CPCT Statement

CPCT Statement

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce that we are postponing the CPCT Summer 2021 production of “The Music Man” because of the following:

  • 4 cases of Covid-19 in the cast and staff that resulted in a 14 day shut-down and although blessed that the spread was contained, there is continued risk of additional shut-downs, which would take us into performance without adequate rehearsal.

  • Inability to replace key participants in the show who had to drop because of illness and side effects.

  • Increased mandates & uncertainties of guidelines that could be imposed in the next weeks, that make vocal and dance rehearsals, not to mention performances difficult.

  • The financial implications of cancelling versus postponing for our small 501c3 group

  • Giving preference to our brothers and sisters

  • The challenges associated with our initial date change

  • And following prayerful consideration, discussion and consultation with public health professionals, a clear majority of the show’s participants would rather postpone thoughtfully, versus having to cancel at the last minute.

However, we are encouraged and remain faithful to our mission!  We’re planning on seeing you Spring/Summer 2022 when we will perform “The Music Man” with the same cast.  Stay tuned for other fundraisers to help us make up for the financial losses of this postponement.

Thank you for your continued support of Center Place Christian Theatre.
