Independence House For Sale

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Independence House For Sale

We've lowered the price to $69,900!! This is an extremely great deal since we have put well over $50K in projects into this house! However, the neighborhood will not handle a sale of $100K+, so whoever gets the opportunity to purchase this house will be getting a lot of house for the money!

If you know of anyone interested in moving to Independence who wants to live within walking distance to the Historic Independence Square and the Temple Lot, within walking distance to McCoy and Bundschu parks and Bryant Elementary or CPRS, and they want a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath house that has been almost completely updated on a quiet street with great neighbors and lots of children to play with, if they have kids 12 and under, we have the house for you!!

The house does not have a garage, but does have off street parking in front between the side walk and road with fresh gravel. The house's finest points are a large covered front porch, main floor laundry, a large kitchen with custom cabinets and a window seat, a pantry area, 2 full bathrooms, a full dry walkout basement under the original house and a 450 square foot attic for extra storage.

Call 816-282-8806 for a showing and come make our home yours!

Plexus Slim by Julie Bartley

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Julie Bartley

Hello to everyone. I am writing this to share with you about this amazing product that God has brought into my life! Since taking this product (about 2 months) my chronic pain has gone away, I have way more energy, I have lost 12 pounds and several inches. There are amazing testimonies about it stabilizing blood sugars and thyroid levels, decreasing cholesterol, decreasing blood pressures, huge weight losses and the list goes on. This product is called Plexus Slim and it is one pink drink a day and it is all natural ingredients. There is no caffeine added and no stimulants and it is not a meal replacement. Many people are frightened away by the price of it, but it will help cut cravings for expensive coffees, sodas and fast food and literally pay for itself. If you were to try it and don’t think it is helping you, they have a 60 day money back guarantee! We have ongoing informational meetings about this product if you would like to learn more.

If you would like more information please email

Rwanda Church Registration

--------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Brian Mundy

Rwanda Church Registration

Brothers and Sisters,

Some months back I sent out on behalf of ARM a request for funds to register the Church in Rwanda. The church continues to grow there and we must obey the laws of the land and become registered. ARM as well as the local priesthood has set a budget for this of $5500 the majority of this covering property cost (the Government requires the Church to own a piece of land) the balance is for attorney and registration fees.

When I originally sent this out we only received 3 contributions totaling $450 creating a shortfall of $5,050. We know there are many worthy causes out there that are requesting funds however we wanted to make you aware of this need also.

On Behalf of the Board of African Restoration Ministries and the Saints of Rwanda we want to thank you for your prayerful consideration. Elder Doug Smith will be Rwanda July 10 - July 20, we would like him to be able to take the funds with him. Please keep him and his family in your prayers, as he will be in Africa until August 7.

Any tax deductible contributions can be made out to ARM and place “Rwanda Registration” in the memo. My mailing address is 20509 E Courtney Atherton Road, Independence MO 64058. If you should have any questions feel free to contact me at 816-668-4521 or by email

Thanks again for your support of the Church in Africa

Restoration Education Council request

Brenda Eggert

Wanted: Someone to volunteer to create print-ready files of Sunday School materials for the Restoration Education Council. All raw material is already gathered in book form and just needs to be recreated and/or scanned into the computer to create a final version of each book. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer for this worthy cause, please contact Brenda Eggert at 816-246-1402 or email: Even though this is not paying work, the satisfaction of doing something that will affect so many children in a positive way is well worth the effort.

Thank you.

Several items needed. . .Shower Chair / Clarinet / Van

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Dan Hood

Several items needed. . .

Nanci is in need of a shower chair for her Mom, ideally one with arms and a back support, but would consider most any type.

I also have a friend looking for a B-flat clarinet. . .collegiate quality or better hopefully. . .willing to pay a fair price.

We are also looking for something of a miracle in the way of a dependable family van. We need at least 7 seats, as we still transport Nanci's Mom plus our entire family from time to time. We've been driving a 2000 Ford Windstar for the past 5 or 6 years, needing a new motor for the past year and a half. . .too expensive to justify repair. The miracle would be a crazy-good price, or $2-3,000. down and quick pay-off.

