LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD DECEMBER 15, 2022

Greetings to all the Saints of God all over the world,

Well, another year is quickly drawing to a close. It is time to reflect on the memories of 2022 and project our thoughts about the new year. How has/is your “kingdom living” going? How will things be different in Zion? Will the life we are living now “qualify” for residence in Zion?

Psalm 15, has a sub-title which states; “The righteousness of Zion’s children. Verse one asks two extremely important questions. “Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill of Zion?” The rest of the Psalm answers those two questions.

I will let you read Psalm 15 to get the answers.

Sometimes it seems that “we” take things for granted. Are we “kingdom citizens” just because we were baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? Or just because we have our name on the roll of a Restoration Branch?

Will we gain entrance into Zion just because we attend church, pay our tithing, help at most of the church activities, etc.? Psalm 15 does not mention any of those things.

As we come to the end of 2022 and head into 2023, many people will be making “New Year’s resolutions.” I have heard that most people who make those resolutions have broken them by January 15th. Most of us have likely been in a wonderful, Spirit filled service and made a statement that we were going to change for the better. However, we often run into obstacles before we even get home from the service. An Elder was once asked why he never went to a reunion. He said, “You people go to a reunion and come home all fired up, but in a short time it is business as usual.” We do not have time for “business as usual.” Psalm 15 along with a multitude of other scriptures pretty well lays it out for us.

We realize that there are many interpretations on every aspect of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. One thing on which there should be no wavering is JESUS WAS BORN TO RECONCILE US TO GOD. Let us keep that fresh in our minds, hearts, and lives as we “live in the Kingdom of God.

God be with you
Paul Gage
