LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD AUGUST 28, 2025

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD AUGUST 28, 2025

Blessings and Greetings to all the Saints in all the World,

As we work our way through 2025, eight months are nearly gone and the rest is going fast. What is God’s Kingdom like where you live? We all continue to find many obstacles in our efforts to live a “Kingdom life.” Many times Saints ask each other and God, “Why are we going through so much conflict, suffering, afflictions of various sorts, and so forth. Perhaps the following scriptures have much of the answer.

Hebrews 11 is the New Testament “Faith Hall of Fame” as is Ether 5 in the Book of Mormon. Especially note Hebrews 11:40. Take time to also read Ether 5, especially verses 28 and 29. Jude, in his short chapter of only 25 verses also has some excellent counsel for Saints living for and in the Kingdom.

The only time mankind “had it made,” was in the Garden of Eden. We forfeited that condition and ever since have found ourselves struggling against the adversary as we seek to “find our way” back to the Kingdom. We know that God knows our every trial, struggle, tribulation, etc. and because we know that, we can, as the song says, “face tomorrow” and every minute of every day.

A few illustrations: “On the Bubble” Each year, in college basketball, they have the big tournament at the end of the season, to see who gets into the Kingdom, ooopps, tournament. Teams that have good win/loss records are assured of a place in the tournament, but some teams are “On the Bubble” and have to wait until the last minute before knowing whether they are in or out. We don’t want to be a “foolish virgin” and have our bubble burst and be left out.

“The Right Track” Two men had seated themselves comfortably in the coach car of the train and were enjoying getting to know each other. A porter came by and told them they needed get on the next car. When they asked why, he said because this car is not hooked on to anything and isn’t going anywhere. Is your “Kingdom car, your life” fastened firmly to the Rod of Iron? If not, you better make some trusted connections.

“Squirrelly:” Some years ago, a comedy singer recorded a song called: ”Mississippi Squirrel Revival” A young boy takes a squirrel to church which of course gets loose and starts running all over the church and the people. The people do not see the squirrel and think it is the Holy Ghost. WOW!! Don’t let this squirrelly world we live in turn you from the “True Holy Ghost.”

To remind us of a well-loved hymn, entitled “Admonition: by Elder Joseph Luff, a seven verse message given to Brother Luff by God, verse four states: “Time is ripe! MY work must hasten! Who so will, may bide the hour…you finish the verse.

Doctrine and Covenants 32:1d says” ...it is the eleventh hour and for the last time…” If it was the eleventh hour in October, 1830,where does that put us now? Where it puts us, each of us, now, is not as important as are we ready for the call of the Lord?

U.S. President John F. Kennedy once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask, what can you do for my country” Jesus might say to us: “Ask not what Zion (the Kingdom) can do for you—ask “Am I living a kingdom quality life that will show others what Zion (Kingdom life”) is like?”

God bless and keep you

Australian Restoration Newsletter

September 2025

Around and about the Centre Place

By High Priest Paul Gage, Independence, Missouri

God's Blessings upon all the Saints of Australia.

I trust the good Lord God Almighty has been and continues to bless each of you in His special way, as you go through each day. I doubt there is a person in the world who does not have daily struggles in dealing with life. How marvelous it is that we have Jesus Christ as our Savior, Shepherd, Light, Life, and all the other names by which He is known. I love, so much, the promise in DC 83:15 C. It tells us that there is no part of our lives that go without His watch, care, and protection. Also the angels being around us to bear us up.

Brothers and Sisters of all ages, don't ever forget how valuable and precious you are, as one individual, to our Lord Jesus Christ. He knows our every struggle, doubt, fear, and concern, and is always true to His promise. He was praying for each of us in John 17:20. As He was praying for the disciples then, He prayed for you and me, because it says, "For them also which shall believe on Me through their word." We know the disciples, after Jesus ascended into Heaven, took the gospel to the world and the Church was established in many areas, and the rest is history. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ today because someone shared the same gospel they had received from another and so the gospel is now to us in our day to share with all we can.

Jesus came to save us from our sins, so He knew we would sin. Many times we get down on ourselves and feel unworthy. That is when we need to go to God in mighty prayer and repentance and ask forgiveness for our sins. It is a promise that when we sincerely repent, He will forgive us. I like the scripture in Philippians 1 especially verse 6. Read the whole chapter and be revived in Christ. You can pull up the lyrics to this song on the net. Look for "He who began a good work in you." I also like I Corinthians 10:13 for the promise of Jesus. Many people misquote this verse by leaving off the last sentence. He shows us the way out of temptation. That verse is the same in the King James Version as it is in the Inspired Version, so no follower of Christ has to remain "lost," because the "way out" is to run to Jesus.

The reunion and camp season is history ... His Story! Do you have a testimony of "His Story?" Share it. It would be great to have some testimonies from Australia for the Tidings of Zion.

