Urgent Need in Nigeria
Dear Saints,
A widow and her five children had a house fire this past Sunday evening in Nigeria. She died in the fire and her husband died two years ago. The mother was the only caregiver of the children.
The five children were taken to the hospital to care for their wounds. Three of the children passed away at the hospital due to their injuries. Two of the children are still alive. The injuries were to their legs and much prayer is needed that the Lord will deliver them through this trial and heal them.
The need is great here brothers and sisters. The hospital is demanding payment of approximately $4000 to continue treatments and care for the remaining two children. Please consider providing funds to assist this family.
You can make payments to the following:
Conference of Restoration Elders - African Ministries
Memo: Nigerian House Fire
Mail to:
CRE - ARM
18400 E Highland Drive
Pleasant Hill MO 64080
Funds that are above the need will be deposited into the Nigerian Oblation Fund after all the needs are met for these two children.
YBIC,
Shaun Turner

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD DECEMBER 1, 2022
Beloved Saints of the Most High God,
Greetings and “MERRY CHRISTMAS” all month long.
As many will say, “This the best time of the year!” But then, as long as we walk with Jesus, as my yard sign says, “JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!” Of course, we all know that Jesus is the reason for every season, because without Him, there is no need for any season.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone accepted Jesus as their Savior instead of continual debates about when He was born? What a fantastic world we would live in if everyone would love as Jesus loved, even being willing to give our life for the cause of the Kingdom! Let each of us live such a life every day so as to reflect that love that Jesus shared with everyone. That is the only kind of love that will find place in Zion/Celestial Glory, so it must find place in our lives now.
As we all know, Christmas is different in various parts of the world, even in some parts of the same country. But the significance of Christmas is, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
I’m sure everyone has their favorite Christmas scripture, hymn, poem, story etc. I will share some of my favorites today, especially as they apply to living in the Kingdom of God.
Scripture: Third Nephi 1:1-15, particularly verse 13, “And on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfill all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.” You can read and know what was happening, but WOW! Jesus spoke to Nephi the night before he was born. A true miracle indeed. Jesus wants to speak to us every day. Perhaps I, we, need to learn to cry mightily to our God all day and night.
Hymn: I especially like “O Little Town of Bethlehem” verse four.
“O Holy Child of Bethlehem,
Descend to us we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in,
Be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels,
The great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us,
OUR LORD, IMMANUEL!
All through our daily living in the Kingdom, if Jesus is not working within us, can we truthfully say we are living in the Kingdom? Keep in mind that this coming Sunday is The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
Story: Many years ago I found a story called, “Trouble at the Inn.” A church was doing the Christmas story and a young man about ten years old, who was a little shy, but good size was chosen to be the Innkeeper. You know, the one who had to tell Joseph there was NO room in the inn. When it came to that point in the play, after he had softy told Joseph there was no room and Joseph started to leave, he called out, in a strong voice, “Come back, Joseph, YOU CAN HAVE MY ROOM!” Needless to say, the church and the community were changed forever. So, in our daily walk, are we willing to share everything we have with Jesus? He doesn’t want our room, but does ask us to give Him our hearts.
The Inspired Version in Luke 2:7 uses the words “inns.” All others say, “inn.” Does it matter?
Poem: As you know, most, if not all, hymns are poems. Hymn 105 in “Hymns of the Restoration,” “When Jesus, Our Great Master Came,” was brought to my attention as we prepared for prayer service last night at Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch. I think it is appropriate for our living in the Kingdom.
When Jesus, our great Master, came to teach us in his Father’s name,
In every act, in every thought, He lived the precepts which he taught.
So let our lips and lives express The Holy Gospel we profess;
So let our works and virtues shine To prove the doctrine all divine.
A virtue is a very high level of morality. Doctrine and Covenants 38:5c and 46:9b instruct us to practice virtue and holiness before Him and continually.
