Next Steps to Stop the AI Data Center in Independence
There was a community-led meeting to Stop the AI Data Center in Independence. It was powerful to see neighbors come together across party lines to learn more, ask questions, and voice concerns about this project and its potential impact on our community.
Now, it’s time to take the next step — together.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 10th, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church
603 N. Jennings Rd, Independence, MO 64056
We’re grateful that two city councilmembers, John Perkins and Bridget McCandless, have agreed to attend so they can hear directly from residents.
Please plan to attend and help spread the word. We need them to vote NO on tax incentives for Nebius, the company planning to build the data center.
If you’re interested in volunteering or helping with outreach, research, or meeting support, you can sign up here.

We hope to see you on February 10th.
With gratitude,
