Does DNA disprove Lehi's story? How much can we really know through DNA study? Does DNA prove North American Indians have Israelite blood?

In the Jan 4, 2014 Deseret News and Mormon Times, a four part series of articles answers all these questions and more from a "church approved" perspective. We have conveniently combined all four into one article which you can read at: This one is a must read to stay informed

At about the same time an editorial appeared on the Church website entitled Book of Mormon and DNA Studies which you can view at ( This one is also a must read.

The DNA information in both of these sources has been flatly denied by the Heartlanders. This document says what scholars have been telling this group for years. This is their response taken from their website:

The Heartland's rebuttal to the Church endorsed DNA article:

"Just last week, Church Correlation approved the publication of the Book of Mormon and DNA article on There’s no way to say this softly, so I will just say it: That article is complete and total garbage! I was disgusted by it. If someone—ANYONE! I don’t care who they are or what Church position they hold—ever espouses an idea or belief or philosophy that contradicts what the scriptures (read Meldrum) teach, I toss their proposed poison out like yesterday’s rotting trash and I do not look back! I advise you to do the same, because a great many university professors have espoused and continue to espouse ideas and teach worldly, secular philosophies that directly contradict God’s revealed truth. .......... That’s the real reason Mr. Perego and others like him do not accept the DNA evidence to be in support of the Book of Mormon, because of the supposed old age. But the idea that human beings have been around for 12,000 years or longer is in direct conflict with what the scriptures teach. Mr. Perego has stated that Haplogroup X cannot possibly be evidence of the Lamanites because it’s 12,000 years old. 12,000 years old? Really? Let’s think about that for a second, shall we? By my calculations… 12,000 years ago was 6,000 years BEFORE Adam—and Adam was the first man on the earth, as the Word of God teaches. “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul…” (1 Corinthians 15:45); “And I, the Lord God, formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul, the first flesh upon the earth, the first flesh upon the earth, the first man also…” (Moses 3:7). The scriptures are perfectly clear on the matter. Adam was the first man. Period. There were no humans before Adam, therefore Haplogroup X DNA couldn’t possibly be 12,000 years old, nor could any human DNA be more than 6,000 years old. But evolutionists won’t accept that. They MUST believe in millions and billions of years. It’s their religion, and they protect it with dogmatic fervor, because without the millions and billions of years, they cannot possibly postulate either organic or macro evolution. Then we ask the question: Was there death before the Fall of Adam? Most university professors—and, sadly, even a great many teaching at BYU—would say that there was. But, again, this is in direct conflict with what the scriptures teach. Since the publication of the DNA article last week, I’ve heard several people say this: “Well, if this article is not true, then why was it allowed to be posted on the Church’s official website in the first place?” I think the most important thing to remember is that even though the article was posted on the Church’s official website, it was not written nor signed by any it was not written nor signed by any general authorities. It was written by some evolution-believing individuals who either are from FAIR or are highly influenced by FAIR. And that’s the unfortunate and very sad truth we are now facing, that there are many university professors who hold great sway over what Church Correlation accepts as reality."

Is it any wonder they claim that Joseph Smith was not the enthusiastic author of articles in the Times and Seasons about J L Stephens' report on ruins in Mesoamerica? We are assured by several people who know, that everything that goes on is either written by or commissioned by a general authority; and on a subject as volatile as this, they all know and agree with exactly what is said.

We invite you to join us on the BMAF Facebook page

Around and About the Centre Place by High Priest Paul Gage Independence, MO

Greetings Dearly Beloved Saints of Australia,

Another year is rapidly speeding by, and what do we see on the horizon? A steady deterioration of life

and traditional and scriptural values. The Western world, in particular is speeding away from Christianity

and God's plan for mankind. While we are called to love others as Christ loves us, it does not mean we are

to condone or accept as "right" all the anti-scriptural media, etc which glorifies evil, sin, and anything that

goes against the scripture. While we are not to be out bashing others, we must carefully examine ourselves,

as directed in II Corinthians 13: 5.

