Cleanup Day for the Cozart Family's Fire

We had a fire in December 31 and lost everything. Clean up has been coming along but we are at a stage where we need more help. The rest of the clean up will involve raking, shoveling, and bagging up debris. This is time consuming so the more hands on deck the more bearable this will be. If you have a youth group looking for a project or if you have some spare time February 3 at 9:00 a.m. We would be very thankful for your help!

Please reply to by email if you can come help so we know how many to expect!

Thank you!

Luis Ramirez Needs Job

Hello, my name is Tyler Ramirez. I live in Independence and attend Outreach RB. My family is gathering in at the end of February and beginning of the month of March. My father, Luis Ramirez, who works in sheet metal, will be in need of a steady job, to provide for my mother, and two younger siblings (ages 12 and 10.) He has done, roofing, concrete, mechanics and almost every area of construction you can think of. He is currently in sheet metal, so I was wondering if you would send an email to get the word out that my father will be in need of a job when my family arrives in the centerplace.

Thank you.

The Lord's Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance go Hand in Hand

------ Forwarded message ------
From: Muriel Luedeman

The Lord's Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance go Hand in Hand

Dear, Brothers and Sisters,

Muriel Luedeman here again.

The Jackson County Republican Committee meets the fourth Monday each month. Before the last committee meeting, the Spirit spoke to me saying, “The committee should pray the Lord’s prayer together before each meeting.” The thought that came to me as reason for doing it was that the Lord’s prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance were meant to go together. I asked Mark Anthony, the committee chairman for the favor of fulfilling that request. Mark Anthony has wholeheartedly supported everything I have proposed to him regarding actions of faith, therefore I wasn’t too surprised to have him ask me to offer the opening prayer. I didn’t speak to the committee members that night about making it a permanent practice. I simply asked the group to pray along with me.

Restoration believers know that God’s plan from the beginning was to establish this nation with the Kingdom and Zion the goal. He kept this continent hidden from the world until he had a people prepared to worship Him, the One True God in the land. That was fulfilled with the Pilgrim voyage to America. One of the Pilgrim group, John Winthrop, bore testimony to the work. His grave in Boston carries this epitaph:

“We shall be as a City upon a Hill, the eyes of all people are upon us”
These are the words of John Winthrop, the first governor of the
Massachusetts Bay Colony. Winthrop dedicated his life to the creation
of a model Christian community where people would live upright lives
of concern for each other and fulfill their obligations in God’s social
order. The people who joined Winthrop’s colony were not all the
same mind. Religion and Salvation of the soul were central to Puritan
life. But New England also offered great possibilities for material gain
and instead of a communal spirit, an increased individuality. Winthrop
died at age 61 in 1649, no doubt a disappointed man. He is buried here
along with his son and grandson, each a governor of Connecticut.
Although Winthrop’s vision of the new land was not completely realized,
other visions, hopes, and talents contributed to the wealth of commerce
and human activity that have distinguished Boston.”

It’s 369 years since Winthrop’s death and his vision remains incomplete. I declare that John’s vision which he received from the Lord, is about to be fulfilled. The purpose of this Christian nation is to be the hands and feet of the Father to establish His Kingdom and His will on Earth as Jesus prayed nearly 2000 years ago. Jesus’ began that process with the words, “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.”

Yesterday, January 27th, I sat in our daily prayer group. Kathy Adams, one of the group shared a Word she received loud and clear from the Father just before coming to prayers. “ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.” And then He asked her a question, “Has this nation ever experienced that in its years of existence?” She posed the question to us before she answered. We all confessed it never has happened - being one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. We are a nation of materialistic individuals with self-serving aims.

I was stirred by the Lord’s Words, which powerfully confirmed the direction I received on January 22nd, that we pray the Lord’s prayer along with the Pledge of Allegiance. For I saw that the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord’s prayer must go hand in hand if we are to accomplish both goals. We are to be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, SO THAT, God’s kingdom will come and his will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Likewise, when Christians, as John Winthrop and the Pilgrim Fathers, obey the two great commandments, to love God with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves, daily, we WILL BE one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. ONE NATION, not a pot of selfish individuals. One body of Jesus followers, united, not many churches scattered with walls of doctrine minutia, and traditions dividing us.

