FASTING PRAYING STUDYING AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

MAY 7, 2021

To all the dear Saints round the world, Greetings in the lovely name of Jesus Christ,

As we continue on the pathway toward the Kingdom of God, we realize that there are many factors involved in our lives and in the decisions we make as to how to live our lives and conduct ourselves in our daily walk. God is our Father and the Creator of all things. He has designed His creation to serve Him and to share in His Kingdom.

"And I, God created man in mine own image, in the image of mine Only Begotten created I him; male and female created I them." Genesis 1:29. Thus we have the beginning of mankind in the flesh, after all things had been created spiritually In the creation process, God formed Eve, the first woman from a rib of  Adam. They were told to "be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth..."  Eve was the first woman and thus the mother of the human race. So, this Sunday, May 9, 2021, in many countries of the world, we will give honor and praise to our mothers.

An old Jewish proverb indicates that God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers. We, of course, know that God not only can be, but is everywhere and mothers were designed to assist in His mighty plan. A little boy was told by his teacher in church that it was God who makes people good. He replied, "Yes, I know it is God , but mothers help a lot."

So, what does all this have to do with fasting, praying, studying, and living for the Kingdom of God? A lot of what we are or become, we owe to our parents, in many cases, our Mothers. I'm sure we all can remember times in our lives when Mom was always there to give us what we needed as we grew in life. The Church published a book in 1960 entitled, "Meet Them in the Scriptures." The book included a chapter entitled, "Mothers Who Inspired."  All mothers inspire one way or the other. Some for good and some for bad. We, of course, could list many, many names of good, righteous mothers. We will include one, by name and thousands of others by testimony of their sons.

The one is Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. Read her story in Luke 1:26-54. The thousands are unnamed, but referred to in Alma 26:52-57; and 94-104. As we discipline ourselves for the Kingdom, we have much to be thankful for and in many situations, it is our dear Mothers.

Mother is  word called Love and all the world is mindful of the love that's given and shown to others is different from The Love of Mothers. For Mothers play the leading roles in giving birth to little souls, for though "small souls" are heaven-sent, we realize they are only lent. It takes a Mother's loving hands to mold and shape this little life and shelter it through storm and strife. No other love than Mother Love could do the things required of the one to whom God gives the keeping of His wee lambs, awake or sleeping. So Mothers are a special race God sent to earth to take their place and Mother is a lovely name that every Mother is proud to claim.

THANK YOU MOM. ALL OUR LOVE.

God bless

Paul Gage