When confronted with evil and those who promote evil, we must stand strong in the faith of our Lord

Jesus Christ, even as did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:16-18. The time in which we are

living has been foretold many, many years and I feel that we, like so many of our Christian brothers and

sisters of the past will have to take a stand for Christ, even if it costs us our physical life. It is better to lose

our physical life than our spiritual life. We do not want to be found in the 2nd resurrection..

Here in the Centre Place, we praise the Lord for a warming trend that is melting the snow and causing us

to have thoughts of springtime and summer. The Lord is good! How easy it is to see His Mighty Hand in the

workings of His creation.

There is a good deal of enthusiasm and excitement among many, in the Centre Place, as we anticipate the

events and activities planned for the spring and summer. There will be another gathering of the Priesthood,

at Oak Grove RB on Saturday, March 8, 2014, sponsored by the Conference of Restoration Elders.

This will be followed by a week of "Church Heritage" events beginning Sunday, March 30 with a

5th Sunday preaching service at Waldo/CPRS, a Testimony Service on Tues. April 1, Prayer Service on

Thur. April 3, an all day gathering of the Saints on Sat. April 5th, and a combined Sacrament Service on

Sunday, April 6, 2014. The weekly events are co-sponsored by the Conference of Restoration Elders and

Pastors of Zion. I would encourage all the Saints of Australia to do a review of church history during this

time, individually, as families, and in the branches. We hold our Church Heritage most sacred and realize

the "dream of Zion" must go from a dream to a reality in our lifetime. We especially hold in very high

esteem our friendship and brotherhood with all the Saints in Australia and I thank each of you for remaining

strong in the faith of our forefathers and mothers. We know that Australia has been a great support and

example to the church since the gospel was first introduced there in 1841 by Andrew Anderson and his

family. They settled at the junction of the Bell and Macquarie rivers in a community known as Montefiore.

By December 25, 1844, Brother Anderson had organized a branch of nine members. However, the church

mainly accredits its beginnings in Australia with the ministry of Charles Wandell and Glaud Roger in 1874.

The CRE and SEAAM board are praying that the Lord will direct at least one, but hopefully more

Saints from Australia to join us this summer for the Restoration Branch Family Reunion and Conference

of Restoration Elders June 22-27, 2014 at Waldo/CPRS in Independence, MO. If anyone is interested in

coming, let us know soon, so we can assist with travel arrangements, lodging, etc. There are some funds

available to assist Saints coming from other countries.

The SEAAM Australia sub-committee has met and selected Bob Schrunk to serve as Chair and Paul Gage

as Secretary. We will give full attention to the needs for ministry in Australia and earnestly seek input from

the branches and Saints of Australia as to how we can best be of assistance.

We hope to have the Tidings of Zion in the mail within a week or two. There will be some articles of

interest to the Saints. Send us your testimonies and experiences so we can share them with the Saints around

the world.

God bless and keep each of you in His tender care and arms of Love.

Kelvin View Mission News submitted by Elder G,D. Grayden, Pastor Kelvin View, Victoria.

We have endured two heat waves in Victoria and have certainly been grateful for our little church in the

hills where the air is so fresh to help with the summer blast.

Communion was observed on the 1st

Midweek studies have been held at Murray and Delma Broughton’s home and this provides for several

members and one non member friend.

Visitors on one Sunday from Melbourne were Bro.Anthony Grayden and also John Grayden, the Pastor’s

brother. This was a delight to see them and we thank Anthony for driving the long distance to enhance our

service. The Pastor’s pet Trixie, also enjoyed the presence of Anthony’s pet, Ruby. They patiently waited in

the car during the service.

We have enjoyed a preaching series on difficult sayings of Jesus including: “Eating His flesh and blood”,

I and the Father are one”, and “Faith removes mountains”. These have created much interest.

