones.
Jesus warned: “Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:5 IV; 18:6 KJV).
Parents will be held accountable for how they care for their children. The stewardship of parenthood is a grave responsibility! “And again, inasmuch as parents have children . . ., that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance; faith in Christ the Son of the living God; and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands when eight years old, the sin [shall] be upon the head of the parents; . . . and they shall teach their children to pray and walk uprightly before the Lord. And the inhabitants of Zion shall also observe the Sabath day to keep it holy” (Doctrine and Covenants 68:4a-d).
Every child is precious in the sight of God and should be precious to us also. After his ascension, Jesus visited the saints in Meso-America, “and he said unto them, Blessed are ye because of your faith. . . . and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them . . . and he spake unto the multitude, and saith unto them, Behold your little ones.
“And as they looked to behold, they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven . . . in the midst of fire; and they came down and encircled those little ones . . . and the angels did minister unto them, and the multitude did see and hear, and bear record; and they know that their record is true, for all of them did see and hear, every man for himself” (3 Nephi 8:22-26).
My Love to All,
Francis Harper

Feed My Lambs . . . Sheep
Seven of the apostles had fished all night on the Sea of Galilee and had caught nothing (John 21:3). In the first light of dawn, they could see a man standing on the shore. They wondered who it was. They were fishing 200 cubits [100 yards] off shore. At that distance personal features could not be seen.
Suddenly the man called out to them the usual fisherman’s greeting, “Have you caught anything?” When they answered they had caught nothing, the unknown man suggested they cast their net on the right side of their boat. The voice carried a familiar ring of authority, so they did as he suggested. Their net was immediately filled with “a hundred and fifty and three great fish. Fishermen always count their catch.
John said to Peter, “it is the Lord.” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, and did cast himself into the sea” (John 21:7). “This is now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples, after he was risen from the dead” (John 21:14).
At the place called Saint Peter’s Landing, near the little town called Capernaum, on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, there is a monument of the broken hearted Peter kneeling at the feet of Jesus. Three times Jesus asked him, “Do you love me,” once for each of Peter’s three denials. Each time after Peter answered “yes,” the Lord asked him to feed his flock; his lambs and sheep.
During January of 1990, when I visited Saint Peter’s landing I could identify with the feelings of Peter. I had also denied Jesus, not in words, but in some of my actions. I too went to my knees and asked the Lord to forgive me. During my meditations, I picked up a small black stone, as a souvenir of my experience there. After returning home, I discovered my souvenir stone was shaped like a human heart, as depicted in a medical encyclopedia. A few weeks later I noticed the stone was nearly identical in size and shape as a map of the Sea of Galilee, pictured in a magazine article.
A year later I purchased a satellite map of Israel in Tel Aviv, and as before, the stone was nearly identical in size and shape as the Sea of Galilee, photographed from space! Three times, as with Peter, I had been asked by the Lord, “Do you love me?” And three times, he asked me to prove my love for him by feeding his lambs and sheep.
Since that day in January 1990, I have made a greater effort to be a faithful servant of Jesus. He was asked by his disciples upon one occasion “who then is that faithful and wise servant? And the Lord said unto them, It is that servant who watcheth, to impart his portion of meat in due season. Blessed be that servant whom his Lord shall find, when he cometh, so doing” (Luke 12:50-52 IV; 12:42-43 KJV).
The Lord will give his good and faithful servants the appropriate and timely words to impart to his lambs and sheep. Isaiah wrote: “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season unto thee. O house of Israel, when ye are weary. He waketh morning by morning, he waketh mine ear to hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4)

Dangerous Places/Dangerous People Workshop
"Dangerous Places/Dangerous People"
Increase your knowledge depth by attending this upcoming, one day, Situational Awareness workshop. We will go over the observational skills in the morning. There is a scripted, self-driving field trip in the afternoon to practice the skills you have learned earlier in the day. The class will conclude around 5pm at the food court in a local large shopping mall. Take lots of notes, develop class ideas and bring your GPS!
Meet fellow instructors and have fun! Due to the logistics, class size is limited to approximately 15 participants. Your future students will benefit!
MO POST Law Enforcement credit available-3 hours.
Pre-payment is required. If you are a part of a family group pre-payment for one person is required with the balance for the remainder of the group due at class time.**
Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 9 am to 5 pm, I will conduct my family-oriented program “Dangerous Places/Dangerous People: Situational Awareness. Individuals are also welcome! The morning session focuses on awareness skills that may alert you and family members to potential threats. The afternoon is an individual field trip around the area to use your newly acquired skills. Many of these techniques are the same as Police Officers use when responding to a potentially dangerous call.
Lunch will be on your own, and you will start using the skills you have learned earlier in the day. Utilizing your personal vehicle and GPS, the afternoon will be a field trip to various locations around the local area to observe and report what you see. The participants will be given a route description and a sheet with observation requirements and space for notes. You and your companions will also make location decisions, “Where is a safe place or quick exit?”.
At the conclusion of the route, you or your group will meet the instructor in the food court of a large local shopping mall to relax, debrief and enjoy your favorite soft drink (diet soft drink in my case).
Cost is $25 per participant and $12.50 for each participating member of your family or group. Your family or group can secure a seat with a $25 payment on the www.SafeShoot.com web site with the balance payable at the start of the class.
Because of the logistics, class size is limited to approximately 15 people. These classes fill up quickly. Check your calendar and enroll your family, group or just yourself now.
The class will convene at 9 am at the Safe Shoot classroom, 2425 S. Crysler Ave #5, Independence, MO 64055. Please park on the upper east side of the building.

