Around and about the

Centre Place

November greetings to all the wonderful Saints

in the land down under. It is hard to believe that

we only have two more months in 2025. This has

certainly been a most unusual year, at least in

the USA, in many ways. As a singing group,

years ago, sang, "For the times, they are a

changing."

The one area in our lives that should only

change for the better and grow stronger every

day is our relationship with our Savior, Jesus

Christ. As long as we work diligently to keep

that relationship steadfast and sure, we can

handle what the adversary and the world

throws at us. We have a hymn titled, “O God,

Our Help... in ages past, our hope for years to

come.” It speaks of time as an ever-rolling

stream that carries everything away. But our

hope is in Jesus Christ and He has a plan for us,

both while on this earth, and in the here-after.

Another hymn, “Father, When In Love to Thee,”

speaks of time - that is, our stewardship of time.

It asks God to forgive us for the “times we've

stood, for the things of lesser good. And for

stewardship of time, we have spent, unlinked

with thine.” Many times, we all complain, and

say, “I don't have enough time!” I have heard

several references to Elbert A. Smith and Arthur

Oakman, who, when men of the priesthood

complained about working all day and coming

home and then going out to provide

ministry. The response was, All those men

you work with have the same obligations you

have, and they still find time to go to the bars,

sports events, etc. It has been said that “People

do what they want to do.” And I say, AMEN. If

I don't want to go to church, the slightest little

thing can keep me away. On the other hand, if I

want to go to church, there is essentially

nothing, within my own power and agency, that

can keep me away.

Some will say, “Yes, that's

ok, for you, but you don't

know my circumstances.”

That is totally true, BUT

God knows your circumstances and another line

of that hymn states, “In the midst of sin and

strife, teach us how to live a life, marked by

graces of new birth. Worthy of Thy Saints on

earth.”

Fall events are taking place around the Centre

area. Each weekend in November, people of

various ages came together at Odessa Hills

Campgrounds near Odessa, Missouri. These

campgrounds are owned and operated by the

ten Restoration Branches that make up the

Central Missouri area.

The Pastors of Zion (POZ), Conference of

Restoration Elders (CRE) and the Pastors of

Central Missouri (CMRB) are staying active in

providing ministry to the Saints. Center Place

Restoration School, (CPRS) is off to a good start

in another school year. The enrolment in K-12 is

about 225 students. it is one of the very few

Christian schools still operating in the

Independence area. May the Lord be with you

and keep you in His arms of Love.

Last days

Mat 24:25 And you also shall hear of wars and

rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled; for

all I have told you must come to pass. But the

end is not yet.

24:27 For as the light of the morning cometh out

of the east, and shineth even unto the west, and

covereth the whole earth, so shall also the

coming of the Son of Man be.

24:29 ...Behold, I speak unto you for mine elect's

sake.

24:30 For nation shall rise against nation and

kingdom against kingdom; there shall be

famine, and pestilences, and earthquakes in

divers places.

24:31 And again, because iniquity shall abound,

the love of men shall wax cold; but he that shall

not be overcome, the same shall be saved.

24:32 And again, this gospel of the kingdom

shall be preached in all the world for a witness

unto all nations; and then shall the end come, or

the destruction of the wicked.

24:34 And immediately after the tribulation of

those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the

moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall

fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall

be shaken.

24:36 Although the days will come that heaven

and earth shall pass away, yet my word shall not

pass away; but all shall be fulfilled.

24:38 And they shall see the Son of Man coming

in the clouds of heaven with power and great

glory.

24:39 And whoso treasureth up my words shall

not be deceived.

24:40 For the Son of Man shall come, and he shall

send his angels before him with the great sound

of a trumpet; and they shall gather together the

remainder of his elect from the four winds, from

one end of heaven to the other.

24:43 But of that day and hour no one knoweth;

no, not the angels of God in heaven, but my

Father only.

24:44 But as it was in the days of Noah, so it shall

be also at the coming of the Son of Man.

24:45 For it shall be with them as it was in the

days which were before the flood; for until the

day that Noah entered into the ark, they were

eating and drinking, marrying and giving in

marriage, and knew not until the flood came and

took them all away; so shall also the coming of

the Son of Man be.

24:46 Then shall be fulfilled that which is

written, that in the last days,

24:47 Two shall be in the field; the one shall be

taken and the other left.

24:48 Two shall be grinding at the mill; the one

taken and the other left.

24:49 And what I say unto one, I say unto all

men: Watch, therefore, for you know not at what

hour your Lord doth come.

24:51 Therefore, be ye also ready; for in such an

hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh.