We continue to appreciate the free use of the Kelvin View Hall (apart from the electricity costs) each

Sunday, and it is transformed into a church and decorated with lovely flowers by Srs.Delma and Betty

Tamworth News submitted by Sr.Bev.Wilkinson

On Sunday 19th January we met at 93 Glen Garvin Drive for Family Worship, Class, and Worship. Elder

Peter Archer Spoke on “Forgiveness”. He said the old year is past and the New Year is here. Wisdom is

being valiant in testimony and forgiveness. In the Lords Prayer we pray “ forgive us our trespasses as he

forgive those who trespass against us. Matthew 6.16. If we don’t forgive, we will not be forgiven. The

greatest forgiveness was when our Lord Jesus said after being scourged, beaten and, before being crucified

prayed, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. Luke 23:35

We met together on Sunday 26th of January for family Worship, Class and Preaching. Elder Peter’s

sermon was on “Faith”: The faith of Ammon, and the conversion of King Lamoni and many Lamanites.

Ammon went out in faith, believing the Lord would go before him and sustain him.

On Friday 31st January Elder Peter, Sr. Helen, Br. Bob Wilkinson and I travelled to Port Macquarie .

On Saturday at 3.30 pm Elder Peter blessed Malachi Aaron Dunn, baby son of Lance and Georgia Dunn,

in their home at 10 Daintree Lane, Light House Beach. Grandmother Merran, Isabella, Xavier, Charlotte

Dunn and Georgia’s family attended the Blessing. Malachi was born on the 9th of January 2014. On Sunday

2nd February, Elder Peter officiated at a Communion Service at the Dunn family home with eleven people

Elder Peter spoke on “Worship” on Sunday 9th February. He said, “ the dictionary defines worship as

many things: “ Honour, homage, respect, praise, esteem, adore, glorify and kneel before.” Peter spoke

on the Samaritan woman. Jesus said to her in John 4:25 “For the hour cometh, and now is, when the true

worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.

Deacon Roy Schubert gave the Benediction.

Thank you for the prayers offered for Elder Danny Archer who recently moved to Sydney to take up

his new employment position. He has found an apartment and moves in this weekend. He has to get some

furniture now to complete the transition.

We have received rain, after many months of drought. Praise the Lord.

A Testimony “Thanking God for His many blessings” submitted by Sr.Gianna Loyd. Newcastle.

As I was checking my skin one morning, I noticed a pink spot on my arm. I thought I must have bumped

it and that it would go away by itself, but alas, it was not healing. I was out to lunch with my girlfriend and I

had a short sleeve top on and she said to me “what is that spot on your arm”. I replied that I didn’t know and

she urged me to get it checked right away. So the very next day I phoned the Skin Cancer Clinic and was

told that the next available appointment was January 23rd. The Doctor took a swab of my arm and sent it to

pathology. I waited anxiously for the results which took a week to come back. The Doctor’s office rang and

asked me to come back on February 3rd

said I had a squamous cell carcinoma. Naturally, I was upset about it, but the Doctor assured me that it was

on the surface layer of the skin and needed to be cut out pronto. So I had the 20 minute procedure done and

8 stitches in my arm. I felt completely at peace during the procedure and I had 2 shots of local anesthetic in

my arm to numb it so I did not feel a thing, thank goodness. I had another test done to make sure the cancer

was all gone .I had my stitches removed on February 14th

come back negative, all the cancer having been removed. I thanked God for His many blessings. I urge all

Australians to be aware of the harshness of the sun in this fair land of ours and to have regular skin checks.

It could save your life. I know God was with me every step of the way. I am glad I listened to my friend

who prompted me to get a skin examination.