So, as the committee gathers next month, I asked them to consider praying the Lord’s Prayer together and make it the preamble to the Pledge of Allegiance. And let it not become mere ritual but declare it with the same fervor as we do the Pledge. Then, we can count on the hosts of heaven to be stirred to action in our behalf. They, and God himself, will lead us to fulfill the vision He gave John Winthrop, a community where people live lives of concern for each other and fulfill their obligations in God’s social order.

I was also shown that in two years we will see a transformation toward this divine end, starting in the Kansas City metro area, specifically Independence, with the Saints. It has been 398 years since our Pilgrim fathers and mothers landed in the new world. Two years makes 2020, the 400-year anniversary. It’s a big job, but it is easier and more joyful than we can even imagine. All we must do is Love God, and Love All People. Therefore, I encourage you with everything that is in me to bless as many people as you can with praise, encouragement, forgiveness, mercy, grace, justice, support, comfort, and prayer, every day. So, let’s start our engines, fire them up, and finally, finally get the job done.

In God’s and your service,
Muriel Luedeman

Francis Harper Message for 1/26/2018

From: Francis Harper
wbfrmsup@iowatelecom.net

Francis Harper Message for 1/26/2018

Dear Ones,

Have we entered “the fellowship of his sufferings?” We cannot expect to be numbered with the joint heirs of Christ unless we have also suffered with him. Paul wrote: “The Spirit beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if it so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be named with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:16-18).

Are we willing to cramp our style in doing for others? Are we seeking first to build up the kingdom? Are we living by the golden rule; doing unto others as we would have them do unto us? Are we willing to go the extra mile? Turn the other cheek? Give until it feels good? Give extravagantly as the one who gave the two mites? Give full measure, pressed down and running over? Forgive those who trespass against us? Pray for those who despitefully use and persecute us? Feed his sheep and lambs? Present our bodies as a living sacrifice?

Are we willing to lay down our lives for our friends and for others we may not know? I have been inspired by the martyrdom of Maximilian Kolbe at Auschwitz, 1941.

“Auschwitz, 1941. The sergeant, a tough professional soldier, has just been fingered by an SS man for one of the cruelest deaths here. He is to be shut up naked in an empty, subterranean cell and left without food or water until he dies. Grown men, not too numbed by terror, weep and wail at such a sentence. This victim is no exception. He is sobbing over his wife and children, and saying he doesn’t want to die. The SS ignore him.

Suddenly another prisoner, breaking ranks, asks to take the condemned man’s place. Even the SS are stunned. Having reduced the personal identities of twenty thousand Poles to numbers, for once they want to know more about a victim. “Who are you?” one SS man asks number 16,670. “A Catholic priest,” the prisoner replies. “I have no family,” he adds, as though that explains everything. An undercurrent runs through the camp: “It’s Father Kolbe.” Even those who are not his friends recognize the name – the famous Franciscan, the editor, publisher, and opinion-molder whose publications were so influential in prewar Poland.

What is he thinking of? Even the Bible of his faith says only, “Greater love than this has no man – that he lay down his life for a friend.” The doomed man is not even a friend of Kolbe’s. “Well, you see,” one of Kolbe’s intimates interjects, “to Father Kolbe everyone is a friend.” “Now there’s a Polish hero for you!” someone exclaims. “A real saint,” murmurs another. “A fool, you mean,” mutters a third.

“Pray that I will love without any limits,” Maximilian Kolbe had written his mother when still in his twenties. That prayer, feel those who knew him, has been abundantly answered. They point to Kolbe’s turning the Franciscan friary he founded into a hospice for displaced Polish Jews, gentiles, and German invaders alike, with a sense of brotherhood that simply did not include the words “enemy” or “unlovable” in its vocabulary.

Those who can say, “I was a friend of Maximilian Kolbe,” insist he was not only a hero and “another St. Francis” but so down to earth, so simple, so fully, joyously human in his laughter and jokes, his heartaches and sufferings, his problems and pains, that he was the most approachable of friends.

