ANOTHER THOUGHT FOR TODAY: 02/29/2020
Many people have heard and read the scripture, II Chronicles 7:14:
"If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
It's a great scripture and one that deserves a greater and far
more exhaustive examination and consideration ( as do ALL scriptures ).
For far too long, far too many people who say they profess
Jesus Christ, just skim the surface, find a scripture that has a
'catchy sound or phrase to it', read that one verse and think
they have really done something. And anytime, anyone reads any
measure of scripture, that is always a good thing.
But YOUR Eternal soul and the soul of all people, the fate,
the final outcome of the souls of all people, depends much more
upon the measure we read, consider upon, and obey the
WORD, and MIND, and WILL of God.
1. GOD DOES NOT LIE.
2. GOD IS THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER.
3. GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSON.
As we look at and consider the events of our world this day,
as we look at the results and effects of what is happening
this day; I also would ask us all to consider more fully the
fuller revelation of the WORD of GOD and how II Chronicles 7
applies to this nation and what yet remains of the
Church of Jesus Christ.
From the text of II Chronicles 7, we see that king Solomon
had finished praying unto the Lord, offering sacrifices
unto the Lord, and to dedicate the house they had built
unto the Lord. As a result, the Fire of God came down
and accepted their offerings and the people bowed and
knelt down before the Lord and worshipped HIM in
Spirit and Truth. There are many types and shadows in this
entire text, but time and space will only allow for
this one thought, for now. WE have no earthly king,
we do have many earthly kingmen.
For now, I ask you to consider what and how the Lord answered
the prayer of Solomon and the spiritual condition of
the people:
verses 12 - 22
"And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have
heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for
a house of sacrifice.
If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts
to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer
that is made in this place.
For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may
be there forever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be
there perpetually.
And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked,
and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and
shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have
covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail
thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
But if ye turn away, and forsake my statues and my commandments,
which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods,
and worship them,
Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have
given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name,
will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb
and a byword among all nations.
And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one
that passeth by it; so that he shall say,
Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of
their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,
and laid hold on other gods, and worshiped them, and served them;
therefore hath he brought evil upon them."
Much needs to be addressed here and the call to the church and all of its
leaders and kingmen, to repent and consider their ways.
As we read the news and see what the evil designs of conspiring men and
women and political venues have and are doing - and yes, the virus that
is front and center in the world; I ask you to prayerfully read all of these
scriptures and together let us consider our ways.
At one time the Lord did accept a house that was built unto Him -
this refers to both Kirtland and the church restored in 1830.
From both of those events and occasion, a sufficient number of
people have strayed from the Lord and what HE established in both
WORD and DEED.
The Lord said: "If I shut up heaven that there be no rain,
or if I command the locusts
to devour the land, or if
I send pestilence among my people;
If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
That day and time and spiritual condition is here and now as well
as the promise of help and health and healing - IF -
biggest word in the middle of life.
The Lord also clearly identifies and specifies what shall befall
this people, this nation, this church on earth and those
conditions which The LORD has enumerated.
Many people ask for signs and wonders; you have them.
This is as a voice crying in the wilderness -
he that hath ears to hear, let them hear.
"And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my
Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and
the power of the Holy Ghost; And if they endure unto
the end, they shall be lifted up at the last day, and
shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb;"
1st Nephi 3: 187 - 188
Hosea states: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
Jesus said: "And whoso treasureth up MY WORDS, shall not be deceived."
