New Book--Ministry in the Home

 

MINISTRY IN THE HOME is now available.  It is 48 pages, 8.5x11", and costs $5.00.  This is a textbook for the priesthood.  It is a "Restoration Edition" of the 1949/1958 book by F. M. McDowell and Harold Cackler.  It has been updated to be useful throughout the Restoration Movement.

The book has chapters relating to ministry to those who are ill, bereaved, young, shut-in, faithful members of the Church, and nonmembers.  It has a note at the end to remind priesthood members that the Saints need ministry, even in times when face-to-face ministry in the home cannot be given.

Update on Kindell Boehler February 3

Kindell started improving on Saturday night and Sunday. Praise and thanks be to God! She was discharged from the hospital on Monday and is doing fine so far. We thank everyone for their prayers!

L A Huff, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away on January 15, 2021.

L A Huff Obituary (1930 - 2021) - The Examiner (legacy.com)

L A was born on December 29, 1930 in Independence, Missouri, to Charles and Nanny Huff. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1948. He then went on to the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for four years and was in the Korean War. During his time in service, L A received a Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. On March 30, 1951, he married the love of his life, Norma Jean Williams. L A was an auto mechanic for his own business, Huff Auto Repair for many years. He was a loving husband and brother. Being a devout Christian, L A was an elder of South Crysler Restoration Branch for many years. He had a great love for God and his country and he will be dearly missed.

L A is survived by his sister, Betty Sturman; brother, Carl (Wilma) Huff and son, Jack (Louise) Huff. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Norma Jean Huff and parents Charles Clifford and Nanny Mildred Huff.

Cremation is planned with a private graveside service held for family. L A will be laid to rest at Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

We have 20 round bales of cow hay we are willing to give away.  We can load it on a trailer on our end but we cannot transport it. We are located 7 miles south of the Oak grove I-70 exit. 

It was donated to us but our horses won't eat it.

Dear Saints,

When the latter-day gospel was planted in the days of Joseph Smith it bore fruit. Following his death and the breakup of the original church — seeds from that initial planting were harvested and planted in various places – creating the Churches of the Restoration as they exist today. This video refers to the Rorschach Inkblot Test and discusses its implications relative to the Scattered of the Restoration.

To the faithful Priesthood of the Restoration Branches / Groups 

I am writing to remind you about our February 6th 2021 meeting that will be held at

Farview Restoration Branch Church, 11404 E 24th St S, Independence, MO 64052

We will start the day with a period of Prayer & Testimony followed by classes. 

Agenda:

9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Prayer & Testimony - Praying for our Nation.

10 a.m. - 11:30 Class 1 - The Keys of the Kingdom in the Latter Days 

11:35 - 1:00 p.m. Class 2 - Thoughts and Connections of the Scriptures and The Harbinger 2 book.

When we come together we are incredibly blessed by the Spirit and many have

borne testimony to that fact! I believe it is because we come truly seeking a

common understanding of the scripture.  

1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

There is a real need within the Priesthood body to understand the Gospel in relationship to the Latter Day events and learn of the meat of the Gospel - for it is up to us to be the watchman and make sure that the wolves do not enter in. 

Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore

hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

Today, more than ever, we need to be the watchman of Zion and the surrounding areas

. None are perfect but we are working out our salvation every day.  

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present

your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Men of the Priesthood, we would enjoy the opportunity to have you share with us.
