LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD FEBRUARY 6, 2025

LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD FEBRUARY 6, 2025

Greetings to the Light and Salt Saints God has planted all over the world,

Now into month two of 2025, how are things going for you? Hopefully facing all of life’s situations with the full assurance of our God of LOVE,

As a hymn states:

 There shall be showers of blessing, This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing, Sent from the Savior above.

There shall be showers of blessing, O that today they might fall,

Now as to God we’re confessing, Now as on Jesus we call!

There shall be showers of blessing, If we but trust and obey;

There shall be seasons refreshing, If we let God have His way.

Would you like to have showers of blessings instead of what seems to be the usual a drop here and a drop there? The hymn answers the question as do most, if not all, of God’s commandments/promises.

Where do we go, what do, we do NOW? Is it true that many Christians/Restorationists are content to just “Put the gear in park” and wait for Jesus to return and allow us to just walk into His Kingdom? A recent survey indicated that a large number of people, particularly younger people are tired of the messed up world we live in, with all the aspects of politics, differings of view points, confusion on every front and ir-regardless of who it might be, just want someone to take over our lives and tell us everything to do.

Do you know anyone with such an attitude? Do you know of someone who wants to do that very thing and has from the creation of mankind? Do you know of any other options beside the one just described? Hopefully you answered with a resounding ‘YES!!” and answered, JESUS CHRIST!!

A world champion football coach, each year at the first team meeting would show the team a football and say “Gentlemen, this is a football!” In other words, we were the champions last year, but this is a new season and we start with the basics. Have “we” forgotten or think we no longer need to follow the basic commandments of God? Jesus chose to come to earth, in the flesh, to show His creation the way to God’s Kingdom. He gave unconditional commandments/promises which we have access to in the three books of scripture and yet “we” continue to say. “I wish God would tell me/us what to do.”

Another hymn states: “How firm a foundation, ye Saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word; WHAT MORE CAN HE SAY THAN TO YOU HE HAS SAID, who unto the Savior for refuge have fled. A brother, in a class, a few years ago shared the testimony of his asking God a couple of questions, and God said, “I have already told you that!”

I visited a non-member last week who said they just couldn’t wait for the “Rapture.” I explained that I Thessalonians 4:16-18 is the true “Rapture.” In other words, Christians, Saints, Restorationists, etc are not going to be snatched up and escape whatever is ahead of us before Jesus returns in His Glory. So, what do we do and where do we go? I think one of the clearest scriptures that answers those questions is Doctrine and Covenants 81:3. Look it up, write it down, post it in several places in your home, car, and work and make it happen in YOUR life.

God bless

Paul Gage