PLEASE. . .Something dependable. . .but I will consider all offers.

We will be answering these questions - We realize people like to be informed

Restoration Branch Family Reunion/Conference of Restoration Elders

Dear Saints,

It is time to register for the in-town Restoration Branch Family Reunion and Conference of Restoration Elders.

The reunion/conference is June 22-27, 2014 at CPRS/Waldo Avenue RB. in Independence, MO

Themes, schedule, and registration forms for the reunion and conference were in the last issue of the Tidings of Zion.

You can also register on line at either the Pastors of Zion or CRE websites, which are listed in the last Tidings.

Or you can come by the CRE Office at 500 N. Union in Independence, MO M-W-F from 10am-4pm.

Early registration is a great help in planning for meals, classes, etc.

To all pastors: If you would please make this announcement or place it in your Sunday bulletins for the next three weeks, it will be very much appreciated.

We can also get a supply of registration forms to you for your branch if you let us know.

One thing about an in-town reunion, people can come and go as they wish, but we would still encourage everyone to register, even if you only plan to attend on a partial basis.

If you have any questions, please call me at 816-833-6552 or 816-835-0334

Feel free to pass this notice along.

Prayers needed for my Mother-in-law

Prayers needed for my Mother-in-law

Please keep my mother-in-law in your prayers. She has been in the hospital for a couple of days now with a serious infection. She is diabetic and had a severe stroke last October, so the infection is putting a heavy burden on her. It seems like it's a urinary tract infection, although they are still waiting on some blood test results to confirm that.

Her fever goes up and down a lot, sometimes it's almost normal, but other times it goes up to around 103. When the fever is higher, she is not very responsive, but when it's lower she is more responsive. They are giving her antibiotics, so the strong antibiotics might possibly contribute to her not being as responsive.

The doctors also said there were some small blockages in her brain and they are giving her medicine to dissolve those.

We are asking for prayers that the infection will be controlled and not spread further and that the infection will quickly be taken away. We are also praying that any blockages will be dissolved and that she will not have another stroke. Also please pray for her family to have strength and energy and alertness as they stay at the hospital.

When my mother-in-law had her stroke last October, my wife, Lian, flew to Malaysia to be with her mother and family. That time her mother also had a severe infection, probably from an IV needle after she was admitted to the hospital with the stroke. Her mother was in a coma and the doctors did not hold much hope she would ever wake up from it, but when Lian first got to the hospital and went into the room to see her mother, her mother opened her eyes and tried to hug her! We have a testimony of the miracle that God made happen that day.

During the past few months, Lian's mother has been at home and has been doing physical therapy. She has made some good progress and been trying hard on the physical therapy, so I know that she wants to get better. I know that God knows what is best for Lian's mother, and we must accept his will. But I also believe that God wants us to pray for her recovery with a firm faith even as we leave it in His hands. Lian has been planning for some time to travel to Malaysia in June to spend time with her mother and family and to work with her mother to help her recover more from the effects of the stroke, and I pray that she will be able to do all of that. She has been so looking forward to spending time with her mother, talking with her, and taking care of her.

Lian's mother's name is Ah Lek.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, love, and support.