Matthew 25:1-12 And then, at that day before the

Son of Man comes, the kingdom of heaven shall

be likened unto ten virgins, who took their

lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

25:2 And five of them were wise, and five of

them were foolish.

25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps and

took no oil with them; but the wise took oil in

their vessels with their lamps.

25:4 While the bridegroom tarried, they all

slumbered and slept.

25:5 And at midnight there was a cry made:

Behold, the bridegroom cometh! Go ye out to

meet him!

25:6 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed

their lamps.

25:7 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us

of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

25:8 But the wise answered, saying, Lest there be

not enough for us and you, go you rather to

them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

25:9 And while they went to buy, the

bridegroom came; and they that were ready

went in with him to the marriage, and the door

was shut.

25:10 Afterward came also the other virgins,

saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us.

25:11 But he answered and said, Verily, I say

unto you, You know me not.

25:12 Watch, therefore, for you know neither the

day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man

cometh.

Luke 21:24-28 Now these things he spake unto

them concerning the destruction of Jerusalem.

And then his disciples asked him, saying,

Master, tell us concerning thy coming.

21:25 And he answered them and said, In the

generation in which the times of the Gentiles

shall be fulfilled, there shall be signs in the sun,

and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the

earth distress of nations with perplexity, like the

sea and the waves roaring. The earth also shall

be troubled and the waters of the great deep,

21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear and for

looking after those things which are coming on

the earth. For the powers of heaven shall be

shaken.

21:27 And when these things begin to come to

pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for the

day of your redemption draweth nigh.

21:28 And then shall they see the Son of Man

coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Luke 21:36 And what I say unto one, I say unto

all: Watch ye, therefore, and pray always, and

keep my commandments, that ye may be

counted worthy to escape all these things, which

shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son

of Man when he shall come clothed in the glory

of his Father.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last

days perilous times shall come.

3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves,

covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,

disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers,

false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of

those that are good,

3:4 Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of

pleasures more than lovers of God,

3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the

power thereof. From such turn away.

3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into

houses and lead captive silly women laden with

sins, led away with divers lusts,

3:7 Ever learning and never able to come to the

knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 4:1-4 Now the Spirit speaketh

expressly, that in the latter times some shall

depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing

spirits and doctrines of devils,

4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their

conscience seared as with a hot iron,

4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to

abstain from meats, which God hath created to

be received with thanksgiving of them which

believe and know the truth.

4:4 For every creature of God is good, and

nothing to be refused, if it be received with

thanksgiving;

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For yourselves know

perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a

thief in the night.

5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety,

then sudden destruction cometh upon them as

travail upon a woman with child; and they shall

not escape.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 Yea, the Lord, even Jesus,

whose coming is not until after there cometh a

falling away, by the working of Satan with all

power, and signs, and lying wonders,

2:10 And with all deceivableness of

unrighteousness in them that perish, because

they received not the love of the truth, that they

might be saved.

2 Peter 2:1-2 But there were false prophets also

among the people, even as there shall be false

teachers among you, who privily shall bring in

abominable heresies, even denying the Lord that

bought them, and bring upon themselves swift

destruction.

2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious

ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall

be evil spoken of.

Second Peter 3:8-10 But concerning the coming

of the Lord, beloved, I would not have you

ignorant of this one thing--that one day is with

the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand

years as one day.

3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise

and coming, as some men count slackness, but

long-suffering toward us, not willing that any

should perish, but that all should come to

repentance.

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief

in the night, in the which the heavens shall

shake, and the earth also shall tremble, and the

mountains shall melt and pass away with a great

noise, and the elements shall be filled with

fervent heat; the earth also shall be filled, and the

corruptible works which are therein shall be

burned up.

Joel 2:27-32 And ye shall know that I am in the

midst of Israel and that I am the Lord, your God,

and none else; and my people shall never be

ashamed.

2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I

will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your

sons and your daughters shall prophesy; your

old men shall dream dreams; your young men

shall see visions;

2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the

handmaids in those days will I pour out my

Spirit.

2:30 And I will show wonders in the heavens

and in the earth--blood, and fire, and pillars of

smoke.

2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and

the moon into blood, before the great and the

terrible day of the Lord come.

2:32 And it shall come to pass that whosoever

shall call on the name of the Lord shall be

delivered; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem

shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and

in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

Zechariah 14:1-5 Behold, the day of the Lord

cometh; and thy spoil shall be divided in the

midst of thee.

14:2 For I will gather all nations against

Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken,

and the houses rifled, and the women ravished;

and half of the city shall go forth into captivity,

and the residue of the people shall not be cut off

from the city.

