IIAW Neighborhood Transformation Cleanup Day Report

Dear, IIAW Friends,

Today's cleanup event had 23 volunteers, mostly young people, show up for breakfast, prayers and an hour of picking up litter on 23rd Street!
It was heartwarming and so encouraging to watch them all file into the Unity Center kitchen. It was a very cold day, and frankly, I only hoped for a dozen brave souls to turn out. We had twice that many. God is so GOOD! Thank you, one and all! Go on the Independence Is Alive and Well Initiative to see photos of the event.

We just happened to eat on plates that said, "It's a girl!" I don't believe that was an accident. We are giving birth to the "Living Church", the Bride of Christ, and she will deliver the Kingdom in our city. God declares it so, for this coming together of all faiths, non-profits, and individuals, is most PLEASING to Him. He has been moving among us for a long time, softening our hearts and building us up for this momentous time, a time the prophets only saw in vision, the day of the Lord's Kingdom coming on the earth, fulfilling the Lord's prayer, "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

I was resting this afternoon at home, loving, seeing, and working with all my new IIAW friends in this neighborhood service, when I happened onto a video of a dad who has a 2 month premature baby in NICU. He did a crazy video of himself doing a "Daddy Dance". It went viral. You must see it! Just Google DADDY DANCE. And better yet, do it. It is silly, joyous, fun, and endearing! I'm encouraged to do it because I have waited so long, over 50 years to see this DAY arrive, when God's sons and daughters care enough for God and each other to give their best to God and each other. This is truly a beautiful, new day, a welcomed day, a long awaited day!

The next IIAW meeting is the fourth Tuesday of the month, February 25th, 6:30pm at the Unity Center of Independence, 803 W. 23rd Street. Let your friends know about the IIAW so they can come and see and a be part of something phenomenal and wonderful.

Also, the next Neighborhood Transformation Cleanup Day is the March 14th, 8 - 11am, beginning with potluck breakfast at the Unity Center. I will send out a reminder and a our work location

Next Saturday, February 15th volunteers will be preparing meals for homeless Beloveds at Living Hope Restoration Church, 2425 S. Crysler Avenue, 8 - 10:30am. If more volunteers come to help than are needed, we will supply trash bags to them to clean up litter along Crysler. Safety green IIAW T shirts will be provided for those who don't have them.

See you all there.
