Last week as our new director Emmily was in the very poor village of Kisinji, she was approached by a "well wisher" who knew that Emmily was from our Youth Home. The villager told her about 3 children that had been living on the street after the death of their father. The mother had died in 2016 of a Heart Attack and had therefore been left in the care of by their father.
In 2019, he had gone to the hospital with Malaria and died while there.
There were no living relatives that had the means to take in 3 children so these three lived on the streets and were given food by "well wishers" when they were able.
Emmily brought them back to the Youth Home that very day.
These three are greatly traumatized and will need lots of love and attention. Emmily says that the youngest one, Elesi, is especially so.
Usually, when the Youth Home brings in children we try to have accommodations for them ahead of time. This time however, we did not have time. They all need beds, mattresses, bedding, pillows, clothing, medical care, mosquito nets, tableware etc.
It was perfect timing when an anonymous donor came to me to say he would match any donations brought in to Give Back Hope before the 1st of the year up to $1,000.00
If you are thinking of sponsoring a child or giving a one time donation your efforts could be doubled.
All three of these children and several more still need sponsors.
God Bless you all and have a very happy and prosperous New Year!
