LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD DECEMBER 18, 2025

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD DECEMBER 18, 2025

Glorious greetings and salutations to each lovely servant of our Lord, JESUS CHRIST,

Though we are into the Christmas season, which many people of the world believe to be the date of the birth of Jesus Christ, it is still amazing and perhaps even shocking at the number of people, even Christians, even Restorationists who don’t seem to put much emphasis actually on JESUS. It is disturbing to get Christmas cards from church people that don’t even mention Jesus Christ. I was in a public establishment one time and they were playing rap music. When I suggested that they play Christmas music, one of the supervisors said, “We did that and many people complained,” so they gave in to the complaints. The world, at large, especially the western world appears to be “complaining” about anything that is a reference to God and Jesus Christ. Wherein do they have any hope or joy for the future on this earth and beyond?

The only real joy anyone can have is in Jesus Christ and the great sacrifice He made to save us from our sins and alienation from God, if we so choose. In spite of countless pages of research, no one, except God knows when Jesus was really born, but the most important thing is that HE WAS BORN and lives today, to offer us salvation and a place in His Kingdom. We won’t make it to His Kingdom until we are willing to give up “Our kingdoms.” The following hymn is not particularly a Christmas hymn though it normally is only used around Christmas time. However, is applicable to us every day of our lives. Joy to the World was Written in 1719 by the English minister and hymnist Isaac Watts The hymn's lyrics are a Christian interpretation of Genesis 3 and Psalm 98.

Joy to the world; the Lord is come!
Let Earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,  and heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the Earth, the Savior reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sin and sorrow grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love and wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

God bless

Paul Gage