Jewish Prayer to Hasten the Revealing of the Messiah
Just saw this article. Pretty interesting...
"The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that
disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself hath ordained..."
-- First Inaugural Address of George Washington,
The City of New York, April 30, 1789 --

Prayer to Hasten the Messiah
From Breaking Isreal News
[For the first time, Breaking Israel News is providing a translation of this prayer to hasten the
Messiah. In addition, there are five blessings that according to Jewish tradition should be recited upon seeing the Messiah which are included so that when the prayer comes to fruition, the
supplicants will be prepared.]
May it be your will, God and God of our Fathers, that you will receive willingly the prayers of
your nation Israel, who have prayed to you in every generation and in every place in the world,
and particularly in the holy land of Israel, and in the merit of this prayer, may it be your will to judge us favorably, to grant Israel a complete redemption in kindness and mercy, with wonders
and miracles, and subjugate the blood that is the Kingdom of Edom, and the fat which is the
kingdom of Ishmael, and in the merit of all the truly righteous that are with us today and for the longing we have to see the complete redemption, and in the merit of your mercy and kindness,
please send us now the Prophet Elijah , your servant, and reveal the Messiah-king, and crown
him over all of Israel and over the world, Please, God, do not send us away from you empty-
handed. We trust in you. Please answer us without delay. We are waiting for your salvation. May
what I say and my thoughts be your will, my rock and redeemer.
Blessed are You, the Lord our God, King of the universe who redeems Israel.
Blessed are You, the Lord our God, King of the universe who has given us life and sustained us
and allowed us to reach this occasion.
Blessed are You, the Lord our God, King of the universe who has granted of His wisdom to
those who fear Him.

Remembering the Blood of Lamb

Remembering the blood of Lamb and those who first placed it upon their doorposts
Dear Family and Friends,
Recently, while giving a class on the relevance of ancient prophecies to our day, I was led to draw upon several videos from One for Israel https://www.oneforisrael.org/ and how many prophecies pertaining to Israel are actually being fulfilled today in the lives of the people of Israel.
Here’s a video introducing the work of One for Israel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBp1FnjCOTc (3 minutes).
After viewing this next link, please consider anew how the Lord has testified that He is able to do His own work in these latter days.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76iieNfnViw (4 minutes)
The question that yet remains with many in Israel is wonderfully and plainly answered in the following video – see especially the latter half beginning at the 2:05 minute mark.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOoUDpqtq-k (7.5 minutes)
Now to put some faces to the message, I believe a performance of the theme from “Schindler’s List” in the largest European synagogue in Budapest does this quite well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFGrooN6YDc (6 minutes)
With these things in mind, I hope you will consider re-reading Romans 12:1-3 after re-reading all of the preceding chapter. (In other words, chapter 11 is not complete without also considering the first part of chapter 12.)
As we remember Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection this week and weekend, respectively, please remember how our Lord was taken from among His brethren of the tribe of Judah to be our Passover Lamb – as well as theirs. For Jesus truly said that inasmuch as we do anything unto the least of His brethren, we do it unto Him (Matthew 25).
God’s richest blessings to each of you as we labor together in the Lord’s work of His fulfilling His covenants with His ancient covenant people, the house of Israel.
For Zion and her King,