He was a flesh-and-blood man who gave his life totally to God in service to humanity long before he sealed that gift by bearing the burden of another man’s death.” (A Man for Others, Patricia Treece.)

Love to All,
Francis Harper

The Fellowship of His Sufferings

Paul wrote: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” (Philippians 3:10).

Peter also wrote of suffering: “For even hereunto were ye called; because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example [a pattern, a prototype], that ye should follow his steps” (1 Peter 2:21).

John agrees with Peter and Paul: “Hereby perceive [understand] we the love of Christ, because he laid down his life for us; …we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16).

Jesus adds: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).

The natural man does not relish the thought of sufferings and dying. But this is precisely what Jesus asks of us.

There is a great difference between the life of the self-seeking natural man and the self-denying life of those who follow Jesus. Jesus says to every would-be follower: “If any man [person] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16: 25 I.V.; 16: 24 KJV).

The cross reminds us of the One who suffered for us. He has said if we are not ready and willing to take up our cross we cannot be his disciple. That means we are called to enter the fellowship of his sufferings. Note the word is sufferings, plural. Did Jesus suffer more on Calvary than he did in Gethsemane where “…he sweat as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground”? (Luke 22:44). There are many kinds of suffering.

It is not likely that many of us will be crucified on a cross, or be physically tortured. It is more likely that we will suffer as did Jesus when he wept over Jerusalem, saying, “O Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Ye who will kill the prophets, and will stone them who are sent unto you; how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings and ye would not.” (Matthew 23:37). Those who love much, suffer much.

Luke’s account of the Lord’s calling of his disciples to the way of the cross adds a very significant word the other gospel writers omitted. Luke included the word daily: “…the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9: 22-23).

Jesus suffered many things. Entering into the fellowship of his sufferings is much more than a once in a lifetime matter. It is the daily exercise of self denial and self discipline of putting the purposes of God and the needs of others ahead of our own.

At first glance this does not seem to be a joyous route to take. But “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross…and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

Peter assures us of the glorious rewards which will accrue for those who enter the fellowship of his sufferings. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you…” (1 Peter 4:12-14).

Desperate Need

Desperate Need

I have become aware of a mother in a desperate situation and she has allowed me to share her story here. This mother suffered from mental illness for many years and as a result had her daughter removed from her care. It has taken several years of hard work and dedication but she is going to be awarded custody of her daughter again! Everything is moving forward. Her court date is April 2. The division of family services is saying that they do not have adequate space to bring her daughter home to live in her current apartment. The housing authority will not give her a bigger apartment until she actually has the custody paper in hand. The courts will not give her custody until she has a bigger place...she is stuck and desperate. She needs a place to stay until she gets custody, can then get on the waiting list for a larger apartment, and then gets accepted to a larger place. If you have an available place please make it a matter of prayer. If you have a place that you could offer temporary housing for this family please let me know! She has worked VERY hard for several years so she could be reunited with her child. Please help!

Prayerfully,
Laura Cozart

OAKMAN THOUGHTS FOR TODAY: 1/23/2018

The TRUTH of ALL Things -
From the House of Bread.

OAKMAN THOUGHTS FOR TODAY: 1/23/2018
REVELATION
And OUR APPROACH TO DIVINITY - continued -
Arthur A. Oakman

All right, if you've got your outline the first point is,

The most important thing in the process of worship is the conception of
God which the individual who worships, holds.

Next we see things as we are. We see things as we are. And most of
our theology is but a reflection of our own conceptions, ourselves.
When Elbert A. Smith writes "What Latter Day Saints Believe About God,"
what do you have? You have the best revelation of Elbert A. Smith and
the grace of God in his life that you can get. Don't you?
Listen. Man is the measure of all things. That comes down to us in Greek
philosophy. Protagoras said that, many years before Christ.
Man is the measure of all things. A good man is a good measure.
A wicked man is a bad measure. A perfect man is a perfect measure.
Now that's so important, and if you see the implications of that you
can see that all these conceptions of divinity that we have been
talking about stem from the kind of people that hold them.
Brigham Young was a doubter and a polygamous man, and to sanction
his way of life and to set himself at rest in himself,
he had to postulate a God who was like he was.

