Columbia Restoration Branch Building

COLUMBIA RESTORATION BRANCH
2410 Parker Street
Columbia MO 65202

Dear Saints:

The Columbia Restoration Branch has been meeting at the Sunrise Optimist Club since the late 1980’s. An opportunity to purchase a church building at auction has opened for us. Pictures of the building along with information regarding the property and location are attached. The auction begins July 31 and closes August 13. On Sunday, July 21, 2019, we voted to pursue placing a bid on the property. We have learned that the seller expects to accept a bid between $250,000 and $400,000. We hope to be able to offer a maximum bid of $300,00-350,000 in order to be competitive in the auction.

The Branch voted to apply an estimated amount of $170,000 toward a down payment on the building should we win the auction. Before making the decision to pursue this building, we surveyed the current members regarding anticipated contributions should we obtain the building. Pledges were given amounting to $2,150 per month. As a Branch, we decided we are comfortable setting aside $1,500 of this expected income towards a loan to cover the remainder of the cost of the building. This leaves us with $650 each month in addition to other donations that are received to apply toward operating costs and other Branch expenses.

This means that in order to post a competitive bid, we need to find a way to finance $150,000 - $180,000 by loan or donation.

The benefits we hope for in pursuing this opportunity include:

1. obtaining a sanctuary set apart for worship, prayer, education, and fellowship

2. obtaining more suitable class space for the youth

3. having a place where youth groups passing through or visiting can stay

4. having a space for outdoor worship and fellowship activities

5. expanding our outreach and invitation to the community to come unto Christ

6. creating a home and sense of permanence of the restored gospel in Columbia

7. strengthening the bonds of trust among our members and those branches who help us.

If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact me by phone or email. In order for us to include all possible commitments in our calculations of our maximum bid, we need to account for all commitments by August 11. We would not actually need the money until September 11.

Thank you for your interest and support, prayerful and otherwise. May God bless you and prepare us for the glorious return of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,
B.J. Schultz, on behalf of the Columbia Restoration Branch.