Great Need for Prayers for Kyle Chown

Great Need for Prayers for Kyle Chown

Brothers & Sisters,
Kyle Chown has battled cancer for over fives years. It was first discovered at stage 4 when he was fourteen. He has received many blessings and was even back in college this spring semester, but now he must quickly return home due to cancer complications. Kyle's sister, Kelsey, who is in graduate school at the same university, Missouri State in Springfield, MO, is with him until his father arrives. Terry is driving nine hours from Ohio to pick him up.
As you can see from the message below from Kyle's mother, the medical professionals are nearing the end of their rope in terms of what they know to do for Kyle. Thus, it is up to us to hold him up to the Lord in mighty prayer, if his life is to continue. I ask that you join me in fasting and prayer for Kyle that he might be delivered once and for all from the spirit of cancer, and that all physical ramifications from it be removed. Pray that this young man, who has already offered much, might live a long, full life of service and testimony for Jesus. Please share this with friends that many might pray for him.
Your sister in Christ, Yvonne Galusha
Message: Kelsey just called to say the procedure went well. They put something in Kyle's IV which wasn't necessarily supposed to knock him out, but did. He is awake but pretty out of it. He asked her again while she was talking to me if the procedure was over. :) They drew off about a liter-and-a-half of fluid. With normal patients, they would usually send them home in an hour or two after the procedure, so as soon as Terry gets there, Kyle will probably be released. I will call up to the hospital to see what Dr. Dole wants us to do once we get Kyle home. I'm not sure if he will want to admit him now that the fluid has been drawn off, but I'm sure he will at least want us to come in and talk to him. The fluid is probably being produced because of irritation from cancer cells and will most likely continue to come back. Dr. Fasipe also told me on the phone yesterday that the CT scan showed additional nodules. So.... I'm going to be frank. We are running out of options as far as things we can try medically. There are phase 1 and 2 trials out there but they are for things that really haven't been tried and might not help at all...what I really need is people willing to believe that Kyle will be healed and to pray for that and that we can have the faith to make it through whatever is going to happen before then.
Thank you!

Irreplaceable - What is Family?

Focus on the Family is presenting the 2 hour movie documentary, Irreplaceable, at the Independence 20 theater on May 6th at 7:30 pm.

It will also be showing at the Kansas City 18 Cinemas on Ameristar Dr. and the Cinemark 14, The Palace, on 500 Nicohls Rd.

The promotion material states:
“Irreplaceable is a powerful and engaging documentary that’s like no other. It walks viewers through questions, such as: "What is family?" "What is marriage?" "Why are they important?" The film reinforces what Christians know from Scripture with compelling facts and personal testimonies.”

“Focus on the Family realizes people can’t defend the culture if they don’t understand why marriage matters—and why an intact family is the very bedrock of society. That’s why we’re launching Irreplaceable on Tuesday, May 6."

This special event will be in cinemas nationwide

May, 2014.

Around and About the Centre Place by High Priest Paul Gage Independence, MO

Greetings to the precious Saints in Australia, in the lovely name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Resurrection Sunday, known to some as , "Easter," has come and gone, but praise God, Jesus lives forever

and ever. The doctrinal principle of resurrection is the foundational basis of what we believe about Jesus

Christ. All the other religious and otherwise great people of the human race are dead. Except our mighty

Lord, as we find evidence in I Corinthians 15, III Nephi 5, D&C 76 and many other scriptures. After all,

didn't Jesus describe himself as "the Resurrection and the Life?" John 11:25. The word "Easter" is only

mentioned one time in the Bible and is thought to be an incorrect translation and that the word should

be "Passover." Where is it found?

The Saints in the Centre Place were privileged to be able to enjoy an excellent performance by the

Restoration Choir, entitled "Come Walk with Me through the Passion and Resurrection of Christ." They

presented their ministry at Atherton, Living Hope, and Outreach Restoration Branches on Palm Sunday,

Resurrection Sunday and the Wednesday night in between.

The week of March 30-April 6th, the Saints in the Centre Place had the opportunity to come together for

worship and learning. There was preaching on March 30, a special prayer service on Tuesday, April 1, an

all day gathering on Saturday, April 5,with classes for adults and youth. The adult class was "The Restored

Gospel-the Treasure in Earthen Vessels" taught by Elder Danny Hight from the Oak Grove, MO RB. The

theme for the day was, "The Restored Gospel-A Call to Action-then and Now." Sunday, April 6th was

a combined prayer service followed by a Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. The weekly events were co-
sponsored by the Conference of Restoration Elders and Pastors of Zion.

Well, as the old saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers, so what do May flowers bring? In

America, the answer is the Mayflower brought the Pilgrims in 1620. The rains have brought the flowers.

