It is with sadness, tempered by hope, that we announce the passing of Joe David, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and minister for the Community of Christ Church. Joe was born December 16, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Chariton, Iowa under the loving care of his parents, Henry and Mildred Donald.

Joe's life-long passion for education led him to pursue a master's degree in Physical Education and Parks and Recreation, shaping his path towards a life and career focused on community service, inclusiveness and well-being for all. Joe embodied unwavering faith, a deep love for his family and friends and a lasting commitment to serving others. His involvement as a board member of Habitat for Humanity and Animals Best Friends, as well as his active dedication to animal rescue initiatives confirmed his compassionate nature and desire to make a positive impact on all creatures in the world around him.

In his role as a minister, Joe touched countless lives with his wisdom, kindness, sensitivity and spiritual guidance. His leadership as president of regional districts for Community of Christ in Independence, Missouri, Lamoni, Iowa, and Central Missouri inspired those with whom he worked to strive for greater unity, deeper understanding and a strong sense of stewardship within their communities.