FASTING AND PRAYER Elder Ram Baral

FASTING AND PRAYER Elder Ram Baral
To Conference of Restoration Elders, Pastors of Zion, Pastors of Central Missouri and all other Restoration Branches, worldwide:
Dear Saints,
Elder Ram Baral, who lives in the Columbia, South Carolina area, has an appointment to meet with President Donald Trump at 9 A.M. on May 1, 2019, at the White House.
Brother Ram solicits your prayers as he prepares for this important meeting. He asks us to pray that he will be blessed with the wisdom of Solomon who prayed: “Give me now wisdom and knowledge . . . for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?” (2 Chronicles 1:10). Additionally, we need to ask the Lord to bless Brother Baral with good physical health and safety as he travels to and from Washington, D.C.
It has been suggested that Sunday, April 28, 2019, be designated as a day of fasting and mighty prayer for our nation and the meeting to be held on the following Wednesday at 9 A.M. It is hoped that every Restoration Branch throughout the world will participate in this worthy cause.
Please pray also that nothing will happen that might make it necessary to reschedule this meeting. We will keep you informed.
My Love to All,
Francis Harper
Please share and or forward as desired.
The gist or synopsis of what Brother Ram plans to present to the President is covered in the attachment: An Urgent Message to all Americans. (Below)

An Urgent Message to all Americans
“Make America great again” has been the rallying cry of this administration of President Donald J. Trump. The key to the greatness of the United States of America has always rested upon the faith and righteousness of her people. Inasmuch as we keep the commandments of God we shall prosper in our land. “Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
Jacob had twelve sons. Before his sons left Egypt Jacob blessed them one by one. His blessings were prophetic. The promises given to Judah [present day Israel] and Joseph [USA] exceed all the others. See Genesis 49. Before his death, Moses also pronounced blessings upon the sons of Jacob and their descendants. See Deuteronomy 33.
As citizens of the USA we should be especially interested in the blessings promised to Joseph and his descendants. “Joseph is a fruitful bough [of the family tree] whose branches run over the wall [a barrier, like oceans] . . . the arms of his hands were made strong by the mighty God of Jacob . . . even by the God of thy Father, who shall help thee and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven . . . they shall be on the head of Joseph . . . that was separated from his brethren” (Genesis 49). “Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven . . . and for the precious things of the earth . . . and for the good will of him that dwelt in the [burning] bush; Let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph . . . that was separated from his brethren” (Deuteronomy 33). America is Joseph’s land; a land separated from his brethren.
The word of the Lord came to Ezekiel, saying, “Thou son of man, take one stick [scroll] and write upon it, for Judah . . .” [The Bible; the record of Judah]; . . . then take another stick and write upon it for Joseph . . .” [The Book of Mormon; the record of Joseph].
The first descendants of Joseph came to America just before the Babylonian captivity in 586 B.C. See 1 Nephi 1:12; 1:165. The records kept by these early immigrants to Joseph’s land have been preserved in The Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon has an urgent message for all Americans. The Prophet Ether wrote of America as “the land of promise, choice above all other lands, which the Lord God had preserved for a righteous people” (Ether 1:29).
The Lord’s immigration policy for America is found in The Book of Mormon: “. . . according to the workings of the Spirit which is in me there should none come into the land save [unless] they shall be brought by the hand of the Lord . . . this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring. And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments, which he hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them; . . . And behold, it is wisdom that this land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations; For, behold many nations would overrun the land . . . And they shall be kept from all other nations . . . (2 Nephi 1:10-17).
The oceans served as natural walls until 1492. Nephi prophesied: “And I looked and beheld a man [Christopher Columbus] among the Gentiles . . . and I beheld the Spirit of God, that it came down and wrought upon the man; and he went forth upon the many waters . . . and it came to pass that I beheld the Spirit of God, that it wrought upon other Gentiles; [the early colonists] and they went forth out of captivity, upon the many waters. And it came to pass that I beheld many multitudes of the Gentiles upon the land of promise” (1 Nephi 3:147-149).
The urgent message to all who live in the USA is this: “Behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God, or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fullness of iniquity among the
children of the land, that they are swept off. And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles that ye may know the decrees of God, that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fullness come, that ye may not bring down the fullness of the wrath of God upon you . . .” (Ether 1:32-34).
Our nation will be spared as long as we have a faithful, prayerful remnant in our country. Sodom would have been spared if ten righteous souls could have been found in the city. We need many men, women and children who will pray for our country like the prophet Daniel prayed for his nation, “O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; “We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments; Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets . . . “O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day. . . . Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant. . . O my God incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations. . . We do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord forgive” (Daniel 9:4-7, 17-19).
Abraham Lincoln stated: “The only assurance of our nation’s safety is to lay our foundation on morality and religion. I have always taken counsel of Him. I cannot recall one instance in which I followed my own judgment, founded upon such a decision, where the results were unsatisfactory; whereas, in almost every instance where I yielded to the views of others, I have had occasion to regret it.”
“In God We Trust,” must remain as our motto!