Spring isn't just bursting out all over, it is exploding.

Heading into May & June, the Saints in many areas are getting ready for camps and reunions.

Excitement is building in regards to the Restoration Branch Family Reunion and Conference of Restoration

Elders June 22-27, 2014 in Independence, MO. We still have room for some Aussies to come over.

Missionary trips have been concluded to the Philippines and Germany, are underway in East Africa, and

preparations being made to go to the Luzon area of the Philippines. Murray, Delma, and Frank Shepard will

making that journey.

A change is coming to Center Place Restoration School. Brother Richard Neill is retiring as the

Administrator of the school. His successor will be Elder John Larson who has served as the assistant for a

number of years.

The Australian sub-committee of the SEAAM Board is working on finding ministers to come to Australia

for the reunion in April of 2015. Please pray for the Lord's guidance in the matter.

Looking at the moral, economic and national conditions of the world around us, it is easy to be pessimistic

regarding the future. The predictions of some of the early prophets would seem to support this view of

things; but when we look more carefully into what the prophets were commissioned to foretell, we find that

the predictions of doom and despair were not the real import of the message they had to proclaim.

The prophecies of calamity, destruction and doom were merely the sign-posts of far more significant and

important events. The ultimate, long range objective of the workings of God was the establishment of His

kingdom. All other considerations are subservient to this “one far-off grand divine event, towards which

the whole creation moves.” God knew from the beginning that there would be frustrations, calamities and

seeming failures, but in spite of these distractions, He has never ceased to hold out to His faithful people, the

hope of the Kingdom.

When called by King Nebuchadnezzar to interpret his vision of a great image, Daniel clearly indicated

that the four phases of the image represented four great earthly powers, all of which would be destroyed by

“a stone cut out of the mountain without hands.” “In the days of these kings,” said Daniel,” shall the God of

heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed.”(Dan.2:44). Jesus also, when answering the query

of His disciples regarding these events, said, “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and

lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28)

Solomon wrote, “where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Prov. 29:28). Perhaps it is more difficult

to keep in perspective before us, the vision of the coming kingdom, than it is to see and hear the moral and

spiritual decadence in our social environment: nevertheless we should not allow ourselves to become so

preoccupied with these external things that we lose sight of the vision of the kingdom of which we are called

to be a part. It is vital to our material, as well as our spiritual survival, that we keep alive and warm in our

hearts the hope of Zion that is to be.

Hope is the dynamic that moves us forward towards fulfillment of the purposes of God in our lives. It is

vitally necessary that we discern what those purposes are. The clarity of our vision determines the fervor of

our hope. That which is but dimly visualized cannot inspire more than faint hope. Where there is no vision,

hope gives way to futility and despair.

We of the Restoration have the strongest reason of any people on earth to entertain a lively hope of

fulfillment of the promises of the triumph of the Kingdom of God. This work came into being not by

the design or purposes of men, but by direct intervention of the powers of heaven. Had it been by any

other means it would not have taken the form that it did. The advent of the Restoration did not signify the

establishment of just another church: it was, indeed, the kingdom set up by the God of heaven, as foretold by

the prophet Daniel. God has assured us that “The works, and the designs, and the purposes of God, can not

be frustrated, neither can they come to nought, for God doth not walk in crooked paths; neither doth he turn

to the right hand nor to the left: neither doth he vary from that which he hath said: therefore his paths are

straight and his course is one eternal round.” (D & C 2:1.)

Mowing or Mower Needed

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Connie Guthrie

Hello everyone,

Dave and me are truly thankful for all the help that has come our way.

Trying to live in OK and trying to get moved to Independence, it is a difficult journey.

We have a rather large yard. Dave tried last summer with a push mower, but he is 66 and it is really hard on him with his 5 by passes.

If anyone has a rider they are needing to sell, or if anyone knows of someone that could mow for us, we would greatly appreciate.

We are trying to sell our 5 acres in OK, but yet nothing has happened.

It may take a while, so we have to keep on top of this here and of course up in Independence.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