A Family Reunion is being planned for Easter 2015 to be held at the resort at Mt.Seaview which is

accommodation, including a good number of self contained units. It is being advised so far in advance so

that people can plan to keep the time available and also to budget for it. It is also hoped that we will get a

good response from the youth as well as families and individuals, so that we can all share in a memorable

experience. More detailed information will be provided as plans are finalised. Anyone requiring further

Keeping a Sweet Heart

February is national heart month. Not only do we celebrate our loved ones
with candy hearts, decadent chocolate and mushy love notes, but it is also
the time of year to think about the heart health. The heart is a powerful
muscle whose primary function is to pump blood to all parts of the body,
delivering nutrients and oxygen to your organs and tissues. In an average
day the heart will beat more than 100,000 times per day, pumping more than
4,300 gallons of blood throughout the entire body. However, in 2002, the World Health
Organization estimated that 16.7 million people around the world die of heart disease. Heart disease affects 1 out of 4 men and is the leading cause of death among women. Heart failure may occur suddenly, or develop gradually over years. But one thing is for certain, exercise and nutrition habits play a major role in preventing heart disease. Here are some nutrition tips to ensure you send many more roses and love notes for many years to come.

Eat for Your Sweet Heart:

• Fruits and Vegetables: Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables ensures that you are
taking in a wide range of nutrients to protect against heart disease. Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamin C, beta carotene, bioflavanoids and phytochemicals, all of which are essential antioxidants in the prevention of heart disease.

• Omega 3 Fatty Acids: Omega 3’s have been found to help decrease triglyceride levels, the rate of atherosclerotic plaque, and arrhythmias. Fish high in Omega 3 include: salmon, sardines, herring, trout, mackerel, bluefish, halibut, striped bass, tuna, Atlantic cod, and flounder. Other sources of Omega 3– rich foods include: canola oil, flaxseed, walnuts, and wheat germ.

• Soluble Fiber: Soluble fiber helps to decrease cholesterol levels, therefore working to
decrease risk for heart disease. Foods high in soluble fiber include: oats, oat bran, pectin, psyllium, flax, lentils, legumes, apples, pears, and grapes.

• Nuts: Nuts are high in fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, and essential fatty acid. Eaten in
moderation, nuts can help decrease risk for heart disease. A few examples of some heart healthy nuts include: almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, peanuts, and pistachios.

• Folate: Foods rich in folate help to decrease risk for heart disease by helping to regulate homocysteine levels. Green leafy vegetables, orange juice, lentils, whole grain enriched cereals, and asparagus are great sources of folate.

• Check out CoQ10.

• Virtually every cell in your body contains CoQ10, which is concentrated in the
mitochondria. Heart cells have approximately 5,000 mitochondria each, more than any
other cells. In addition, CoQ10 is a strong antioxidant, which can help prevent premature aging and free radical damage.

• Today, numerous trials indicate CoQ10’s unique ability to support heart health
and function. Clinical studies on CoQ10 suggest that it can promote optimal heart
function and normal blood pressure levels. Our bodies produce CoQ10 naturally, but
unfortunately, our CoQ10 level declines with age. By the time you reach your 40s, your
body’s CoQ10 level may have dropped by as much as 30%. Taking statins drugs may

Update on October Prayer Request - Melva Cackler

--------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Melva Cackler

Update on October Prayer Request

Dear Saints,
If you remember the following request we sent out last October, we finally have joyful news for you!!!

(October) Prayer Request for Melva Cackler

The results of PET/CT scans have convinced several doctors that Melva has metastasized cancer to her one of her lungs.
She is requesting your prayers of joy and praise for a complete healing for her.
If you could especially pray around 9 AM this Sunday, October 27 she would appreciate it so very much.

Our wonderful news is:

After receiving the results of a CT scan I had earlier this month, I learned that I NO LONGER HAVE STAGE 4 CANCER!!! The nodule in my lung went from 2.5cm (October) to 9mm (February). The oncologist said the nodule is now too small to be concerned about. He said things like this happen sometimes but they have no explanation for it. He just wishes he could have been involved in the cancer going away and regrets that he wasn't.

When I explained that hundreds of people were praying for me and that I am using alternative supplements, etc, used for treating cancer he just repeated his statement. But, he was extremely happy for me! (Although I had major surgery for the primary cancer, I declined chemo and also declined an extremely risky CT-guided lung biopsy which would have been required prior to any conventional treatments such as chemotherapy.) I have a follow up appointment in two months.

Spending three months in my homeland (Australia) with my family, friends, and favorite places was so very special and, I believe, assisted in my healing (more details below.)