The Pastors of Zion Summer preaching series has also concluded. It ran from 8 June to 10 August. There were some excellent sermons during the series. One service was a youth service with a number of very good testimonies from the youth about their camping experiences this past summer. Many services were live streamed and are available for viewing. The website is: http://www. waldoavenuerestorationbranch. org

Centre Place Restoration School has started the fall session under the leadership of Brother

Dan Schoenemann. This is his tenth year. Enrolment is up, which is great news.

September is a very important month, for the Church because it was September 21, 1823, that Joseph Smith Jr was visited by an angel and told about the plates, from which came the Book of Mormon. You can find Joseph's testimony of this marvellous experience in Church History, Volume 1, Chapter 2. This would be a good time for each church member to review this part of our history. If you don't have the Church History Volumes, you can pull it up on centerplace. org and go to the library.

19-21 September 2025 is the CRE Priesthood Assembly at the Kirtland Temple in Kirtland, Ohio. Sessions will go from Saturday morning until Sunday morning. There will be a worship service in the Temple on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The missionary groups are all still functioning. Local priesthood continue to provide ministry for those Saints in their areas.

May The Lord be Praised for all the blessings we received that week! To God be the Glory!

God bless and keep you in His arms of Love.

Cumorah Testimony

26 September 2004

By Kevin Brown, Hill Cumorah Expedition Team

For the past three years, I and numerous others have gone to Hill Cumorah in Mexico for several weeks with Neil Steede. For those who don't know, Neil is an expert in Mayan archaeology and a member of the Community of Christ church. Our goal has been to gain entrance to a cave that is forty feet off the ground on a

thousand-foot cliff face. We believe that in this cave is the complete library of the Nephites and the Jaredites.

The mountain, which the natives have been calling for centuries "The hill of the tablets," is surrounded by miles of jungle. Although there is a small village in the shadow of this impressive mountain, there is no industry -only survival. Population is scarce.

Archaeology tells us several important things. This mountain is proven to be the site of two tremendous battles. The first battle occurred hundreds of years before the other; the latter being somewhere in the late third century A. D. There are no ancient settlements anywhere close to the mountain. The only artifacts found are those of war and those used for food preparation. The different artifacts are distinctive of two different cultures - that of the Olmec (who we believe to be the Jaredites) and that of the Maya (the Nephites and Lamanites). We know that the land was clear-cut at the times of the battles through core samples of the soil. It is now becoming the accepted idea for archaeologists that the Maya were in a world war with the southern cities against the northern. Scientists can now read city names and the names of those who ruled them. They have translated one city's name to be Muluc (similar to the Book of Mormon's Mulek), another to be Lamani, and the lineage of another is the exact kingship of the Book of Mormon's Zarahemla.

When we are on the mountain and look out over the valley and the river, it is hard to imagine the death and the carnage that happened so long ago. Maybe it's because of the jungle's covering that we can't fathom that many people in this valley. Or maybe it's just hard to imagine the hatred that must have been in the hearts of those who fought and the remorse of those few

Nephites who were left standing when all others were fallen.

The Book of Mormon chapter three tells of the final battle between the Nephites and the Lamanites. The last years of Mormon's life were turbulent. Mormon was charged with leading his people to battle against the Lamanites, not just this one last time, but for years.

He preached repentance. He cried unto the people to accept Jesus Christ and turn from their wicked ways. He was tired. He knew that their time on Earth was growing short. He wrote to the king of the Lamanites, asking to be allowed to gather all of his people together to wage one large battle, a battle to end all battles. I believe he hoped in his heart that the Nephites would again gain favour unto the Lord through repentance and have victory over the Lamanites. The king agreed and so Mormon marched all of his people to the holy, sacred mountain of Cumorah. I imagine a solemn journey, an exodus of biblical proportions, but with a different end. Having gathered together, the Nephites numbered at least 230,000 people.

The Lamanites came with numbers that far exceeded the Nephites, and the war that transpired was horrific. When the fighting was done, there were only twenty-four Nephites left - Mormon and Moroni among them. Mormon lamented for his people. He preached to them as if they could still hear. Why didn't they accept Jesus Christ? Why didn't they repent of their sins? As the day ended, they stood at the top of Cumorah and looked down at the camps of the Lamanites. What were those twenty-four men thinking, knowing that there was no hope for their own survival?

April 6th of this year [2004], four members of our expedition team went up Cumorah in prayer and fasting, asking for guidance and direction.