And so, as the ancient scripture says in the Psalms,
"Thou thoughtest altogether wickedly that I was such a one
as thyself." Now we are always doing that. We're always putting
ourselves in the place of God. We do that with our children.
Have you noticed many, many times that we don't really love our children.
We love ourselves in our children. And many, many times we do them
a great injustice because we're so imperfect and we perpetuate the
imperfections in the lives of our children with which we ourselves
are afflicted, and God Himself is under the same necessity.
He cannot do any more for us than what He himself is.

Now I'm preaching. I shouldn't do that, should I?
"Thou thoughtest that I was such a one as thyself." Psalm 50.
You know the ancient scripture from Isaiah,
"My ways are not your ways, neither are my thoughts your thoughts,
for as the heavens are higher than the earth," and so on and so forth.
What we are determines what we see and conceive, and reinforces it.
And as we are reinforced in the process of worship, in that way we
are simply confirming ourselves in our own wickedness, and we are
caught in a vicious chain of cause and effect from which we ourselves
cannot be delivered by ourselves.

Comments and the remains of the day:

This nation is finally, to some degree, beginning to
wake up - to be awakened - the evil and perverse
things, events, situations ,and activity which are
going on right in plain sight, right under our noses.
And the most of main stream everything - media, politicians,
leaders, elites, have been very busy selling us down the river,
enacting laws which are solely for their benefit at the
expense of the truth and of we, the people. The tell tale
accounts of "secret societies" are coming forth and
you and all of us need to understand that unless
these are done away with, we shall be bondage far
more than we already are.

We need to be praying so earnestly for our president and
those around him who are seeking the Truth of All Things.

We have in our possession the WORD of God which very clearly
describes these scenarios and situations which are timely
and germane to our day. The All Knowing God directed and
caused to be brought forth the accounts of a nation who
fell away from following God.
"Yea, they began to remember the prophecies of Alma, and also the
words of Mosiah; and they saw that they had been a stiff-necked people,
and that they had set at nought the commandments of God;
And that they had altered and trampled under their feet the laws
of Mosiah, or that which the Lord commanded him to give unto the people;
And thus seeing that their laws had become corrupted, and that they
had become a wicked people, insomuch that they were wicked even
like unto the Lamanites. And because of their iniquity, the church
had begun to dwindle; and they began to disbelieve in the spirit
of prophecy, and in the spirit of revelation; and
*** the judgments of God did stare them in the face. ***
And they saw that they had become weak, like unto their brethren,
the Lamanites, and that the Spirit of the Lord did no more preserve them;
yea, it had withdrawn from them, because the Spirit of the Lord doth
not dwell in unholy temples;"
Helaman 2:53 - 59

"Ye were also in the beginning with the Father; that which is Spirit,
even the Spirit of truth; and truth is knowledge of things as they are,
and as they were, and as they are to come; and whatsoever is more or
less than this, is the spirit of that wicked one, who was a
liar from the beginning."
Sec. 90:4b

And for years and even continuing on to this day, we have those elites
among us in the church. They seek to divert your mind and
your eyes away from the knowledge of things as they really are.
And as the scriptures say above - The Lord's WORDS, not mine -
That anything - ANYTHING - that is more or less that this
knowledge, is the spirit of the wicked one, the spirit of
the liar, a liar, even the father of lies and they who persist
to turn your eyes and mind away from the Truth of All Things,
are led by and/or are deceived by that wicked and evil one.

The Gospel of Jesus is PURE and is LIGHT and TRUTH !!
And to those teach and preach and "sculpt and craft" the
development of human kind, this is what the
scriptures say:
"And the words which I have written in weakness, will
HE make strong unto them; for it persuadeth them to do good;
it maketh known unto them of their fathers; and
it speaketh of Jesus, and persuadeth them to believe in HIM,
and to endure to the end, which is life eternal.
And it speaketh harsh against sin, according to the plainness
of the truth; wherefore, no man will be angry at the words
which I have written, save he shall be of the spirit of the devil.
I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus,
for HE hath redeemed my soul from hell.
I have charity for my people, and great faith in Christ,
that I shall meet many souls spotless at his judgment seat."
II Nephi 15:5-8

