THE CLEANSE

Briefly, the body and the mind cannot function properly when contaminated with substances that must be internally fought. Seemingly harmless things that most of us consume daily, like empty calories, sodas and other artificial sweetened drinks, anything with added sugar, processed meats, processed foods, nutrient depleted breads, most packaged snacks, etc. dull the senses. This is because the body must spend its vitality fighting these foreign invaders which have no purpose other than to deceive and damage us while posing as harmless or beneficial. We are usually unaware that this fight is going on. (How can one be aware that his mind is dulled?) The receptivity of the wonders that God tries to reveal to us are dulled so we end up thinking and perceiving on a dulled scale. For the mind and soul to be dulled is a great disappointment to Creator, God. He delights in revealing to us that which gives vitality, resourcefulness and high levels of thinking, energy and joyful life – a life that can transcend the normal confines of earth.

More toxic substances are, of course, more harmful – alcohol, tobacco, drugs and even many or most pharmaceuticals that are promoted by the pharmaceutical high priests. Both the seemingly harmless and the blatant poisons can only do damage, some with immediate disaster and some slowly but surely. Most of us are inevitably sick by having chosen to consume less-than-healthy substances and some of us will die early.

There are worse substances. Most entertainment, most “music” on the media and most of the other stuff on the media is absolute death to the mind and soul. Jesus told us to come out of Babylon and not to be partakers of her plagues. The soul cannot function when it has chosen to be characterized by disease and that which is contemptuous of eternal life. In this poisoned and diseased state, the mind and soul cannot perceive the true wonders of life, love and the universe that God wants to reveal and share – the windows are shut, the light is blocked out, yet the deception which remains is considered to be the whole substance of life. We must not quickly think that we ourselves are excluded from this category before examining ourselves before God.

For many, this state of being is a result of choice. For many others, this state of being was imposed on them by national, religious, family and peer culture. Whether this state was accidentally inflicted, made by choice or imposed by circumstances, these people will die without outside help. Act, speak, plan and pray to save those lives as we work to build the kingdom of God on the earth – the kingdom of love, happiness and fulfilment. God provides us a universe and a planet full of healthy choices to discover, enjoy and be enlivened by.

This discourse was so intelligent and prophetic that it would be interesting to print it in its entirety in the future.