After a couple of rounds of prayer, we were meditating when Neil asked if we were ready to leave. I said that I wasn't and that I was supposed to dig. I began to dig right where I was sitting, with much fervour and conviction. I started to find pieces of pottery, and then, about five inches down, I found a tablet made of grey shale, about 15 inches long and 12 inches wide, with markings on it. I told the group that the markings were writing, more specifically, Ogam. That comment was unusual for me because there are only a handful of people in the world who know what Ogam is; I am not one of them. I then took the tablet and headed down the mountain, making my way through the jungle, alone. As I came closer to the end of the jungle, I came to a place where the sun shone through. I immediately stopped, as the Holy Spirit overpowered me, so much so that I doubled over and began crying. The love of the Lord was pressed upon me, bringing me words to give to some of the group members. It seemed that at every turn in the path where the sun penetrated, the Spirit overcame me, giving me new insights and revelation. By the time I reached the clearing, I felt so unworthy, and was so humbled that the Lord would use me, that tears were constant as I wrote in my journal of the things that were pressed upon my heart.

That night, I gave our devotions and said the words that the Lord would have me say, and then I gave the tablet to Neil. As it turns out, there are at least two forms of writing on the tablet: ancient Chinese Ideograms and Married Ogam. The Chinese has been deciphered by archaeologists, and both ideograms say "Proclaim." The married Ogam is going to take more time, as we have to have three independent linguistics experts decipher it into ancient Hebrew. We have received a partial translation, however. An expert who has been translating the Ogam called Neil recently. Neil

asked him what he had deciphered so far and the expert said that the translations didn't make sense to him. Neil asked him to share what he had found anyway and the expert said that it seemed to say "God absolve the sins of us, the twenty-four." Neil responded, "It makes perfect sense to me. You're on the right track."

A replica of the tablet, which we are now calling the Proclamation Tablet, is being prepared to ship to Geneva, Switzerland. It will be in a museum on display for six months, before going to Tokyo, Japan for another six months. In Tokyo, it will be on display for the World Fair. Between both museums and the World Fair, millions will see the tablet and with it, all the deciphered translations.

I am still amazed that the Holy Spirit compelled me to dig, with my bare hands, under the cave we have been trying to get into for years, and under the very spot I had chosen to sit for our prayers. I have no doubt that because of the way the tablet was given to us, it is meant to be a gift to the world from God. With that gift comes a message that I am to tell anyone who would listen. I am to tell the church, and the world, that "It has started." Specifically, that the coming forth of the plates and the establishment of Zion has started.

Section 140 of the Doctrine and Covenants says that "Zionic conditions are no further away nor any closer than the spiritual condition of My people justifies, but My word shall not fail, neither will My promises, for the foundation of the Lord standeth sure." He calls us to be a better people, to be a beacon of light to the lost. If we don't start living that now, then when?

So, what were the last twenty-four thinking in their final moments? They were thinking as true disciples of Christ - not of retribution or justice,

but of repentance and forgiveness. On the sacred, Holy mountain of the Lord, they buried their last testimony, for us.

Please feel free to copy and distribute this testimony. For updates of the expedition's progress and other resources you can visit: www.HillCumorahExpeditionTeam.com

Excerpts on Zion, from A Voice of Warning, 1886, pages 102-106

"O glorious day! O blessed hope!

My soul leaps forward at the thought! When in that happy, happy land,

We'll take the ancients by the hand,

In love and union, hail our friends,

And death and sorrow have an end.

I no longer marvel when I call to mind that Abraham counted himself a stranger, and a pilgrim, seeking a better country, and a city whose maker and builder is God. We have discovered. that man is to dwell in the flesh, upon the earth with the whole house of Isreal, and with all the Saints of the Most High, not only 1000 years, but forever."

We can read about the peace and security of the inhabitants of Zion, the prosperity, wealth, glory, beauty, and magnificence of this city in Isiah 54:11-17.

Isiah 60 continues to teach us that "first, there is a city to be built in the last days, unto which not only Israel, but all the nations of the Gentiles are to flow; and that the nation and kingdom that will not serve that city shall perish and be utterly wasted. Second, that the name of that city will be Zion, the city of the Lord. Third, that it is to be the place of His sanctuary, and the place of His feet. Fourth, that the best lumbar, consisting of fir, pine, and boxwood, is to be brought in great plenty to beautify the place of His sanctuary.

Fifth, the precious metals are to abound in such plenty that gold is to be in the place of brass, silver in the place of iron, brass in the place of wood, iron in the place of stones, while their officers are to be peace officers, and their exactors righteous exactors; violence is no more to be heard in the land, wasting nor destruction within their borders; their walls are to be salvation, and their gates praise, while the glory of God in the midst of the city will outshine the sun and the days of their mourning will be ended; the people will all be righteous, and inherit the land forever, being the branch of the Lord's planting, that He may be glorified. A small one shall become a strong nation, and the Lord will hasten it in his time.

