ZIONWORKS NEWS, June 23, 2022 WHAT IS STOPPING ZION?
Hello Saints,
Frequently, talk is counterproductive.
We've been talking for 192 years! Theorizing about Zion and waiting for "someone" to establish Zion's physical reality has eventually become the church's role in establishing Zion. Where is this place of safety and refuge for the beleaguered and oppressed saints that are now gathering in?! Who or what is stopping Zion's physical reality? Could it be you and me? Let's, each of us in our personal response to Christ, just make it happen. Wait! Won't we then be ostracized by our friends, family and even church members? Yes-- Ask yourself this: Who are you going to answer to at judgment day for the use of your time and your promised commitments to the kingdom? What person or organization can you or I blame for not personally moving out and making Zion a physical reality? Find comfort in this: There is a group of spiritually and physically dedicated saints working cooperatively to make, under Christs direction, Zion a reality. What less than Zion does God want from us?
Zionworks is the working arm of Christ's church for the actualization of His kingdom on the earth as an aggregate of individuals committed to living by His love, counsel and instruction. It is a growing group dedicated to surviving, under Christ's direction, through tribulation and providing a place of safety and refuge for the pure in heart. Its purpose is not just physical survival, but just as important, the spiritual nourishment, enabling and unleashing of each individual needing and seeking wholeness. You are invited to investigate and participate.
Our next meeting will be this coming Sunday, June 26th at Atherton Restoration branch, 4910 N. Main st. Atherton, Mo at 2:00pm. If it would be a convenience to you, you may arrive at 1:30 with your lunch. The folks at Atherton extend an invitation to you to attend their morning worship service at 9:45, Sunday school at 10:00 and worship at 11:00, and getting acquainted afterwords.
The agenda for ZionWorks meeting will concern practical and necessary means for seeing that each family has a source of food for a period of months or years. We will also deal with providing means for those gathering in to live and to exercise their spiritual gifts and contribute to the well being of Zion. Committees exist for ensuring safe water for each ZionWorks family, for grid down communication, for gathering saints, for geographical group support, for "watchmen on the watch tower" and off-grid medical attention. All committees need more active support. Vital committees still without designated leaders are: Food sourcing, Farming/gardening, Alternative energy and Sanitation. The committees' purpose is to educate and ensure that each family can manage their own needs or exchange specialties so that all needs are meet. Some families have more resources than needs and visa versa. By cooperating, an efficient system of living will happen.
We do have a current need or request. A group of us will be getting together to sew cloth menstrual pads for our young ladies when the convenient disposable ones are no longer available. As part of our commitment to be actively engaged in preparing we are asking for certain items to be donated. The items are:
Plastic tubs with lids, must have lids (the kind ice cream or smaller powdered laundry soaps come in)
Flannel material (old flannel shirts, pajamas, flannel sheets)
Old cotton Tee shirts (must be 100% cotton) worn ok just not thread bare
Baby crib or mattress covers (netting on sides can be missing)
Scraps of 100% cotton batting from quilting projects
snaps
Just so you understand the scope of this project for 100 young ladies we will need approximately 1,000 sewn pads. I am sure there will be more than 100 young ladies in Zion...For those garage sale hobbyist I would ask you think about making a donation to this project and if you can pick up any of these items I am sure they will be very much appreciated by a young lady in the future. The sewing will begin on Saturday July 30 with drop off or pick up scheduled middle of July. These are much easier made in time of plenty than in time of need and scarcity. If you have questions you can call or text Nancy 816-289-7996 or e-mail her at: WTrailboss@aol.com Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
The Zion Workers