God Bless

ZIONWORKS NEWS DECEMBER 1, 2022
ZION AND YOU, THROUGH GOD’S EYES,
and HIS BIG PLAN
Dear saints and all who God calls “His People”,
This is exciting. Though this is a late notice, the next Zionworks meeting will be one of great revealing. God’s plans and instructions for us have always existed, however he does not always spoon feed us. This coming Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Atherton congregation’s fellowship hall, Gary Metzger will explain God’s scriptural plan for the saints to be cooperatively engaged in Zion. Why is this exciting? Because we are living in the time this eternal plan is planned for. This is frightening yet fulfilling; frightening because we will leave our comfort zones (by expedient of evading disaster or by choice); fulfilling because we have the opportunity to live independent of the world’s destructive forces, to escape the coming death and terror, and to be immersed in Christ’s love. Here are a couple of short excerpts from Gary’s study, research and enthusiasm:
_____________________________________
Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
We all know the promise of that scripture. We use it for receiving tithes and offerings for the local church and the missionary work. Rightly so. But is there a greater principle? Why does it say “storehouse.” Why does it say “meat” in his house? I believe there are examples in scripture of the principle how it is to bless us now in an incredible way…to provide for the church in a day of judgment. That there may be meat, life and gathering of his people together under his protection.
There are 5 models of the storehouse that we will discuss:
1) Joseph in Egypt - Surplus was placed in the storehouse for 7 years during abundance.
2) Noah in the Ark - Surplus was placed in the floating storehouse before the rain/judgment
3) Lachoneus in Bof M - Surplus was placed in the center of the land before 7 years of war.
4) Prophecy of Isaiah - Judgments of no rain are prophesied for our day.
5) D&C for latter days - Surplus to be placed in the storehouse for the salvation of man
The model lived out today
- The people gather together in the midst of the land to Independence and her stakes.
- The people gather to holy place throughout the earth. (1Nephi 3:228,231; D&C 45:4d; 98:9)
- They bring their abundance to provide in the days of judgments and iniquity.
- They lived off their land in a protected area.
Consider how there is a type and shadow to the judgments of the gentiles upon this land in these last days.
This prophecy of God’s judgments is written in the Book of Mormon so that WE might know they are also for us. It is a 2nd witness of God’s plan, giving interpretation to the prophecy of Rev. 11. Let us take it to heart.
With no rain, and the judgments on the Gentile nation, we see the following prophecies:
Isaiah chapters 2-5 are prophecies of the last days; of the days of Zion; her glory and judgments.
Isaiah 3:1 For behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and staff, they whole staff of bread, and the whole stay of water,
v:25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war. And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate, and shall sit upon the ground.
Isaiah 4:2 And it shall come to pass, they that are left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem;
D&C 45:4d and in that generation shall thy times of the Gentiles be fulfilled, and there shall be men
standing in that generation that shall not pass, until they shall see an overflowing scourge, for a desolating sickness shall come over the land;
4e But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved; but among the wicked, men shall lift up their voices and curse God, and die.
3Nephi 9:99 a young lion among the flocks of sheep…both treadeth down and teareth in pieces
:101 I will cut off thy horses and destroy thy chariots
:101 I will cut off the cities of ty land, and throw down all thy strongholds
:104 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee; so will I destroy thy cities
Revelation 18:2 Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils…
4 Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
10 Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that might city! For in one hour is thy judgment come.
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off.
19 Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of
her costliness! For in one hour is she made desolate.
D&C 108:2a Wherefore prepare ye, prepare ye, O my people; sanctify yourselves; gather ye together, O ye people of my church, upon the land of Zion, all you that have not been commanded to tarry.
2b Go ye out from Babylon. Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord. Call you solemn
assemblies, and speak often one to another.
77:3c,d that through my providence, notwithstanding the tribulation which shall descend upon you,
that the church may stand independent above all other creatures beneath the celestial world.
This will be a great presentation, but it will be of limited value unless we implement it. I think Gary would be comfortable with saying that it is not his plan; it is God’s plan as well as it can be revealed by prayerful research, compilation, God’s revealing direction and our reaction in faith. As such, it is an invitation to enter in to life lived in the kingdom on earth. There will be discussion, Q&A and further work to implement this giant task bit by bit. Zionworks mission is to bring people together to work and live in Christ’s love under His direction. We will continue to improve our resources to enable, encourage and guide all who have a desire to find peace and fulfillment in this area of Christ’s work.
Remember, it is urgent to stock up now on food and means of grid-down survival, and to take stock of your abilities, resources and needs that can be shared with like-minded saints. A very interesting scripture to read, that is prophetic, revealing of our time and revealing of our bright temporal and spiritual hope is D&C 38:1e-6d. You are invited to bring your questions and ideas to this coming or any of our meetings.
Consider the urgency of bartering. We set up a table at each meeting to practice this and have some fun with it. Many kinds of useful items, curiosities and food find their way to this table.
