FASTING AND PRAYING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD June 27

FASTING AND PRAYING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

The High Priests of the Restoration Branches as well as many other groups and branches have asked the Saints to observe each Sunday as a day of fasting and prayer. There are many reasons for asking the Saints to fast and pray. The ultimate objective, however, is for the return of Jesus Christ in His Glory and the establishment of His Kingdom (Zion) on earth.

Jesus is our chief example regarding fasting and prayer, as he fasted and prayed often, as indicated in the scriptures. In our efforts to grow spiritually, we always hear fast, pray, and study. So, what is fasting?

We understand fasting to be the practice of deliberately abstaining from food for spiritual purposes. Fasting is a means by which a believer brings his body into subjection. Fasting breaks down the barriers in man's carnal nature that stand in the way of the Holy Spirit's omnipotence. (All powerful) Pray about fasting before you start and plan your program.

As things in the world continue to rage out of control, we, of the faith, may need to diligently increase our efforts to obtain God's direction for each of us so we might be a beacon of light for others. It has gone beyond one single incident of social injustice to flagrant destruction of most anything good. The Kingdom is the only hope for the world and JESUS CHRIST has already gained the victory. Perhaps it is time for each of us to "afflict" ourselves through fasting and mourn for the sins of the world and in the church as well as our individual lives.

Many Saints around the world were able last week to share in the CRE/POZ Reunion by modern technology. Many blessings were shared. There is a call for a Solemn Assembly in late September. More information regarding that and the results of the Reunion will be forthcoming..

There seems to be a pattern for calling a Solemn  Assembly:

1. There is  a problem.

2. Someone recognizes the problem.

3. The problem is presented to the people affected.

 4. A Solemn Assembly is called so the people can confess their sins before God and ask for deliverance.

 5. When the people approach God in the right manner He hears and blesses.

 6. Problem is solved.

Joel is a good book to become acquainted with regarding fasting and a  Solemn Assembly.

We are one week closer to Christ's return. Stay strong and hold fasting to the Rod of Iron.

Keep pressing on the upward way and
gain new heights every day.

God bless each of you in this time of trial and assist you in your efforts to come unto Him.
