Rachel Marie Nichols Rachel Marie Nichols, 43, of Independence, MO, died on March 15, 2024. Rachel was born in Independence in 1980 to Richard and Rita Nichols. She was the second of four children. Rachel attended William Chrisman High School before receiving a bachelor’s degree in Restaurant and Food Service Management from Northwest Missouri State University. Rachel worked for Hi-Boy and the Raytown School District Nutrition Services before becoming an integral part of the team of employees to open the Independence Chic-fil-A, where she worked for 8 years. She later completed a Paralegal Certificate from Kaplan University and worked for Hovey Williams Law Firm for the past 7 years. Rachel was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She loved movies, music, cooking, quilting, storytelling, laughing, spending time with her family, supporting her nieces and nephews and giving gifts to others. She was joyful, bright, witty, and brought fun to any setting. She was a member of the RLDS church and served at many youth camps preparing meals for the campers and staff. Rachel enjoyed attending Royals games with friends and she absolutely loved the color orange. Rachel was preceded in death by grandparents Margaret & Wayne Smith and grandparents Juanita & Elihu Nichols, and is survived by her parents Richard & Rita Nichols, brother Ryan Nichols (wife Dianne and family), sister Riana Nichols, and brother Ross Nichols (wife Andrea and family), all of Independence, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024; 5:00-8:00pm at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052 Funeral service will be Friday, March 22, 2024; 1:00pm at Parkview Community of Christ 801 SW 19th Street, Blue Springs, MO 64015 Graveside Service to follow for family only. To honor Rachel, family and friends are invited to wear her favorite color orange. |