THANK YOU, everyone!!!

May each of you continue to experience God's wonderful blessings! --Melva

More details:
When I sent out my prayer request last October I did not explain that in April 2013 my husband, Bob, and I had purchased plane tickets for a three-month trip to my homeland (Australia)--from November 1 to February 1. When September and October began filling up with doctor appointments and testing we struggled with not only my health issues but with our travel plans. During October I had several amazing experiences that convinced me it was important and part of the healing process for us to continue with plans for our trip--this was also an answer to prayer and we were truly blessed during our time there!!!

"Power of One"

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Kyle Bryant

Hi, my name is Cole, and I have a project called the Power of One. This project is designed to teach that through the ideas and dedication of even just one "small" person, I can make a difference in my community or the entire world!

My idea, with my dad's help, is to collect a goal of 100 pairs of sandals to give to the Philippines mission that my church helps to sponsor. You can see a picture here of my dad with some of the children that he met last year when he visited them.

I am asking for just one small donation to help fund this project. You can make a donation through this website or can email my dad at if you would like to send your donation to our home address through the mail. He will give you that information in an email response.

I am going to ask several companies who sell sandals if they would like to donate sandals for this cause as well. They might even sell them to me at a discount! The sandals range in price from $1.00-$3.00 a pair and will cost me $2.00 a pound to take them on the airplane with the next mission trip sometime this spring.

My goal is to collect $350.00 or less depending on any business sandal donations. If you would like to help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Any donations that go over my goal will help to fund even more sandals!

My project deadline is April 15th.

To visit the donation site, just go to this link and you will see my profile page.

Thanks for your help!

- Cole

Tree Removal

--------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Paula Swayne

Tree Removal

We are really in a bind. We found out, after having some dead limbs removed, that our wonderful tree needs to be totally taken down. After hearing the cost we knew we cannot afford to do it. We also know it is a danger to our home.

We are on a fixed income, and David has severe and complicated health I am on my own. It would probably take a crew, because it is a big tree.

If anyone out there has the ability to help I would really appreciate it. I may be able to pay for rental of equipment or gas or something, but I am afraid if another big wind comes it will be the end of our home.

Let My People Prepare to Receive My Spirit - Class by Yvonne Galusha

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: James Hobbs

Let My People Prepare to Receive My Spirit
Saturday March 22nd at Waldo from 2 PM to 5 PM
Class by Yvonne Galusha

We would ask that you make preparation for this class, for these things are sacred, and we must not treat lightly the things of heaven. The Lord usually blesses us according to the degree of our preparation. We are looking at tremendous events occurring in the next few months and years. Because of her study and education, Yvonne has a unique perspective of past events and their influence on present and future events. Come and share with us, I am sure you will be blessed.

1. To show that now is the time to go forth in valiant testimony for the last time, in the closing days before Zion is redeemed
2. To show what is needed individually and collectively, to accomplish valiant testimony
3. To show the pattern and things that we must change to be used more by the Lord, in the very moments that He will bring to each one
4. To show that the Lord desires greatly to use each one, to bring many into His sanctuary

Yvonne Galusha, baptized at the age of eight unto a holy covenant with Jesus Christ, was raised by faithful saints. At a young age Yvonne learned of the Spirit and the importance of studying the scriptures. She has pursued, independently, with a passion, the study of scripture, theology, and relevant history throughout her adult life.
The ability to obtain and organize information was enhanced by her secular education and experience. Yvonne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and Masters of Business Administration. She worked for AT&T-NCR for twelve years as a programmer, engineering manager, and senior product manager, and has taught at the collegiate level for twenty-one years. At present Yvonne is completing her eleventh year at the University of Iowa as a Lecturer in the Management Sciences department at Tippie College of Business. Yvonne uses her secular skills to support church work by writing and maintaining several web sites and web systems for various Restoration organizations.
In 1981 Yvonne married George Galusha, they have four children, all of whom are baptized, faithful members of the church. Yvonne looks forward to the time when she can share and teach the material she has prepared over the years in her study of the scripture.

