Prayer Requests - October 23

 Prayer Requests

My Granddaughter, Cierra Dollarhide, after several months waiting to get an appointment, and was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and is finally having surgery the 19th. They still don’t know until they do surgery, which type (1 out 3) type of cancer it is. There is a 60% chance they will have to do chemo after surgery.

Update to above prayer request
She came home the same day as her thyroid cancer surgery. The lower left part of the gland was removed along with the mass. It was sent off for a biopsy (to New York) to see what (1 of 3) types of cancer it was. If it is the very rare type, it will require chemotherapy. The other types, may require chemo pills.

Thank you so much for your prayers, and please continue to pray for The Lord’s Will, Peace of Mind, Comfort, and Courage.

Please pray for a friend of mine, Shonda. She suffered from a stroke last Saturday and had a severe allergic reaction to the medication they used to stop the stroke. This caused her to placed on a ventilator in the ICU where she now has no movement of the right side of her body. As of now she is off the vent, but is still struggling with blood pressure. She has a partner of 23 years and a 15 year old son that could use prayers for strength and comfort as well.

Thank you!

Kingdom Kids On Their Knees Event

Kingdom Kids On Their Knees Event

Hello Saints,

For those that don’t know me, I am a wife, mom, grandma, former teacher, lover of Jesus, and child of the King. I currently attend the Living Hope Restoration Branch in Independence, MO.

I have a huge burden on my heart for our children. The thought that keeps going through my mind is: “Are our children grounded as much as the three Hebrew children who were tried in the fiery furnace or as the early saints? Do they have what they need for the times to come?" As the war in Israel rages, it feels almost too late. But, we have TODAY to start if we haven’t already. I’m praying that you are awake and aware!

Back in 2018 the Lord gave me the idea for Kingdom Kids. I had no idea what the future was going to be, but I felt an urgency to teach anyone who was interested. So, for about five years the Lord has been teaching me about helping children grow in their prayer life, listening to the Holy Spirit, and life in the Kingdom of God. In fact, adults seem to learn almost as much or more from the teachings as children.

The Lord told me that everything He gave me was simple (everything is backed up in the scriptures!) but it’s mostly in picture form or easy to remember scriptures / / songs / sayings / stories. I would be happy to share what I have learned and the lessons I have developed. But, I feel like the Lord wants this to be in person, as much as possible.

Just as a snap shot of what he has given me, this is the Kingdom Kid Pledge that was given by inspiration. There is much more to share. Lessons for the Lord’s Prayer, Garden of the Heart, stories…

If you would like to see some of what we have done, here’s a little bit on the Lord’s Prayer lessons

Also, ask to join the Kingdom Kids on Their Knees Facebook Page. It is a private page, but just ask to be added and you will be! https://www.livinghopebranch.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Kingdom-Kids-Booklet-Intro-IV.pdf

If you would like to join me for a Kingdom Connection, I will share at Living Hope on Thursdays, October 26 and November 2 at 1 - 2:30 pm.

Please RSVP to let me know you are coming so I will have enough materials. Feel free to share with others. If you are from farther away, would you be interested in joining through ZOOM? Let me know.

I am also willing to share with you at your church or gathering. Just let me know.

I would also love to hear what you have been given. I know the Lord has been inspiring many people to help our young people grow in their walk with the Lord and their journey in God’s Kingdom on earth.

Blessings to all,

Becky Stayton

Steven Vencil Palmer, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at University Health Truman Medical Center in downtown Kansas City. He was born in Monette, MO to Hubert and Donna Palmer. He was married to Susan Woods Palmer of Kansas City, MO on October 25, 2015.

Steven attended Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, MO where he was a valued member of the Tigers football team (#72). After graduating in 1972, Steven continued his football career at Southeast Missouri State University from 1973 to 1974.

Steven proudly served as a Police Officer, Sergeant (C49), Firefighter, and Field Training Officer for 26 years. In 1985, Steven began his career at the Department of Public Safety in Miner, MO. After serving the people of Miner for 12 years, he took a position with the Department of Public Safety in Sikeston, MO in 1997. Steven retired from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety in 2011. Following retirement, he worked as a Security Supervisor at the Truman Sports Complex for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals from 2015-2019.

Steven devoted his last 42 years as a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a Pastor of the Community of Christ church, following his father, Hubert Carrol Palmer. He regularly attended Open Arms Community of Christ, Good Shepherd and First People of Blue Ridge Community of Christ.

Steven loved riding his motorcycle. In 2010, he founded the Peace Riders Motorcycle Ministry and Outreach in Kansas City and rode with Christian Motorcyclists Association. He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club at Cape Girardeau, the H.O.G Chapter at Grandview, MO, and the Community of Christ Professional Law Enforcement Officer Association.

Steven also loved sports and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers fan. He loved old Western movies, especially starring John Wayne. He loved fishing, nature hikes, cups of coffee on the porch, reading his Bible, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids. He also collected Police uniform patches, along with various other patches. He always had a special connection with kids; many are now grown and still speak of their fond memories of him. He was a "beacon in the storm," and will forever live in our hearts.

Loving survivors include his wife Susan; seven children: Ryan (Melissa) Medlin, Jackson, MO; Andrea (Scott) Shepherd, Knoxville, TN; Ross (Lyka) Palmer, Blue Springs, MO; Casey (Robbie) Hohler, Jackson, MO; Samantha Roper, Blue Springs, MO; and Steven Woods, New York, NY; four siblings: Donnie (Diana) Palmer, Cape Girardeau, MO; Clifford (Jeri) Palmer, Jackson, MO; Russell (Charlynda) Palmer, Whitewater, MO; and Kathryn (Tim) Sievers, Jackson, MO; nine nieces and nephews, and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert C. Palmer (90) and Donna R. Palmer (87).

Steven was loved by all whom met him. While he will be greatly missed, we know he is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord!

"His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make the ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." - Matthew 25:23
