Joseph Katchale

From:  Penny Curtis

Joseph Katchale

Dear Friends,

I would like to introduce a bright little boy named Joseph Katchale.

Joseph was born April 24 2010 and is 10 years old.  He lost his parents in 2015 when he was only 5 years old. The family was traveling on a bus from the capital of Linongwe to Ntcheu when the bus overturned and killed everyone on board except two children.

Joseph was one of the two that survived.  It was such a horrible accident that it was reported on the radio.  Fortunately, his uncle was able to find him at the hospital he was in because of that broadcast.

He lived with that Uncle until he was killed in an accident at work.  His grandmother was the only living family member that was still living.  Being blind and very poor she could not care for him with even the basic necessities of life as she herself begged for food to survive.

When she heard about the Hope Restoration Youth home she knew it was the only way that Joseph would have a chance to thrive.

Now Joseph is going to school, and is in the 4th grade.  He is being tutored to help him catch up to his peers in the afternoons at the Youth Home.

This child has endured so much tragedy and loss in his life.

He appreciates the love and support that will change his life forever.

May God Bless you as you pray for and support Joseph!
