John 12:31-36 # 438 We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations

Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth forever; and how sayest thou, The Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

We've a story to tell to the nations, that shall turn their hearts to the right, a story of truth and mercy,
a story of peace and light, a story of peace and light. For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
and the dawning to noonday bright, and Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth, the kingdom of love and light.

3/2/23

Revelation 15:3
And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

We've a song to be sung to the nations, that shall lift their hearts to the Lord, a song that shall conquer evil, and shatter the spear and sword, and shatter the spear and sword. For the darkness shall turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright, and Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth, the kingdom of love and light.

3/3/23

Revelation 15:4
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

We've a message to give to the nations, that the Lord who reigneth above has sent us His Son to save us, and show us that God is love, and show us that God is love. For the darkness shall turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright, and Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth, the kingdom of love and light.

3/4/23

D&C 43: 6a-c
And again, the Lord shall utter his voice out of heaven, saying, Hearken, O ye nations of the earth, and hear the words of that God who made you. O ye nations of the earth, how often would I have gathered you together as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, but ye would not! How oft have I called upon you-by the mouth of my servants, and by the ministering of angels, and by mine own voice, and by the voice of thundering’s, and by the voice of lightnings, and by the voice of tempests, and by the voice of earthquakes and great hailstorms, and by the voice of famines and pestilences of every kind, and by the great sound of a trump, and by the voice of judgment, and by the voice of mercy all the day long, and by the voice of glory, and honor, and the riches of eternal life-and would have saved you with an everlasting salvation, but ye would not!

We've a Savior to show to the nations, who the path of sorrow has trod, that all of the world's great peoples may come to the truth of God, may come to the truth of God! For the darkness shall turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright, and Christ's great kingdom shall come on earth, the kingdom of love and light.

3/5/23

D&C 45:2a-b #439 Christ for the World We Sing
Hearken, O ye people of my church and ye elders, listen together, and hear my voice while it is called today, and harden not your hearts; for verily, I say unto you that I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the light, and the life of the world-a light that shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

Christ for the world we sing; the world to Christ we bring with loving zeal: the poor and them that mourn, the faint and overborne, sin-sick and sorrow worn, whom Christ doth heal.

3/6/23

D&C 45:2c-d

I came unto my own, and my own received me not; but unto as many as received me gave I power to do many miracles and to become the sons of God; and even unto them that believed on my name gave I power to obtain eternal life. And, even so, I have sent mine everlasting covenant into the world to be a light to the world, and to be a standard for my people and for the Gentiles to seek to it, and to be a messenger before my face to prepare the way before me.

Christ for the world we sing; the world to Christ we bring with fervent prayer the wayward and the lost, by restless passions tossed, redeemed at countless cost from dark despair.

3/7/23

1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Christ for the world we sing; the world to Christ we bring with one accord: with us the work to share,
with us reproach to dare, with us the cross to bear, for Christ our Lord.

3/8/23

John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

Christ for the world we sing; the world to Christ we bring with joyful song: the newborn souls whose days, reclaimed from error's ways, inspired with hope and praise, to Christ belong.

3/9/23

Isaiah 45:21 #445 Shout the Tidings of Salvation
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together. Who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I, the Lord? And there is no god else beside me, a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.

Shout the tidings of salvation to the agèd and the young, Till the precious invitation Waken every heart and tongue. Send the sound, the earth around from the rising to the setting of the sun; thill each gathering crowd shall proclaim aloud “The glorious work is done”!

3/10/23

Isaiah 45:22, 23
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself; the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return: That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Shout the tidings of salvation O’er the prairies of the West, till each gathering congregation With the gospel sound is blest. Send the sound, the earth around from the rising to the setting of the sun; thill each gathering crowd shall proclaim aloud “The glorious work is done”!

3/11/23

Philippians 2: 8-11
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Shout the tidings of salvation O’er the islands of the sea, Till, in humble adoration, all to Christ shall bow the knee. Send the sound, the earth around from the rising to the setting of the sun; thill each gathering crowd shall proclaim aloud “The glorious work is done”!

3/12/23

D&C 1:4 e
that the fullness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world and before kings and rulers.

Shout the tidings of salvation till the world shall hear the call, And, with joyous acclamation, Crown the Savior Lord of all. Send the sound, the earth around from the rising to the setting of the sun; thill each gathering crowd shall proclaim aloud “The glorious work is done”!

3/13/23 # 446 Join us in Sweet Accord

D&C58:3b
Behold, verily, I say unto you, for this cause I have sent you, that you might be obedient, and that your hearts might be prepared to bear testimony of the things which are to come.

Join with us in sweet accord, sing the praises of the Lord; Praise unto his holy name, every heart his love proclaim. Send the news to every nation show the way unto salvation Give to all this invitation; Join the children of the Lord.

3/14/23

Psalms 48: 10-14
According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth; thy right hand is full of righteousness. Let Mount Zion rejoice; let the daughters of Judah be glad because of thy judgments. Walk about Zion and go round about her; tell the towers thereof. Mark ye well her bulwarks; consider her palaces, that ye may tell it to the generation following. For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death.

Sound aloud the gospel plan, thro the earth in every land; gather home into the fold, honest hearts both young and old; give them of that richest treasure, Joy, and peace in boundless measure; all your duties do with pleasure; join the children of the Lord.

3/15/23

Jeremiah 50:45
Therefore, hear ye the counsel of the Lord that he hath taken against Babylon, and his purposes that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; surely, he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

Tell the children all abroad of the true and living God, of his mercies, of his love, of his coming from above; of his word by revelation, of his works in all creation; give to all this invitation; Join the children of the Lord.

3/16/23 # 448 I love to tell the Story.