Forming Youth Choir

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Lynn Ridenhour

Forming Youth Choir

For all young people between the ages 15 and 35, this is for you. We’re forming a youth choir and we’re calling it The Restored Gospel Youth Choir. We’re quite excited about it. The choir will be made up of young people from all the various restoration factions; i.e., LDS, Community of Christ, Restoration Branches, Remnant. It will be a great way to meet new friends, to travel together, and to have fun, as well as be a part of something that we’re convinced will make history.

Meet our choir director…

Introducing our Choir Director

Inline image 1

Kristopher D. Taylor

Kristopher D. Taylor has been involved in the Kansas City music world since he was 5 years old. As a native of Independence, Missouri, he grew up in a rich musical heritage that included choral, orchestral, and gospel genres.

As a student, Kristopher has studied at Brigham Young University, Central Missouri State University, UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, as well as participating in a distance research program through the Florida State University.

As a composer/arranger, Kristopher has written choral literature that spans from SATB to two-part youth choir settings. He has studied under and attended master-classes with Dr. Doug Helvering, Morton Lauridsen, and Stephen Paulus. In 2015, three of his “Americana” arrangements will be published as a set of variations of American folk tunes by Santa Barbara Publishing, Inc.

As a singer, Kristopher has performed with the BYU Singers, the Grammy nominated Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Vox Luminese Chamber Choir, and has recently recorded media projects with San Francisco-based men’s ensemble Chanticleer. He has been a chorister and soloist in the Highland Music Festival, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has participated in concerts in Carnegie Hall, The National Cathedral, Christ-Church Abbey, and London’s famed Southwark Cathedral. This year, he was selected to participate in the Tallis Scholar Summer Camp program under directors Rebekah Gilmore and Peter Phillips.

As a conductor, Kristopher has worked with Mack Wilberg, Craig Jessop, Ron Staheli, Jo-Michael Scheibe, and Peter Bagley, among others. He has directed the BYU-Idaho Jazz and Symphonic Bands, and is the assistant director of the Center Place Singers. Kristopher is also the founder and artistic director of the Kansas City-based chamber ensemble Ancora Chorale.

In addition to his conducting duties, Kristopher currently holds membership with Spire Symphonic Chamber Choirs, Te Deum Chamber Choir, and the KC Men’s Ensemble, with which he recently performed at the KCDA state convention at Grace Cathedral, in Topeka, Kansas. He is a current member of the American Choral Directors Association, ASCAP, and the Missouri Educators Association. He also operates a full voice and piano studio in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, and serves as a board advisor for the Spire Choir organization.

We are so fortunate to have Kristopher as our director of the historical Restored Gospel Youth Choir.

“They did break forth—all as one—in singing and praising their God.”

(3 Nephi 2:78)

*If you’re between the ages of 15 and 35, live in the KC metro surrounding area, and you love to sing, contact Kristopher: 816-929-5042. We’d love to have you in the choir! The choir will not only be performing concerts around the Kansas City metro area, we will be touring as well. What a way to make friends and to serve the Lord!

Center Place Restoration School – Job Openings

Center Place Restoration School – Job Openings

Through the sacrifice and diligence of so many in the Restoration movement, Center Place Restoration School, a truly Zionic endeavor, has educated and equipped our youth for the past 22 years. During the past 16 of those years, the vision and direction for the school has been executed by the sacrificial devotion of Seventy Richard Neill. Mr. Neill’s contributions to the school as the Administrator are without comparison; the goodwill of the school has always been foremost in his thoughts and desires. It is for this reason and under the impress of the good Spirit that Mr. Neill has put forth the thought that it is now time to transition the leadership of the school and the Administrator’s position to the next generation.

Due to Mr. Neill’s recent decision and announcement, CPRS is actively seeking applications for the following positions for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year.

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR - has scheduled work hours Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m., additionally, attendance at extracurricular school activities is encouraged. Job responsibilities include: supervision and oversight of all school-related matters including, but not limited to, budget, staffing and hiring, building management, curriculum, fundraising and adherence to Restoration doctrine and principles.

