Carolyn Sue Fann, 85, passed away on June 22, 2023. |
Carolyn was born on August 17, 1937, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of William A. Nast and Gladys W. Davis Nast. She spent the first years of her life in Minnesota, before moving to Independence MO. She graduated from Northeast High school in the class of 1955. The following year she married her high school sweetheart, Frank Fann. Together they raised three children and were married for 56 years. Carolyn was a faithful longtime member of the Church of Christ, having been baptized at the age of 10. Carolyn was an accomplished seamstress, a fantastic cook, and had a spunky personality. She was generous with her time and could often be found crocheting baby blankets or offering babysitting services to her nieces and nephews. After retiring from a job in medical records, she continued to volunteer at Centerpoint Medical Center. Carolyn and Frank kept busy traveling for the church, spending time with their grandchildren, camping, and going on cruises. Carolyn is survived by her three children, Bill Fann, Bob Fann, and Becky Rudd (David); four sisters, Jennifer Oldham (Bob), Belinda Smith (Mike), Melissa McGhee (Steve), Michele Fisher (Pat); five grandchildren, Jennifer McCarrison, Courtney Hefner (David), Cody Fann (Amy), Lindsey McIndoo (Tony), Trevor Fann (Jenny); and eight great-grandchildren, Addison Fann, Colin Pare’, Averie Fann, Blakely McIndoo, Brady Hefner, Macy McIndoo, Willow Hefner, and Henry Fann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, and siblings Lois and Donna. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, from 2- 3:00 pm, with a funeral service immediately following at 3pm, both at Church of Christ Temple Lot, 200 S. River in Independence. She will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. |
