Patriarch Thank You Letter
March 8, 2019
Dear Saints,
Once again, I want to share with you the blessings the Lord extended to us as
Brother Ballantyne and I went to Kenya. I need to repeat “how does one
adequately express the gentle, quiet spirit that is here with us?” It was only the
gentle, quiet spirit that made it possible for Brother Ballantyne to give 37
patriarchal blessings in a ten-day time period. Your faithfulness in offering many,
many prayers for this ministry helped make this possible.
Most of the patriarchal blessings were given in the compound where Eric and Pam
Odida live in Kisumu, and where we stayed for the majority of our time in Kenya.
Also in the compound is a gatehouse, which is often referred to as the Missionary
House, right inside the entrance of the compound. Most of the blessings were
given in this small house.
Blessings were given to members actively engaged in the work of the kingdom: to
youth, to women, and to men. It appeared to me that these recipients were
Saints from many branches scattered around Kenya. What a joy it was for me to
see many of the Saints I have known over the years as they came to receive their
blessing.
Saints, each of us—Eric Odida, Doug Smith, Michael Ballantyne, and myself—all
have a strong testimony that this ministry was arranged and sustained by the
Lord. We believe the giving of these patriarchal blessings will not only greatly
benefit each recipient in his or her walk with the Lord, but also spill over and
invigorate the work among our members in East Africa.
We all extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of this ministry with your
prayers and finances.
The Saints of East Africa send their love,
Lyle Smith
PS: On Sunday, March 17th at 6:30 pm at the Oak Grove Restoration Branch,