To the elites and to us all, to "my brethren of the church",
Jesus said: "Repent and I will receive you"

Preparing for the Birth - Gathering for Women

Preparing for the Birth - Gathering for Women

Dear, Sisters in Christ,

On January 13th, Sister Yvonne Galusha hosted a day-long gathering of women to discuss Zion, and the Kingdom of Heaven at hand. She had no agenda except to afford her fellow sisters the opportunity to share and consider Zion what we can to do as women to prepare. The conversation was lively, joyful, passionate, and motivating. Notes were taken of the many things the women shared – our dreams of what Zion will be like, many encouraging dreams and visions from the Holy Spirit, and what the Lord is showing of His heart, and what we can do to allow Him to use us to bring Zion forth. Also, many testimonies of the work in progress were all shared. Women had good suggestions of how to prepare temporally and spiritually for the glorious birth of Jesus' child. The day was so rich and bright with the Light of Christ that we wanted to keep it going and include more women. We all came away with the hope that what began that day will grow and much fruit come from it.

I have to say that in all my years in the Restoration, (61 years), I have never, ever experienced a retreat or women’s gathering like Prepare for the Birth. We had a real feast as each woman expressed her desires and knowledge of Zion. I came away completely refreshed, full of hope, joy, and renewed strength for the days ahead, knowing I stood with fellow comrades in the fight for Zion, that we will be victorious, and now is the time for the Birth.

Our desire is to have more gatherings - regular, ongoing sessions where sisters can pray, network, stay focused, be encouraged, be inspired, learn more ways they can assist, and combine forces in this great and marvelous work. And not only talk, but do! So, to make this a reality, the next Prepare for the Birth gathering is planned, see the invitation below.

Also, check out the website at: http://prepareforthebirth.org for more information. It is a tool for all women who want to help prepare for the birth of Zion. The hope is that many will contribute to the site content, just email prepareforthebirth@gmail.com, if you have things to share.

PLEASE, share this invitation with women who may not have internet access, and come, be inspired February 4th at the next session of Prepare for the Birth!

Yours in Christ Jesus,
Muriel Winn Luedeman

OAKMAN THOUGHTS FOR TODAY: 1/20/2018

REVELATION And OUR APPROACH TO DIVINITY - continued -
Arthur A. Oakman

If any of you ever have time, of course you don't any of you
ever have time, but if any of you ever have time and want really
to engage in a course of study that, will repay you a thousand fold,
if it takes you five years to wade through it, get ahold of
"The Golden Bough" by Sir James Fraser and read some of the things
which are germane to the primitive form of worship.

In India a woman conceives the best way that she can worship
her God is to throw a new born child into the Ganges, which is
considered a holy river, and many offerings have been made
to the river, as the source of life by these people who consider
it as most worthwhile. If you want a more modern and a more
recent illustration of what I mean think of Brigham Young.
Think of him who conceived God in the form of a man. Think of
him who thought God was a polygamist, who stated specifically
in addresses which are published and have gone abroad that
Adam is our God, the only God with which we have to do, and
when he came into the world he brought Eve, one of his wives,
with him. He believed God was a polygamist and found sanction for
his way of life and the promulgation of his doctrines, as did
those of his associates who so believed in the taking to themselves
of more than one wife, and they did it, many of them, in sincerity,
because they believed God was that kind of a deity.

Sincerity is important. Let no one deny that. It is the man
who is the most sincere, rather than the man who is the cleverest,
very often, who comes at the truth. Sincerity is important.
But it is not all-important. The Apostle Paul was undoubtedly
sincere in his persecution of the Christians, but he believed
in the God of the old testament who was vengeful and who was
jealous, and he saw no incompatibi1ity in his own life in putting
away the Christians to be killed than he did putting away stray dogs
and cats. He figured, perhaps, that God made Christians just like
He did snakes and 1izards and, believing that he just had no more
respect for the Christians than to cast them into prison, and he
did it in all sincerity because, you see, his conception of God
stemmed from the old testament and as you look back into the
old testament and see how the pure revelation of divinity was
mutilated and got into the hands of those vengeful, warring peoples,
you will discover why it was that the Apostle Paul, in sincerity,
cast the Christians into the fire.

