All 2020 Sessions Canceled Due to COVID-19
After thoughtful discussion, the Board of Directors of Owl Hollow Farm has regretfully decided not to resume activities due to the COVID-19 compliance recommendations. It would be extremely hard, if not impossible, to maintain sanitary procedures, including sterilizing buckets, halters, grooming supplies, reins etc. and all of the supplies shared by the students and mentors during sessions each night.
As you all know, our sessions require close proximity of volunteers, mentors and kids, making social distancing impractical and a safety hazard. We are also concerned about the health risks of wearing masks while being physically active in the heat for several hours. We do not want to put anyone at risk. Many of our students already have health risks, and we don't feel we can carry out sessions with enough precautions.
Therefore, we will plan to open again in the spring of 2021, barring no further COVID-related problems. As always, it is our prayer for safety and guidance as we move forward with plans for OHF. With the termination of 2020 sessions we feel it is certainly best to cancel our Fall Festival and Fun Show as well.
We trust all who read this will understand how tremendously sad this action makes us. Safety has always been a top priority at OHF, and we simply do not feel we can do any activities safely at this time. Prayers for continued health for all of you.
