LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD MARCH 24, 2022
Greetings to all the dear Saints around the world,
I pray and trust the Lord is blessing you wherever you live and serve Him,
Living in the Kingdom of God has a special "ring" to it. Some of our thoughts today, come from a book entitled, "Evan Fry; Illustrations from Radio Sermons" Edited and compiled by Norman D. Ruoff, Herald Publishing House, 1975. The first chapter in the book is entitled, "The Kingdom."
"Some people muddle through most or all of their lives without ever making any clean-cut decision as to what or who has first priority. They are forever hesitating between two decisions, trying to decide each individual issue on the basis of expediency rather than principle, forever uncertain as to just where they stand or what they believe."
Jesus commands us to give supreme priority to the Kingdom of God, as he stated in Matthew 6:38, "Seek ye first to build up the Kingdom of God and to establish His righteousness." That is where we find ourselves today, whoever we are, wherever we live, whatever our circumstances, in our daily walk of life, seeking to build up His Kingdom and establish His righteousness.
Brother Fry says that Jesus never even suggested that a man could divide his allegiance: Christ demands all or nothing. His Kingdom is more important than family, friends, position, wealth etc. Anything less than complete and total devotion to the Kingdom and to the King is fatal. He asks "What is the Kingdom of God and where is it? It exists in many places and in many ways. His kingdom was to be in the world but it was not to be of the world. It was to be composed of those who would willingly do on earth the will of the Father in heaven.
The Kingdom was then, and is now, available to all. Perhaps we have to wait for some aspects of it, but the Kingdom is available now. People must enter the Kingdom one at a time by renouncing the rebellion of the past, taking an oath of allegiance to the King, and living according to the King's laws-doing His will on earth as it is done in Heaven.
