Betty was born September 20, 1927 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Florence and Rudolph Dostal. She was the oldest of three children, She had two brothers, Richard and Rudy. At the age of 7, she left Nebraska with her Mother and two young brothers, and moved eventually to a home in Independence.

She graduated from William Chrisman High School, Class of 1945, where she met her future husband, Owen Anthony. They were married on August 23, 1949. They raised three boys, Dennis, Darrell, and Doug. She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, watching baseball games, and serving in her church congregation. She was a member of the Summit Grove congregation of the Community of Christ. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Day Care staff, and contributed pies and casseroles to many a pot luck dinner.

Survivors include; 3 sons, Dennis Anthony and wife Tami of Stockton, MO, Darrell Anthony and wife Virginia of Lee’s Summit, MO and Doug Anthony and wife Becky of Oskaloosa, IA; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousin’s, friends and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Owen Anthony, two brothers Richard and Rudy Dostal, and her beloved Grandson Michael Anthony.

We were so blessed to have you for such a long time, Mom. Thank you for touching our lives. Because we received your unconditional Christian love…. We will never be quite the same!