SCHOOL PASTORS - volunteer positions are available for scheduled work hours of 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. This position is intended to be a shared responsibility among two or more Priesthood members and is designed to enhance the Spiritual welfare of the school, students, faculty and staff as well as to provide ministerial counseling when needed. Ideal candidates would enjoy working with and interacting with youth 5-18 years-old.

For a complete application packet for both the School Administrator and School Pastor positions, please email Joe Williams, Chairman of the CPRS Board of Trustees, at . Applications due March 21st.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON...Essential Oils 101 Class

For those who could not either make it last night or for those asking for a daytime class, we are having an Essential Oils 101 class this Sunday afternoon (2/16/2014) at 3 pm here at The Mansion House, 2121 So. Sterling Avenue, Independence, MO 64052

This has been a popular class, because it educates on the history of the oils, how they were used during biblical times, what the difference is in the making of the oils, and what makes up the different quality of the oils/how they are used.

Again, THIS IS A FREE CLASS. There will be no order forms or catalogues. If you wish to purchase any, you can take me aside, and I can help you at our wholesale price, however this will not be promoted within the class.

Because of limited seating I will need to have you give me an RSVP, preferably by phone at (816) 456-6880.

The class will be in The Mansion House itself in front of the fire, very cozy. Just come in on the 21st Street entrance. There is a parking lot on 22nd, however because of the snow that still may be around in probably would be more convenient to park as close to the entrance as you can.

Hope to hear from you soon. It will be a lot of fun.....

Restoration Seventy Minister in Baptist Church

[Restoration Seventy] Seventy Minister in Baptist Church

Sunday morning February 9, 2014

Brother Randy Vick had shared with the brethren during our weekend retreat of a prompting of the Spirit that took place in Kansas City during the fall of 2013. This experience lead him to a Baptist Church located near Gregory and 71 Hwy. Contacts were made with the pastor of this congregation and after several months a scheduled visit to this assembly arranged for Sunday the 9th.

Brothers Vick, Mbanaso and Jim McKay arrived near the conclusion of the mornings Sunday school class. Brother Randy was asked to close that portion of their services with a word of prayer as the congregation gathered near the front of the sanctuary while holding hands. After a brief break the preaching hour began with the three of us invited to the rostrum. Brother Jim was asked to offer a word of prayer near the beginning of this part of the worship. There were in attendance 50 plus member of the body on a very cold, wintry day. Reverend Troy then invited each of us to speak. Brother Randy shared with those in attendance the experience that lead to our visit that morning. Brother Hensley then spoke followed by brother Jim. Each of us found the blessing of the Spirit in the time we occupied. As the service neared it completion a young man approached the rostrum specifically asking for Brother Jim to pray for him. After a brief discussion with Reverend Troy, Brother Jim made some remarks to the congregation about the ordinance as outlined in James the fifth chapter. Brother Jim anointed with Brother Randy confirming and Brother Hensley also assisting. It was a new experience for all of us and not necessarily understanding just where the Lord is leading or desiring, but we can all testify of the presence of the Spirit that attended our ministries and the warmth of love that greeted us by Reverend Troy and his congregation.

We trust that opportunities such as this will follow the Lord's servants wherever they labor and encourage the children of men to press into the Kingdom.

We humbly submit this brief report, your servants in Christ,

Brothers Randy, Hensley and Jim

FROM: Manuel Castillo

Please Pray for Norm Hamilton

Norm is a friend of Manuel and Sharon Castillo and is in need of great prayer. After repeated knee surgeries, he has developed a serious infection that is eating his leg bones. Doctors have not isolated the source and have not been able to find the right treatment. This could cost Norm his leg or his life. Norm is not a Restorationist but recognizes the power of prayer.

Updates on Joey Edson

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Ron Hofsommer

Update on Joey Edson - Feb 6

Well, Joey had all the CT scans today. It took two of them and three catheters to get an IV started (I was about to do it myself), then he wasn't happy about having to drink the barium, but at least he didn't have to lie on his back for very long. He said the worst part was that they made him raise both arms above his head, which is something almost physically impossible for him right now. We'll get the results next Tuesday.

