LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD OCTOBER 5, 2023

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD OCTOBER 5, 2023

Greetings Dear Saints,

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Very familiar scripture to us, and it seems from that scripture that the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven will be an on going time when those present will be without all the worldly attractions and temptations and be able to devote their full efforts and energies to praising and glorifying God. Are we able to do that now? A question each one must answer for themselves.

Though difficult, try to think what that Kingdom will be like. Ponder on that for a while. Then think of the last 24 hours of your life. How do these two “match up?”

Take some time, today, to review 2 Nephi 3 and see how your life compares to Nephi. He did not have all the things we have to deal with, but he still had to deal with people-mainly family. Nephi may have even thought of giving up, but realized where his strength and hope was and that with the Spirit of God to nourish and guide him he could say in 2 Nephi3:65-66.

Also look up Philippians 2:1-16. Not only upon Paul was laid the responsibility of preaching (and living) the unsearchable riches of Christ so that all may see. We share that responsibility as well.

Actually, all men may see only when all of us, who have shared in this grace through covenant and commission also preach (live) this gospel of God’s Kingdom. We do this only as we so live the Christ-like way that all those around us see what is meant by the unsearchable riches of Christ. It is the glowing Spirit of Jesus living in us constantly that witnesses to the worth of the gospel.

Just as people felt the radiance of Jesus when He passed by, so should those who see us from day to day come to feel that we have heard him and know that He is the Savior of the world. Why? Because we preach (live) Christ by the radiation of His Spirit that should be within us. This not an easy thing to do, but Nephi, Paul and many others have shown the way. The magnitude of the kingdom on earth as it is in heaven becomes real when we live it and others see it. (Last two paragraphs are from the 1970 Daily Bread.

Portions of a prayer from a Diary of Private Prayer. Almighty and eternal God, Thou art hidden from my sight; Thou art beyond the understanding of my mind; Thy thoughts are not my thoughts; Thy ways are past finding out. Yet hast Thou breathed Thy Spirit into my life; Thou formed my mind to seek Thee and inclined my heart to love Thee; Thou hast made me restless for the rest that is in Thee; Thou hast planted within your children the hunger and thirst for your kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. May we live for that great event when Jesus comes in all His Glory. In His Name Amen.

Yea for that time when

“We’ll sing and we’ll shout with the armies of heaven,

HOSANNA, HOSANNA, to God and the Lamb.

Let glory to them in the highest be given,

Hence forth and forever. Amen and Amen.

If you believe it, sing it!

God bless

Paul Gage