We have other illustrations in our own day. You will discover in
the early sections of the Doctrine and Covenants, when the gospel had
gone forth from New York into Ohio, there were a lot people there who
began praying sincerely that the Lord would stay His hand in judgment,
that He wouldn't do to them what He said He was going to do.
And in their concern they prayed earnestly, and in faith, and the
good book says, my people in Ohio pray to me with much faith, thinking I will stay
my hand in judgment, but I cannot deny my work. Now Joseph, you and Oliver go over
there and educate those folk, and give to them a fresh and new conception of
the processes of life which center in Me, or words to that effect.

The Apostle Paul believed in a just, austere, jealous God. The people in
Ohio believed in a sentimental deity, someone who because of His good feelings
toward men would suspend the laws of eternal judgment in order that
they might be spared.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Comments and the remains of the day:
And if you want more modern and a more
recent illustration, think of the recent
canard of the "brazilian" hoax that seeks
to teach and introduce into the minds and
consciousness of people, at least those
who do NOT treasure up the WORD of God, for
in NOT treasuring up the WORD of God they
have been, are, and will be deceived; this
recent heresy that somehow God changes just
to suit the whim of someone, no matter now
"sincere" they might be.

And on a much wider scale and is rampant
across CRE, COC, JCRB, Remnant, LDS, and
all other "stripes" of the restoration, is
indeed this mindset and "teaching":
"The people in Ohio believed in a sentimental deity,
someone who because of His good feelings
toward men would suspend the laws of eternal judgment
in order that they might be spared."

This mindset and philosophy, for it is certainly
NOT scriptural, is the restoration equivalent
for many protestant themes, including
once saved, always saved. This is the result of
and the continued promulgation and teaching of
some of those in high places, who seek to
maneuver and sculpt and "develop" the human
being - these things have nothing to do with
developing and maturing and exercising the
faith of persons, individuals, a people,
a priesthood, a church - in short, the
body of Christ. These are they who are also being deceived
with and by the wisdom of men.

The scriptures say there is a condition to which and
by which a people are spared:
"O all ye that are spared, because ye were more righteous
than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of
your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?
verily I say unto you, If ye will come unto me,
ye shall have eternal life."

Some would have us consider the trials of Job instead of
realizing the state in which we, as a people, are really in -
no matter how sincere to consider Job may be,
in this way this is divisive and is NOT considering those
things as they really are. Many other themes are brought to
bear by some in order to divert our eyes from really
realizing the state, no matter how awful it may be,
to not realize the state we are in.

Some would have us consider and hide behind a seemingly
"familiar spirit" of plates to come forth, many voices
would impose and promote the canard that the Lord
has NOT kept His WORD nor will He be true to
His WORD nor do those things as He SAID and in the
MANNER HE WOULD perform them.
This is both delusional and despicable.

Soon we shall hear the State of The Union address from
our president. I pray we are all praying for
our president and the nation, for unless lies
and deception and all manner of evil and deceit
are eradicated, this divided house shall not
ultimately stand. Such actions and behaviors
led to the demise of a nation led by Pahoran
and defended by Captain Moroni - the
enemy was the "kingmen" who sought to disrupt and
destroy a nation under God.

We have the same scenarios in the "church" today -
The elites of every group,
CRE, COC, JCRB, Remnant, LDS, and
all other "stripes" of the restoration,
the elites would lead "the people"
into forbidden paths.

We must keep our eyes on the world in
which we are in, we must know of things
and events and scenarios as they really are.
Then and only then, when we have explored the
depths of our thinking and actions and our
responses and our souls and come to the
realization that where we are is NOT working,
in fact it is life threatening
(as did Peter outside of the boat);
then and only then as we realize that
WE MUST call upon Jesus, then and only then
will our "cry be truly sincere" and then,
by HIS GRACE and HIS MERCY, then The Lord Jesus
will "spare" those who HE will.

The account of Peter in the boat and the account
of Alma the Younger, are such wonderful accounts
and real life events for our learning and
understanding. Let us consider this
Godly wisdom and NOT the continued
"feeding" of the wisdom of men.