II Nephi 9:136, 137
Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love. I love to tell the story because I know it's true; it satisfies my longings as nothing else can do. I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

3/17/23

D & C 108:10a
SECTION 108 - Doctrine and Covenants
And now the year of my redeemed is come; and they shall mention the loving-kindness of their Lord and all that he has bestowed upon them, according to his goodness and according to his loving kindness, forever and ever.

I love to tell the story; more wonderful it seems Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams. I love to tell the story, it did so much for me and that is just the reason I tell it now to Thee. I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

3/18/23

Psalms 145:1,2
I will extol thee, my God, O King; and I will bless thy name forever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name forever and ever.

I love to tell the story; ‘tis pleasant to repeat What seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet. I love to tell the story, for some have never heard the message of salvation from God’s own holy word. I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

3/19/23

Psalms 145: 3-5
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise thy works to another and shall declare thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty and of thy wondrous works.

I love to tell the story; for those who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it, like the rest. And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song Twill be the old, old story, that I have loved so long.. I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

3/20/23 # 450 The Whole Wide World for Jesus

D&C100:2 a, b
But verily, I say unto you that I have decreed a decree which my people shall realize, inasmuch as they hearken from this very hour unto the counsel which I, the Lord, their God, shall give unto them. Behold, they shall, for I have decreed it, begin to prevail against mine enemies from this very hour; and by hearkening to observe all the words which I, the Lord, their God, shall speak unto them, they shall never cease to prevail until the kingdoms of the world are subdued under my feet and the earth is given unto the saints, to possess it forever and ever.

The whole wide world for Jesus! This shall our watchword be Upon the highest mountain, Down by the widest sea; The whole wide world for Jesus! To Him shall all men bow, In city or in prairie—The world for Jesus now! The whole wide world, The whole wide world—Proclaim the Gospel tidings through the whole wide world; Lift up the cross for Jesus, his banner be unfurled, Till every tongue confess Him through the whole wide world!

3/21/23

Revelation 19: 11-16
And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war--His eyes as a flame of fire; and he had on his head many crowns and a name written that no man knew but himself. And he is clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth proceedeth the word of God, and with it he will smite the nations; and he will rule them with the word of his mouth; and he treadeth the winepress in the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on a vesture, and on his thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The whole wide world for Jesus Inspires us with the thought That all God's wandering children Have by his love been bought. The whole wide world for Jesus! O faint not by the way! The cross shall surely conquer in this our glorious day. The whole wide world, The whole wide world—Proclaim the Gospel tidings through the whole wide world; Lift up the cross for Jesus, his banner be unfurled, Till every tongue confess Him through the whole wide world!

3/22/23

Mormon 4:84-88
Behold, I say unto you that whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ, it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth. For behold, thus said Jesus Christ, the Son of God, unto his disciples who should tarry, yea, and also to all his disciples, in the hearing of the multitude: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature; and he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover; And whosoever shall believe in my name, doubting nothing, unto him will I confirm all my words, even unto the ends of the earth.

The whole wide world for Jesus! The marching order sound: Go ye and preach the gospel Wherever man is found. The whole wide world for Jesus! Ride forth, O conquering King, Through all the mighty nations, The world to glory bring! The whole wide world, The whole wide world—Proclaim the Gospel tidings through the whole wide world; Lift up the cross for Jesus, his banner be unfurled, Till every tongue confess Him through the whole wide world!

Romans 12:1 #456 Beloved Community of God
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice--holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Beloved community of God in vision seen, a perfect whole All that we have we pledge to thee our powers of body, mind and soul

3/24/23

Romans 12:9-10

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, and cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another;

The healthy frame, the steady nerve, the active pulse of flesh and blood. With these we dedicate to thee, our manhood and our womanhood

3/25/23

Romans 12:11-13
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

All gains of skill and fruits of thought, whate’er we know, whate’er we feel, humbly we bring that we may prove true servants of the common weal.

3/26/23

Romans 12: 14-16
Bless them which persecute you; bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Fair visions of the good and true wrought into speech and kindly deed. These be our sacrament of love our witness to the Christly creed.

3/27/23

Romans 12:17-18
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

King of the Kingdom of our dreams from dreams we turn to take our part in that beloved community where love is law in every heart

3/28/23 # 457 Blest be the Tie That Binds

1 Thessalonians 3:11
Now God himself and our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ direct our way unto you

Blest be the tie that binds Our hearts in Christian love The fellowship our spirit finds Is like to that above.

3/29/23

1 Thessalonians 3:12,13
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another and toward all men, even as we do toward you, To the end he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Before our father’s throne, we pour our ardent prayers; Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one—Our comforts and our cares.

3/30/23

Galatians 6:2
Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

We share our mutual woes; Our mutual burdens bear; And often for each other flows the sympathizing tear.

3/31/23

John 4:21
The woman said unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

When here our pathway’s part, we suffer mutual pain yet one in Christ and one in heart, we hope to meet again.

Song of the Month: TEACH US O LORD, TRUE BROTHERHOOD

Marion D. Savage wrote this hymn However even though there is no biographical information about the author, the words have wonderful thoughts and meaning we should remember.

Teach us, O Lord, true brotherhood
In daily thought and deed,
That we may tread with humble heart
The path where Thou dost lead.

Help us to spurn a life of ease,
While brothers labour long
In mill and mart to give us bread,
And labour without song.

Cast from our hearts, O Lord of life,
Our selfishness and pride,
Help us to choose the toiler's part,
And suffer by his side.

Give us the courage, Lord, to fight
With Thee all greed of gold,
To fight until Thy kingdom's won,
Thy kingdom long foretold.

Love then shall reign supreme o'er all,
O'er heart and mind and hand,
Eternal love and brotherhood

In all this storm-tossed land

With vision clear and steadfast heart
So let us follow Thee,
E'en though it be that weary road
Which leads to Calvary!
