FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD January 29

From:  Paul Gage

FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING, AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

JANUARY 29, 2021

God's blessings to all the lovely Saints Around the World,

The spiritual disciplines listed above are all so vital to our living for the Kingdom of God. We are told in Doctrine and Covenants 1:5 e  "and also those to whom these commandments were given might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity, and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord am well pleased, speaking unto the church collectively and not individually;..." This revelation was given November 1, 1831, just nineteen months after the church was organized. It appears that the Lord was saying that as a "church" they were not getting the job done. It is easy to criticize or "judge" others, especially those who have gone before us, but it is not our calling to criticize or judge.  Rather it is to take a close look at ourselves and see what we are accomplishing.

I believe that the True Church of Jesus Christ is alive and well on the face of the earth today. A question we might ask of ourselves is, "Is it living in me"? Can we see the church living in us and through us? If not, how will others see it? How can we, in our time, bring the church out of obscurity and darkness? Perhaps we can get a glimpse  in 2nd Peter chapter one, verses 1-13.

It starts out, "...to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior, Jesus Christ;" Peter is talking to us. Read the rest of it for yourself, note verses 9-11. In spite of all the obstacles life and others may throw at us, we still are called to be a part of "the living church" and to project it to a world in spiritual darkness.

Sometimes we get into a routine and after a while begin to slack off some. I see this in myself, at times, and realize that I must get back into a proper frame of mind and relationship with Jesus. So, maybe as we are now past the new year resolutions, it might be time have a personal revival. How? By re-examining what we are doing with our fasting, praying and studying and thus, our living for the Kingdom of God.

May the Lord be with you and guide you, ever being by your side to touch you with His Spirit.

May we remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the salt of the earth, ... Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the light of the world." My we go forth in His Name and do the things He has told us to do.

Watch "They Came Without Being Invited - The Hebrides Revival" on YouTube

Watch "They Came Without Being Invited - The Hebrides Revival" on YouTube

Hello, Initiative and Unity Center Friends,

Reminder:
IIAW Monthly Meeting, tonight, January 26, 6:30pm, Living Hope Restoration Church, 2425 S. Crysler Avenue.
Please note the location for the meeting has changed. We will be at Living Hope Restoration Church.

Divine Update:
The pocket change collection which First Fruits Daily Prayer Group started just 10 days ago has collected $68+ for the Unity Center window project! More is expected to come in tomorrow morning. Our Group is small, 5-8 is average attendance. God is so AMAZING! One member keeps bringing in money she is finding here and there in her house. Praise HIM for multiplying our gift!

So, the challenge is on for all or us, individually, and groups of all sizes. Watch what God does with your pocket change offerings every month. It is an absolute JOY to obey this one small thing the Lord has placed on our hearts to do for His name's sake and the sake of His/our hearts' desire, our Beloveds. I do believe we will be astounded at what is about to come forth as others bring in their small change offerings. To save time and effort, please convert your change to bills. You may bring the cash to the meeting, or write a check to the Unity Center and send it to The Unity Center, PO BOX 521141, Independence, MO 64052, or drop your gift off at the Center during open hours, 9-2, Monday through Wednesday.

We are allocating these funds for new window in the Unity Center. Remaining funds needed are $40,000. When the Unity Center is complete, the Father has other places in mind to build up for our Beloveds. What a marvelous time and a joy to be alive and aligned with God's purposes.

Who are our Beloveds?
Today, our Beloveds are not just drug users, dealers, and ne'er do wells. They are our neighbors who have lost their jobs in the wake of the pandemic, hence their homes. The Beloveds are us! The housing we provide them now, may very well be there to help us one day in the near future.

What we all can do!
When you pray over your food, pray a blessing over our Beloveds, for their needs to be provided. Pray, asking the Father for wisdom and what he would have you do to serve with kindness all the Beloveds in your neighborhood. Pray through your neighborhood regularly, Saturday mornings and dinner time in the evening are good times. You will find the Lord has many Divine Encounters and Appointments in store. Connect with your neighbors. Encourage them. Help as you can when you see a need. Identify the widows in your neighborhood. Ask about any needs they have. Share information about the Unity Center's available aid and services. Arrange a tour for your church to come and see what is happening at the Unity Center. Ask your church to make a monthly gift to support the Unity Center.

Volunteer to go out with TEAM JESUS to the camps to learn how to serve them with respect, in humility and love.  Pray about how you and your church might be equipped to serve more camps. Have a bag of food and items ready in your cars to hand out to those you encounter in the community as the Spirit leads. Generally, it is not wisdom to offer money or take a Beloved into your home for showers or sleeping. We must work diligently to provide housing that is safe for our Beloveds and those who are helping. Independence has 48 camps of our Beloveds. Only a handful of that number are being served with meal bags. Tomorrow night, Cheri Tharp will share protocols to follow while working with our Beloveds.

Tell family and friends about the Unity Center and its services. Encourage them to arrange for a tour of the facility.

New Prayer Initiative:
A citywide effort for 24/7 prayer is being launched called INDEPENDENCE PRAYS. More information will be forthcoming. There have been several days of 24/7 prayer completed in the last several months. Eventually, the Unity Center will house 24/7 prayer. Until then, a tab is on the cityofourgodindependence.com website to sign up for time slots to pray at home or work around the clock, every day.

Pray for revival! I have attached a short video of what happened in the Hebrides 1949 to 1952. Inspiring for us all. Our city is primed for this kind of outpouring of God, who is no respecter of persons and will hear us. As we ready ourselves with desire for service, God is waiting to open up Heaven for the Beloveds' sake, of whom we are all part.

Our Father would have us remember, we are called to this time, to do the Savior's mighty work in these final days before He returns. We were created and designed for this work. Do not fear the "giants in the land". This is a time of the greatest outpouring of power ever known. The fiery furnace, the lion's den, Peter in prison, Paul's conversion, manna from Heaven, are but types and shadows of what God will do in these last days. He will multiply His deliverances and provision 10 fold, and 100 fold.* Be encouraged, be inspired, be confident in God that He will do what He said He would do, in us and through us. Be faithful and endure. We are created in God's image, therefore we are created for victory and for His Glory. He has invested in us so much; He has given us all we need to accomplish His work. He says, "If you need anything for My Name's Sake, for My Kingdom's sake, and the sake of My Beloveds, ask me and I will give it to you."

*Jeremiah 16:14-15:"Therefore, behold, the days come, says the Lord, that it shall no more be said, The Lord lives, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But The lord lives, that brought up the children of Israel form the land of the north, and from all the land whither he had driven them; and I will bring them again into their land I gave unto their fathers."

Looking forward to tonight's meeting! God's manifold blessings to us all.

Correction to today's 60 Day Focus on Jesus

Correction to today's 60 Day Focus on Jesus

Dear Saints – It was brought to my attention that there is an error in today’s 60 day devotion.

The scripture reference should be 3 Nephi 5:8, not 1 Nephi 5:8. Sorry for the error.

Here is a direct link to the chart:
