IIAW Event Reminders and Update
Hello, IIAW and Unity Center Friends,
Saturday, September 24, Meal Prep for Beloveds, 8-9:30am, Unity Center, 803 W. 23rd Street
We had an excellent turnout for the neighborhood clean up September 10th, partnering with the Independence Sustainability Commission to do litter pickup in the neighborhood south of 24 Hwy and Spring Street. A total of four groups participated - Fountain City Roller Derby members, Kindness KC, Sustainability Com. members and the IIAW. This shows the city is cooperating to tackle needs. IIAW crews also cleaned the Unity Center and did meal prep for Beloveds. Praise Him for opening hearts to see and meet our city's many issues together. That's how the Kingdom works.
Members of TEAM JESUS, KC and Pastors Brian and Yvonne Carline attended Living Hope Restoration Church at 2425 S. Crysler. Pastor C. spoke to L.H. members about the war being waged for our children's souls, and how working individually and together we can have victory over child neglect, abuse, and endangerment. The Church, Body of Christ, has the calling to spread the love of Jesus throughout the community and be His hands and feet in our neighborhoods. We all have a part to play in our Father's Business reclaiming our city.
Two shower stalls, and washer/dryer installations are nearly complete at the Unity Center. A groundwater leak in the basement is also resolved, allowing worship services to resume in the next month. An Hispanic worship group will be offering worship and aid services soon at the center.
