Jennifer Raffety Obituary Jennifer Irene (Fox) Raffety 64, of Independence, Missouri, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on January 14, 2026. Jennifer was born December 4, 1961 in Lawrence, Kansas the daughter of Jim Fox and Linda (Campbell) Fox. Jennifer was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1979 at the Spring Branch Church. From that point forward she never wavered for her love of Jesus Christ, it continued to be her mission in life to serve him with all of her heart, might, mind, and strength. She did so throughout her life, holding many different positions within the branches she attended. She served as activities director, helped with women’s departments, and assisted as music director as well. She was currently a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Mt. Zion Restoration Branch. Jennifer’s love of music created a constant desire to be of service to the Lord in this area. She loved studying the history of the hymns. She accumulated over 700 hymnals in her studies. In doing so she even went to the point of creating a hymnal, which was titled Make His Praise Glorious. Jennifer felt very strongly that this hymnal was compiled under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Her music also took her to sing in Religious bands, to sing at church, to play the Cello, and to teach whenever the possibility presented itself the history of the hymns. She was quite the hymnal scholar because of all her time studying and reading the history of the hymns. Among Jennifer’s joys in life was maintaining her home, homeschooling her children, having a variety of collectables, and crocheting. In her crocheting she found another area where she could be in service to others. While making afghans, scarfs, and prayer shawls, she actively did so for the group Cancer Action and also worked with the Knit Wits at St. Marks Catholic Church. Always with the servant’s heart, these groups were very important to her. Jennifer is survived by her father Jim Fox, brother Jeffrey Fox and sister Ann Fox, her two children Jonathan Michael Raffety and Emily Mary Raffety and son-in-law Rafael Marin Castaneda. Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother Linda Fox, and infant sister Jill Fox. Jennifer will be remembered for her Love of her Savior Jesus Christ, her work in the ministry of music, and her caring, sharing spirit. Her memory will live on because of those who have benefited from her sharing her loves with them. A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held on: Saturday Feb. 7th, at 11:00a.m. Mt. Zion Restoration Branch 15008 E. 35th Street Independence, Mo. 64055 Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating Jennifer’s life and legacy. |
