FOLLOWING THE WAY AS WE LIVE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD MAY 23, 2024
Greetings to all those following the WAY (JESUS CHRIST),
Do you remember the first words we find in the Scriptures referring to the beginning of the ministry of John the Baptist and Jesus? Those word, as found in Matthew 3:28 and Matthew 4:16, were “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” John adds the word YE, which means YOU. The kingdom of heaven is a personal thing, it is not as an old saying used to be, “Pie in the sky.”
The kingdom was at hand because Jesus was present, Therefore it seems that the kingdom would always be “at hand,” because Jesus said He would never leave us. A church sign once read, “If you are not as close to God as you once were or would like to be,guess who needs to move.” We often allow the distance between us and God to increase because we sin. Thus we often hear the command of God to repent.
After going about all Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, Jesus preached his “Sermon on the Mount” which is described by many as the “Keys to the Kingdom.” As we all know, keys can open or close something. This week I locked my keys in the van and had to call for help, which was readily available, though I had to wait awhile. How often do we “lock ourselves out of the presence of God?
What must be done when we realize we have done that? We must call the “Master Locksmith.”
We often go everywhere else to find some way to unlock our life so God can enter back in, but Jesus has made it most clear that He Is The WAY. Others can help, at times, but Jesus is the ultimate solution.
Did you ever wonder why the Wise Virgins could not share their oil with the foolish? It is because the oil is spiritual and is something that each of us must find for ourselves. Remember what Jesus told the foolish when they did return? “YE KNOW ME NOT!”
To know Jesus as best we can, we must do what He has told us. Thus the Beatitudes are the keys to the Kingdom.. Matthew 5 and 6 would be a good course of study for everyone as well classes in our branches. What does it mean to be “poor in spirit, to come unto Jesus, to mourn for our sins, to really be meek, to hunger and thirst after righteousness, to truly be merciful, to be pure in heart, to be a true peacemaker, to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world as Jesus has given us to be?”
Most of the problems found in our individual lives, in our families, branches and all our associations with others most likely stem from not using the keys to the kingdom to open the kingdom in our lives.
What is the biggest mountain, in the past month that has “Caved in on you?” What is the tiniest molehill this week that has caused you difficulty? There really is no difference between the mountain and the molehill. It is how we let it affect us and how we respond to those involved in the events of our lives.
To help us all in our daily living in the kingdom of God, remember, JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR THE WORLD TODAY. WITHOUT HIM, THERE IS NO OTHER, JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY. We will never be one, until we are one with Jesus. That means each of us individually.

We have need of someone to help with some yard work for awhile. Possible tasks could be cleaning some flower beds, planting several small shrubs, spreading mulch, weeding, and trimming some shrubs. A 93-year-old primarily needs somebody he can direct to carry out these tasks which he can no longer perform on his own. The hacker is emailing it seems everyone in the contacts and is asking for a loan for some money that he will pay back. Please do not reply, or open to this email, or pay this person. If you ever question if the email is safe, its best to remain safe and not reply to it. Remember if there seems like the email is demanding an immediate emotional response, requesting money when its abnormal for the person, and/or obvious typos its likely a scam. If you experience being hacked, its important that you change your password as soon as you can and ensure your information is updated for two factor authentication. This allows a code to be sent to your phone/email/text to verify that it is you accessing your account when its accessed in a new location or on a new device. |

Greetings Dear Saints,
Jesus Is The Answer For The World Today
Above Him There's No Other Jesus Is The Way.
This message comes to us from John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.”
This message is also stated on a sign in my yard,
“Love is the answer, Jesus, is the WAY.”
A traveler once stopped to ask directions. He was told that if he continued in the same direction it was about 24, 850 miles, but if he turned around and followed directions it was only about 50 miles. Many of us, at times, may have gone many miles the wrong way before seeking help, but that isn’t needful if we obtain correct directions and follow them. That is our task in daily life while living in the Kingdom of God. His directions are always available, if we are willing to seek Him for directions and then follow his guidance. Jesus will never send us down the wrong way.
So why does it so often seem that we as individuals, family and church are going the wrong way? There are so many examples in each of our books of scripture that tell us why. Abram and Sarai didn’t wait on the Lord for a promised child, and we see most vividly, today, much of the consequence of their act. We have recorded in 4 Nephi 1:53 both the people of Nephi and the Lamanites had become exceedingly wicked. In Doctrine and Covenants 90:6-9 the leaders of the church, including Joseph Smith Jr, were chastised for not having their homes and families in order.
What about us? Read D&C 137:6 and 138:3 for two examples. Do the barriers and hindrances still exist? The answer in 2024 is also most vividly and easily seen in the turmoil and confusion among the Saints and in our individual homes and families.
Could it be that we keeping wanting God to tell us what to do, when, in fact, he has already told us many times? Trust and obey, for there’s no other way. DC 81:3 is very clear. Read it daily and comply with it for a week. Make your own list of what God has already told us to do as individuals and the Body of Christ.
If we sense in the smallest thing that we are going the wrong way, we must immediately takes whatever steps necessary to get back on the right path. Jesus is the only answer and the only WAY.
