CRE Statement of Encouragement to the Saints
Dear Brothers and Sisters,As part of the leadership of the Conference of Restoration Elders, recognizing and not representing ourselves as the voice, but only as a voice within the restoration branch movement, we offer the following words of encouragement and guidance.
In this time of unusual circumstances, more than ever, we need to continue to place our trust and hope in God. None of what is occurring in the world is a surprise to him. Now is not the time to succumb to fear and despair. As we and our families consider ways to worship our Lord, and respond to the coronavirus in our homes and communities, let’s remember that God is in charge of all things.
Some are wondering what to do in our current situation. The following are simple reminders of what our response should be:·
Stay close to the Lord – Pray and fast for one another.
Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice.Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be afflicted for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”·
Do not succumb to fear, or panic – trust God.
I John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love”.
DC 38:4c “Therefore, be ye strong from henceforth; fear not for the kingdom is yours: and for your salvation I give unto you a commandment, for I have heard your prayers”.·
Find safe ways to reach out and stay in touch with each other – particularly those who live alone.·
Offer support, in sensible ways, to those who are in need.
On a personal note, the love of God is all around us. He has created you out of His love for you, He sustains you with every breath you take, and He sent His Only Begotten Son to create a path for you to return to Him. What more do we need to know? The God of the universe has declared you are the most important thing to Him. You are His work and His glory. Be assured He hears your prayers. He has blessed you in times past, He will bless you through this current situation and He has in store blessings for what is to come. Once again, He calls to you – His disciple –“follow me”. Together let us walk the walk of faith.
May God be with each of you and your families in these portentous times.

Chairman of the Conference
