Lonnie Griffin Obituary and Memorial Service
Lonnie LaRue Griffin, 75, passed away on March 9, 2018.
Lonnie was a member of the Church of Christ, Restored Waldo Ave. Branch, he served the Lord, Jesus Christ as a priest in the church until his death.
Lonnie loved children and last worked as a bus monitor for head start for the Independence School District. He retired from that job in May of 2015 and then started volunteering at Lunch Partners in Independence. He enjoyed serving patrons that came to Lunch Partners and helping them in any way he could.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 19 years, Deana Lasley Griffin, his sons Chad and wife Olga of Lenexa Kansas, Boyd of Independence, Mo and his daughter, Amanda Wadkins of Pelican, Louisiana. He is also survived by grandchildren Valerie Velikaya,Thomas Mahaffey and Ryleigh Garret and step grandchildren Samantha Stoddard, Cassandra, Trevor and Jacob Wheeler, Christian Witt, Gabriel, Eric, and Anthony Lafaber, Krysta Beudoin, and adopted granddaughter Karla Stump. He also has 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Lonnie will be March 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Hope Restoration Branch on Crysler Ave.