Update: Feb 7

Praise the Lord! Finally some good news! The nurse called from the surgeon's office. He got the reports back today from the scans and asked her to call us immediately to let us know they were clear! We still have an appointment Monday with a hematologist, then we go see the surgeon again on Tues, but this was definitely the news we were hoping for!

Donna Comfort - Appreciation

This is a request in behalf of Donna Comfort

All those who count Donna as a friend or have been the recipient of her assistance in the past, please join me in sending her letters of appreciation and encouraging words. Her name means “Lady of Comfort” and that is exactly what Donna has been all the years I have known her. An early riser, she always had a project going and most of the time it involved taking care of the needs of those around her, whether it was cleaning houses, raking leaves, driving a friend to an appointment, or contributing to expenses of one kind or another. And if she couldn’t fill a bill, she knew someone who can. This world would not be nearly as nice as it is if Donna were not in it. I value her and I know many others do too.

Some of you may not know this, Donna and her friend Marilyn owned an English Tudor style home in Rochester, New York, and operated Gingerbread House, a party place for children from their home. In 1983, they gathered to Independence to take care of Marilyn’s mother, who was failing in health. Donna and Marilyn love to travel and on a trip to Kenya in 1992, by divine appointment, they arranged to meet Pam and Eric Odida, thus reestablishing the Restoration gospel work in Kenya. Since that time they have done various things to help raise funds for the Kenya saints travel to Independence for conferences and supporting the work there.

Parkinson’s disease has slowed Donna up in recent months and she sticks close to home. Her address is 4221 S. Mc Coy, Independence, MO 64055. Thank you for taking the time to express you love and appreciation for Donna. I know she will be greatly blessed by your words. If you are not gifted in writing, please call her and share a memory, laugh, or love with her. Her number is 816-373-3234.

Emily's mission trip to Puerto Rico

This summer my daughter Emily Scott has the opportunity to bring ministry to the deaf community of Puerto Rico through music and dance. Emily, who has been deaf since birth, wears two cochlear implants is an accomplished ballroom dancer. It will involve a weekend retreat full of workshops for the deaf community, for parents of deaf children, and for those who work with the deaf. We will be working in the areas of Arecibo and Fajardo. We will be hosting a weekend retreat in Arecibo and then traveling to Fajardo to a small deaf school. At the deaf school we will be doing a service project and hosting workshops along with a deaf social picnic. Emily will be traveling with several girls her age as well as adults that are both hearing and deaf. Emily has always felt led by the Lord to minister somewhere but until now has not known where. The cost will cover airfare, cabs, buses, food and lodging. She has such peace about this trip so won't you help her by donating to this worthy cause?

If you would like to help please go to the link at the bottom and donate.

Update- Joey Edson

Let's keep praying, everyone!!!

Chris Edson

Well, the surgeon called and the results came back. The news is not good. Several lymph nodes came back showing cancer, so we are probably looking at another surgery to remove all the lymph nodes on that side. However, before doing that, we are supposed to see and Oncologist and schedule body scans to see if the cancer has spread. If it has, then it is pointless to do the other surgery. Obviously we are in for a bumpy ride. Prayers are appreciated. I know that through the turbulence, God is still the pilot, so I'm hanging onto that thought.

Come eat delicious chili, warm cornbread, and yummy desserts

provided by the Warrensburg RCM

When: Saturday, February 22, 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Where: Colbern Road Restoration Branch

The donations from this dinner will provide transportation,

lodging, and food expenses for the Older Youth of RCM on a

weekend trip in March to put on a church service

at a small branch near Branson, Missouri

In years past, we have used funds from the Chili Dinner to take

a week-long Spring Break Trip and bring ministry in another

state, but this year we only have a few people who would be

able to leave for an entire week, so we decided to provide

ministry to a closer congregation to allow more people to come

and still be in the service of our Lord.