Yes, let us keep our eyes upon Jesus.
Yes, let us never be discouraged
"TRUST THE FATHER's WORD"

I pray the day shall quickly come when the
cowardice displayed by so many of the
priesthood in the
CRE, COC, JCRB, Remnant, LDS, and
all other "stripes" of the restoration,
when they shall take courage and
Stand as men of God, not continue
as lackeys of the elites.

Come quickly Lord Jesus -

Jesus said: "Repent and I will receive you"

Francis Harper Message for 1/19/2018

Francis Harper Message for 1/19/2018

Dear Ones,

The word resolute is defined as being firm, determined, steady, bold and faithful. Those who keep their resolutions will be resolute through every weakness and obstacle. Overcoming severe trials requires resoluteness.

Has anyone been more severely tried than Job? After losing his wealth and family, his body was stricken with boils from head to toe! In spite of all this, Job remained faithful. He received no consolation from his wife and friends. He stood alone with God and said, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him…” (Job 13:15).

Job’s testimony, born out of adversity, should be engraved upon the fleshly tables of our hearts. His testimony, coupled with our own, will fortify us for the battles ahead of us: “Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth; And though after my skin worms destroy this body; yet in my flesh shall I see God; Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold…” (Job 19:23-27).

The question is often asked: “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Paul answers this question: “My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him; For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?...Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees…”(Hebrews 12: 5-12).

One couple who had lost several children prayed, “Lord, if you have more to teach us, keep pouring it [pain and suffering] on!” Several families in our church at Woodbine have suffered tragic losses: one family suffered the loss of their sixteen year old son, their only son, to polio, after only three days of sickness; a sixteen year old daughter died of Spinal Meningitis: a father backed over his two year old son with his tractor; a husband and father of two young sons was electrocuted and lost an arm and a leg; an eighteen year old daughter, of another family, was killed in a traffic accident. The list could go on but in every case just mentioned, the families endured and were even stronger in faith than before.

“But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire…And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness” (Malachi 3:2-3).

Never Be Discouraged

“Never be discouraged, trust the Father’s word, In the time of trial let His voice be heard; Trusting in His promise, though the waiting long, He will surely bless us; praise Him with a song.” Refrain: “Praise Him, trust the Father’s word, Praise Him, let His voice be heard; Praise Him, though the waiting long, Praise him, praise him with a song.” “Never be discouraged, if along our way disappointments meet us, tempting us to stray; Closely cling to Jesus, ask Him for His grace, In his words of comfort find a resting place.” Refrain:… “Never be discouraged, patiently endure, God doth often test us, trials make us pure; Soon will come the reaping, then with joy we’ll sing, Praise the Lord of harvest, praise the heav’nly King.” Refrain:… (Hymns of the Restoration #287).

Love To All,
Francis Harper

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Resolute

Are we resolute?; firm and determined in keeping our resolutions? Our covenants? Ever faithful? Christians are called to be resolute. “Therefore, my beloved brethren [and sisters too], be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Jesus was resolute. “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:52). Undoubtedly Jesus recalled these words of Isaiah as he set his face toward Jerusalem: “The Lord God hath appointed mine ears, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters…I hid not my face from shame and spitting, for the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded; therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed, and the Lord is near and he justifieth me. Who will contend with me? let us stand together. Who is mine adversary? let him come near me, and I will smite him with the strength of my mouth; for the Lord will help me” (Isaiah 50:5-6).

The behavior of the disciples of Jesus who followed him to Jerusalem and the cross was despicable. Would we have done better? Peter was so sure of himself when he said, “Lord,…I will lay down my life for thy sake” (John 13:37). When Jesus was suffering in Gethsemane, Peter and the others were sleeping. And Jesus said: “Watch and pray that ye enter [yield] not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing; but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:38 IV; 26:41 KJV).

All of us can agree and identify with these words of Jesus. Although we have great aspirations, goals, resolutions and intentions; in the flesh, we are very weak. If we expect to attain Christ-likeness and celestial glory with all the accompanying benefits, we must learn to rely on the Lord to help us. He stands by to help when we pray, Lord help me! Peter cried, “Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him…” (Matthew 14:25-26 IV; 14:30-31 KJV).