14:3 Then shall the Lord go forth and fight

against those nations as when he fought in the

day of battle.

14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the

Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on

the east; and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in

the midst thereof toward the east and toward the

west, and there shall be a very great valley; and

half of the mountain shall remove toward the

north, and half of it toward the south.

14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the

mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall

reach unto Azal; yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled

from before the earthquake in the days of

Uzziah, king of Judah; and the Lord, my God,

shall come, and all the saints with thee.

2 Peter 3:11-17 If, then, all these things shall be

destroyed, what manner of persons ought ye to

be in holy conduct and godliness,

3:12 Looking unto and preparing for the day of

the coming of the Lord, wherein the corruptible

things of the heavens, being on fire, shall be

dissolved, and the mountains shall melt with

fervent heat?

3:13 Nevertheless, if we shall endure, we shall be

kept according to his promise. And we look for

new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth

righteousness.

3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for

such things, be diligent, that ye may be found of

him in peace, without spot and blameless,

3:15 And account--even as our beloved brother

Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto

him, hath written unto you--the long-suffering

and waiting of our Lord for salvation.

3:16 (As also in all his epistles, speaking in them

of these things, in which are some things hard to

be understood, which they who are unlearned

and unstable wrest, as they do also the other

scriptures, unto their own destruction.)

3:17 Ye, therefore, beloved, seeing ye know

before the things which are coming, beware lest

ye also, being led away with the error of the

wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

Prepared!?

Behold, this is your work, to keep my

commandments

DC 10:10a

To be prepared and ready is to have the Holy

Spirit within us at all times. We do this by

keeping His commandments. The following is a

list of commandments I have collected which I

intend to work.

1. Trust ye in the Lord forever; for in the Lord

JEHOVAH is everlasting strength. Isa 26:4

2. But I say unto you, Love your enemies; bless

them that curse you; do good to them that

hate you; and pray for them which

despitefully use you and persecute you Mat

5:46

3. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the

Lord, thy God; in it thou shalt not do any

work Deu 5:14

4. But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray

always and not faint, that ye must not

perform anything unto the Lord, save in the

first place ye shall pray unto the Father in

the name of Christ that he will consecrate

thy performance unto thee, that thy

performance may be for the welfare of thy

soul. 2nd Nep 14:12

5. Asking for whatsoever things ye stand in

need, both spiritual and temporal, always

returning thanks unto God for whatsoever

things ye do receive. Alm 5:40

6. Pray about all things: fields, flocks, crops,

houses, household, your welfare and the

welfare of those around you, against the

power of your enemies and against the

devil. Alm 16:219-224

7. Confess your faults and pray for one

another that ye may be healed. The effectual

fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth

much. James 5:16

8. Pray for charity with all the energy of heart.

Moroni 7:52-53 “Wherefore, cleave unto

charity, which is the greatest of all, for all

things must fail; but charity is the pure love

of Christ, and it endureth forever; and

whoso is found possessed of it at the last

day, it shall be well with them. Wherefore,

my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father

with all the energy of heart, that ye may be

filled with this love which he hath bestowed

upon all who are true followers of his Son

Jesus Christ, that ye may become the sons of

God, that when he shall appear, we shall be

like him; for we shall see him as he is, that

we may have this hope, that we may be

purified, even as he is pure. Amen.”

9. Zion must be built by the principles of the

law of the celestial kingdom DC 102:2c...

Therefore let us be subject to her laws

DC102:9b

10. And both in private and in public

expenditure carry into active exercise the

principle of sacrifice and repression of

unnecessary wants. D&C 130:7d

11. Be clean; be frugal; cease to complain of

pain, and sickness, and distress of body;

take sleep in the hours set apart by God for

the rebuilding and strengthening of the

body and mind. DC 119:9a

12. Use wisdom in food preparation and in

what you eat. DC 86

13. See that ye love one another; cease to be

covetous; learn to impart one to another as

the gospel requires; cease to be idle; cease to

be unclean; cease to find fault one with

another DC 85:38a

you must work on and focus on one at a time. As

you conquer one, move on to the next.

The kingdom way

Let my dream of Zion be fulfilled each day

In some good work,

Not in the planning of a golden street

Or temple spire,

But in the building of a soul.

Where there is hunger,

Let me first take bread,

Then lead the way to fellowship

Within the house of God.

Where there is sorrow,

Let me take the faith that sees men through

Life’s sorest trials.

And where the seeds of hate grow strong,

Let me take love.

This I would do each day

And find my dream of Zion in the hearts

Of those I serve.
