Dennis Moe Obituary

Dennis Michael Moe, 71, finished his probationary time on this earth and returned to his heavenly father to begin a new, life-long adventure on April 24, 2022. He was born in Yakima, Washington on November 7, 1950 to Robert and Verl (Schrock) Moe and grew up on a farm near Pasco, Washington. Dennis graduated from Pasco High, and worked for Hilltop Farms and then Ice Harbor Farms as an irrigation manager.

Dennis met Nancy (Smith) Moe in 1994 and they were married on May 22nd. They gathered to Independence, MO shortly thereafter. Dennis developed a homestead near Buckner, Missouri with his wife Nancy and oldest daughter, Rebecca. In 2001 Dennis and Nancy welcomed their second daughter, Hannah.

Dennis opened and ran Missouri Dry Pak Cannery in 1999 and then became office manager of The Book of Mormon Foundation. While serving at The Book of Mormon Foundation, he became Chairman of the Board of Zion’s Cannery which he chaired for 15 years. He then worked for Midwest Material Management and Midwest Industrial Technologies until his retirement to his farm. Dennis loved to farm! One thing he and Nancy loved the most was their Concord grape vineyard, which they donated the produce to different branches of the church for use as sacrament wine. Dennis’ passion was serving his Savior Jesus Christ as an Elder in the Restoration Church. He pastored and served in multiple branches, and made his church home Zion’s Hope Restoration Branch in Sibley, MO. Dennis deeply loved God and His word and was an avid scholar and teacher for Jesus Christ. He authored many books and developed a church library with over 71,000 pieces, now owned and housed by The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Very loved by his family and friends, he leaves a legacy.

Preceding Dennis in death were his mother, Verl (Shrock) Moe and sister, Kristi (Moe) Rhymes. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Smith) Moe and daughter Hannah Moe, both of the home, daughter Rebecca (Kraatz) Wilson (John), grandchildren Connor and Rileigh Lasley, siblings Jerry Moe (Lupe), Gary Moe (Carol), Vickey (Moe) Azure, Barry Rhymes, father Robert Moe (Lois) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service honoring Dennis Moe on Sunday, May 15th, 3:00pm at Living Hope Restoration Branch, 2425 ½ S. Crysler Ave., Independence, MO 64052