We will face oppositions, struggles, trials and discouragements. When we encounter these “bumps’ in the road we need to turn quickly to the Lord, as instinctively as a child runs to mother when they get in trouble. He will help us.

All of us have an occasional “blue Monday”. I wrote in the margin of my Bible: “I read this on a day I was down, 10-24-90, I then added an arrow pointing to Isaiah 41, beginning with verse 9 and continuing through Verse 14: “…Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee”. Three times in this scripture the assuring words “I will help thee” are written. It was as if the Lord himself was standing beside me, with his hand on my shoulder, speaking these words to me. I was strengthened and could say with Paul, “I can do all things through Christ which [who] strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

Years later, I was pleased to read in the autobiography of Charles Derry as he referred to Isaiah 41: 10-13: “the above scripture was a tower of strength to me, for which I thank God for his fostering care over me”. Charles Derry was a resolute disciple of Jesus. His epitaph reads: “Ever Faithful”; fitting words for a faithful servant. Charles could have spoken the words of Paul: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness… and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

May the Lord find each of us faithful when he suddenly comes to greet his saints!

Saints in St. Louis Area

From: Andrew King
Andrew_King@ooida.com

Saints in St. Louis Area

Dear Saints,

In these pretentious times in which we live, it is important that we find strength in our Lord Jesus Christ as well as in our fellowship with one another. One essential principle of Zion is that we meet together oft, “for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).” While places such as Independence, MO are abundantly blessed with members and priesthood so that they can meet together to worship and to fellowship, many other areas are not.

It is important to remember our brethren in other parts of the country while we strive to build up the Center Place. Therefore, I would like to presently call on those church members who live in the St. Louis area to see if there are those who are already meeting together and or those individuals who would like to meet. Additionally, if you know of others in the St. Louis area who would be interested in learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, please contact Andrew King by email at: Andrew.King.87@outlook.com
or by phone (call or text) at: 816-255-5686

God bless,
Your brother in Christ,
Andrew King, an elder at Outreach Restoration Branch

Prayer and Fasting for the Sick

From: Paul Gage
pauljg_64055@yahoo.com

Prayer and Fasting for the Sick

Dear Saints,

You all know we have been strongly encouraged to pray and seek God's guidance in every aspect of our lives.

We know that James 5:16 says that the "effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (person) availeth much".

Paul in Ephesians 6 reminds us that we are involved in spiritual warfare and tells the armor of God that we should put on. This armor is not put on like we put on our clothes, but is put on by the lives we live and if those lives reflect our obedience to God's commandments.

In Matthew 17:15-21 Jesus said that with certain types of things (demonic spirits) that this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

It is obvious that the Saints of God are under attack from the adversary as much or more than those "of the world." Could it be that God has a great plan for each of us and the adversary is seeking to keep us from God's blessings?

Almost every branch has a prayer list that is very long, which is an indication of the need for the Saints to be healed.

I know that a tremendous number of Saints have been praying for healing of the Saints and a recent 8 year old, who was just baptized in November said to his family, "Why don't we fast?"

Would we, as the "Body of Christ" be willing to sacrifice and set aside a time each day for fasting and prayer that the Spirit of healing from Almighty God might sweep through His Saints and bring that healing? Not because any of us "deserve" it, but

TO THE HONOR AND GLORY OF GOD AND THE EFFECTS OF HIS HEALING WOULD BRING FORTH MIGHTY TESTIMONIES
AND SERVICE IN THE FUTURE BY THOSE HEALED.

Each one can decide for themselves how they might do this, but be specific. Don't just say I will fast and pray. Say and write it down, I will fast one meal per day (or whatever you choose) and pray at a set time or times, each day. Fasting can be anything from a total fast, no food or drink, for a specific time to a partial fast, Daniel 1 and Daniel 10 and others throughout the scriptures.

Let us consider Sunday, January 14 through Sunday, January 21, 2018 as a point of beginning.

God bless and keep you
Paul Gage
