LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD JULY 27, 2023

Greetings Dear Saints in every corner of the earth,

The last two weeks we have taken some comments from Charles Allen’s book, “God’s Psychiatry.” The way to think about God: “The Lord IS my Shepherd.” “God’s Rules for Living, “The Ten Commandments.” Today we consider “How to Talk to God,” “The Lord’s Prayer.” As we live in the Kingdom of God we must pray this prayer and not just say it, to think of Jesus Christ as our Shepherd and not just say it, to obey God’s rules and commandments and not just say them.

“Our Father” He is the King of His Kingdom. If we are living in His Kingdom we must honestly accept Him as our Father. A loving, nurturing, always present Father, not just a passing acquaintance.

“Who art in heaven,” In the first phase of the Lord’s Prayer is summed up the Christian life. “In heaven,” includes all our hopes. Meaning perfection. The word “heaven” signifies the quality of life toward which sincere Christians are striving and which should be demonstrated in our daily living.

“Hallowed be thy name” Every name has a meaning, thus God’s “name” means His nature revealed. “Hallowed be thy name” really means “Reveal thyself to me, O God.” Man can know God only as God chooses to reveal Himself. How does God reveal Himself to each of us in our daily living?

“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is done in heaven.” “Thy kingdom come,” means that I look into my own heart and plead for God’s cleansing power. It means that I bow before Him in faith and obedience.

“Thy will be done on earth.” To pray with power Jesus teaches us we must first get God in our minds and recognize His sovereignty. So we pray for His will to be done because it is the best and happiest way for us to live in the kingdom now. To pray “Thy will be done,” is really an enlistment for action, action to do His will rather than my own.

“As it is done in heaven.” One purpose for our being created and living on the earth is to prepare ourselves, with God’s help and direction to be permitted to live in His kingdom in its fullness and glory.

Jesus says in Matthew 6:9 ”Therefore after this manner shall ye pray, saying…” To be living in His kingdom, we must first of all, acknowledge God as our Father in all His Holiness and majesty, as the only One who knows our every need and can supply those needs. Then as we complete this prayer, “For THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY, FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.”

My mother passed away and we have 2 cemetery plots in New Salem Cemetery that we don't need. I have talked to the cemetery and we can sell them with no problem. They are Plot# 7022 Lot A and Plot# 7039 lot E. They are side by side. They currently sell for $1150 each. We are asking $800 or best offer each. Prayer Request for Nigeria Saints

Good morning father, prayer request for Nigeria church. We need prayer for the coming retreat of women and youth which the date had been fixed from August 5th to 10th 2023. The date is having challenges facing Nigeria Govt and Nigerian citizens. There are groups of people in South East freedom fighter for Biafra, given Govt threatening shot down 2 weeks sit at home in South East Close to South in venue portarcourt branch close to South East from early August ..if Govt did not release the leader from Detention for the pass 2year now. Please pray the will change their minds for them and Govt to come to agreement not embark on their actions. Secondly, Nigeria Labour Congress is threat to go on nationwide strike on August 2nd, if Govt will not find solutions to hardship in Nigeria because of removal of fuel subsidy that brought hardship on citizens costs things higher and transport. Which will still affect the retreat. We need for them and Govt to come to agreement to resolve the situation on the hardship on citizens. The transport fare to the portarcourt had jump from #25.000 to #35,000 per person. Litre of petrol ⛽ from 510 to 730. Food commodities at the market had jumped up now. Workers salaries can not sustained the situation. Students fees in higher education had increased from #186,000 to #420,000. Please Nigeria church and Nigeria Govt and citizens needs prayer from Saints, ARM BOARD and the Restoration branches in U.S. please prayers for Nigerian citizens. That will enable the Retreat to host before youths gets back to school after their holiday.

WONDER AND DISCOVERY

All of us know something about present and coming calamities on our nation and on the earth and that such things have been prophesied. None of our understandings of these things are complete or completely accurate. However, God knows all of this in detail. So an appeal, or petition, to Him for personal direction, and a careful examination of the scriptures he has provided are the most sure source of knowledge and direction. God gives us clear direction, responsibilities and duties (as well as limitless opportunities for wonder and discovery). For each of us, applying our personal responsibilities with long-term trust in Him, regardless of obstacles and roadblocks, is a vital key to the unlocking of our personal gifts of knowledge, understanding and direction.

Joining together in this quest for understanding, for reinforcing each other’s dedication to obedience, for direction in individual and cooperative application of our God-given skills and duties in the establishment of Kingdom-on-the-earth living…this is the quest of a growing group that call themselves Zionworks. We gather from various congregations and denominations with Jesus as our common bond. You are invited to investigate us in applying God’s direction in these last and vital days, and to experience the blessings of the Holy Spirit.

NEWS

Last Saturday’s workday was helping Jim and Laurie Huseby remove downed trees and limbs from their yard from the previous week’s winds and storm. An incredible amount of work was accomplished between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Trees and limbs were cut into firewood and loads of smaller branches were hauled off, leaving the 2 1/2-acre yard raked clean. Zionworks’ member and tree expert, Jim Musgrave, had estimated a day earlier that it would take at least twice as long as it actually did. Miracles can happen, even while having fun! We enjoyed a mid-morning break of orange juice and pastries, compliments of Jared and Rachel. Thanks, everyone.

Next semi-weekly meeting: This coming Sunday, July 30 downstairs at Central Branch, 919 South Delaware, Independence. Feel free to bring any bartering item that you think is useful, interesting or nutritious.

Workday, next Saturday, August 5th at Central Branch. Central has offered the use of a downstairs room for a Zionic storehouse. This room needs repairs, cleaning and shelving so it can be stocked. Bring any carpentry and cleaning tools and supplies. It has become customary for us to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant on these workdays! If this strains your budget, we will buy. You can read an explanation on the Storehouse and several related scriptural references in the preparedness guide. Ask for it, it’s free.

A WORD ABOUT CENTRAL BRANCH

Central Branch has offered the use of their church building, their prayers and their dedication to the coming Kingdom in any manner that God will use to make that happen. Their hopes, dreams and dedication are to see all of God’s children locally and of the world come together under him, under his terms and not on the terms of any man-made institution. They pray for any and all Godly endeavors from right here in Independence to anywhere in the world. Their friendship, worship and classes are entirely scripture-based while inviting the Holy Spirit to lead, and welcome all people. Though Zionworks is not a function of Central Branch, they are our proponent and friend working for the same cause—Jesus Christ—and his will on earth as it is in Heaven.
