Last Days Camp Zion

Dear Saints,

The final Walk to Zion activity is called Camp Zion because we finally made it to Independence.   It will be a pioneer type of activity filled with many “Last Days” educational booths for learning how to prepare and endure til Enoch and his city get here.

Saturday, October 16th from 9am - 1 pm with a Pioneer lunch at Noon all together.
Location:  the Pavilion between the LDS Stake Center & Visitor’s Center
705 W Walnut Ave., Independence, MO 64050

We need help from the whole family!    And since we’re gonna be all together in this endeavor, we are asking for some help with teaching the following topics:

Is there a Saint who is a hunter who can teach by talking on how to hunt, where to purchase a hunting license, and any laws that pertain to that  subject/activity.

Is there a Saint who knows how to smoke meat for food storage purposes in case there is no refrigeration available?  Speaking on how to smoke meat and how to store it safely.

Is there a Saint who knows how to dehydrate food?  Who would be willing to speak and teach on that topic and the proper storing of dehydrated foods.

Is there a Saint who can teach First Aid for the last days?

We are eating at 12 Noon as a Zionic community.  We will be having a Dutch oven stew picnic with the actual teaching of how to cook over fire in a Dutch oven for those who want to learn.  This activity starts at 8:00 am.

Would any Saints be willing to bring cobblers or pies, and pioneer salads?

We have the following emergency preparedness topics covered, such as:
TOOLS how to keep tools sharp and ready for work
HOME REMEDIES how to create home remedies for healthcare from natural resources
CANNING/COOKING How to safely can food including making butter, preserves, ice cream, how to use your wheat
FARMING how to plant seeds, store your seeds, and what can grow in MO
DUTCH OVEN COOKING cooking over coals/fire starts at 8:00 am to build fire/coals Dutch oven stew starts at 9:00 am
SOAP how to make soap
WATER how to purify water
FIRE how to make fire or light without matches
72 HOUR KITS the purpose of these kits and essentials needed to complete them

We are providing the canopies and demonstration table for each booth.  This is a fun activity for all ages to enjoy!

If we are missing a topic; please let us know.
