Obituary of Tom Beem



Thomas John Beem, 69, a resident of Independence, MO passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home. He was born on January 21, 1949 to Ray and Doris (Luff) Beem in Independence.

Tom was united in marriage to Carol Ann Myers on August 7, 1971 in San Jose, CA. He was a High Priest in the Church and enjoyed teaching and preaching the gospel throughout the Midwest and California. His church ministry was his greatest joy and he loved the Lord Jesus with a great passion. Tom enjoyed scripture study, wood working and designing model railroads. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Carol A. Beem of Independence, MO; sons, Mark Beem (Dyanna) and their children, Gabriel and Elizabeth of Independence, Michael Beem (Janey) and their children, Joseph, Lindsay and Julia of Independence; daughter, Melissa Owings (Brad) and their children, Kathryn, Bethany, Annalise, Sariah and Marshall of Sibley; sister, Rae Simmons of Independence; brothers, Steven Beem of Independence, and Randall Beem (Coleen) of Independence.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service honoring Tom’s life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Zarahemla Restoration Branch, 502 S.W. 17th St, Blue Springs, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs.
