LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD MAY 29, 2025

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD MAY 29, 2025

Special greetings to all the faithful followers of Jesus Christ,

Special because the gospel of Jesus Christ has been presented to us and we have been given the opportunity and privilege of assisting our Lord in bringing about His Kingdom upon the earth.

This past Monday, in the USA, was a day called, “Memorial Day.” This Sunday, June 1 will be another special “Memorial Day” for all those who claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. This Memorial Day, of course, will be the “Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.” Another opportunity to share in a holy ordinance established by Jesus himself in which he, in many scriptures admonished each of us to ‘DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.” The following scriptures are just a few of the many in all three standard books of scripture that remind us how and why we are to remember Jesus in all we do.

First Peter 2:1 “Wherefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby, 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious, 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore, also it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious; and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you, therefore, who believe, he is precious--but unto them who are disobedient, who stumble at the word, through disobedience, whereunto they were appointed, a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense. 8 For the stone which the builders disallowed is become the head of the corner. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light, 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God, which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
12 Having your conduct honest among the Gentiles, that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” Y
ou can do your own research on the meaning of some of the highlighted phrases. They refer mainly to the House of Israel when God was selecting them to be “His people,” but are applicable to those true followers.

Colossians 3:12 Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering, 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

As we are trying to build up the kingdom of God and establish His righteousness this becomes our road map to the true Kingdom when it comes. As Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.

God Bless,

Paul Gage