David, too, spoke of the building of Zion in Psalms 102:13-22. "From this prophesy we learn that there is a set time to build Zion. just before the second coming of Christ, and that when this city shall be built, the Lord will appear in His glory, and not before. So from this we affirm, that if such a city is never built, then the Lord will never come. Second, we learn that the people and kingdom are to be gathered together to serve the Lord, both in Zion and in Jerusalem. Third, we learn that this psalm was written expressly for the generation to come, and the people which shall be created will praise the Lord, when they read it and see it fulfilled. "

Neil Page 3 of 6 asked him what he had deciphered so far and the expert said that the translations didn't make sense to him. Neil asked him to share what he had found anyway and the expert said that it seemed to say "God absolve the sins of us, the twenty-four." Neil responded, "It makes perfect sense to me. You're on the right track." A replica of the tablet, which we are now calling the Proclamation Tablet, is being prepared to ship to Geneva, Switzerland. They were thinking as true disciples of Christ - not of retribution or justice, but of repentance and forgiveness. On the sacred, Holy mountain of the Lord, they buried their last testimony, for us. Please feel free to copy and distribute this testimony. When Jesus taught "the people were astonished at his _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _." Matthew 7:36 2. Christ said, "My doctrine is not mine but _ _ _ that _ _ _ _ me." John 7:16 3. He also taught, "If any man will do his (God's) _ _ _ _, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." John 7:17 4. Six principles of Christ's doctrine (Hebrews 6:1-2 are: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (of water and spirit), _ _ _ _ _ _ on of _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ of the dead, and of _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Hebrews 6:1-2 5. Jesus came that we "might have _ _ _ _," and have it more abundantly. John 10:10 6. In 2 John 1:9, we are told that if we do not abide (live) in this doctrine we can't have God, but "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, hath both the _ _ _ _ _ _ and the _ _ _." 7. Eternal life is in God's Son. "He that hath the Son hath _ _ _ _; and he that hath not the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ hath not life." 1 John 5:12 Page 4 of 6 8. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; And I give unto them _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _." John 10:27-28 9. "The world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that _ _ _ _ _ the will of God abideth forever. 1 John 2:17 Excerpts on Zion, from A Voice of Warning, 1886, pages 102-106 "O glorious day! O blessed hope! My soul leaps forward at the thought! When in that happy, happy land, We'll take the ancients by the hand, In love and union, hail our friends, And death and sorrow have an end. I no longer marvel when I call to mind that Abraham counted himself a stranger, and a pilgrim, seeking a better country, and a city whose maker and builder is God. We have discovered. that man is to dwell in the flesh, upon the earth with the whole house of Isreal, and with all the Saints of the Most High, not only 1000 years, but forever." We can read about the peace and security of the inhabitants of Zion, the prosperity, wealth, glory, beauty, and magnificence of this city in Isiah 54:11-17. LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD AUGUST 21, 2025

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD AUGUST 21, 2025

Blessings and Greetings to every Saint around the world,

One of the most recited scriptures is most likely, “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, HE GAVE

___________________________________________________________ …” Finish the verse and write down where you can find it.

Based from that LOVE is the greatest commandment. “LOVE the Lord, Thy God with _____________

 __________________________________________________________ …

”Finish that verse and list one or all three places you find it in the New Testament. No use worrying about the second commandment or the Ten commandments or the six hundred plus Jewish “laws, UNTIL we comply with Number ONE.

This is not to suggest that we ever stop loving God. It rather suggests that when we are able to love God with our all, it carries through into every other aspect of our lives and is experienced or not experienced by everyone we come into contact with. This is a real crises in every life because we usually do not make a connection of temporal/physical with spiritual. But they must go hand in hand because the body and the spirit equal the Soul of a person. DC 85:4. This is just one of many precious truths that have been given to the Restoration.

Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s forefathers made the following statement.“Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have lies in this; when I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort that I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought.” PERVADED means to spread through and be perceived in every part of. This is our challenge with the Great Commandment. This is how we can truly love God with all we are. Plus it does not take away our love for others.

Mankind has fought this battle since the Garden and we each face it every moment of our lives. There was a camp song entitled, “How Much Do You Love My Jesus” Two responses are wider than the widest ocean, deeper than the deepest sea. Do such responses come close to loving God with our all? I, we need to be like Alexander Hamilton and study, fast and pray profoundly, day and night so that we might become pervaded with loving God with our all.

Arthur Oakman in his book, “The Endowment Series,” says, “Consequently, we are caught up in the feverish activity of an endless round of social activity in the Church. We miss the wonder, the beauty, and the glory which should be ours in the contemplation of the principles of the doctrine of Christ,” I would add, in also fulfilling the Great Commandment.

May we reme3mber the kingdom quality aspects mentioned in 2 Peter 1. Especially note verses 8-10 and 12.

God bless each one as we contemplate what it really means to be living IN the Kingdom of God.
