IIAW Volunteering May 2023
Hello, IIAW and Unity Center Friends,
Because of many activities going on in May, we will not be doing our IIAW Neighborhood Clean Up from the Unity Center this Saturday. However, we do encourage IIAW volunteers to participate in the Mayor's Trash Pick Up event beginning at the parking lot of the Independence Academy, 600 W. Mechanic Avenue, Independence, MO. The time will be 9 - 11am, Saturday, May 13th. Bags will be provided. Bring grabbers and gloves.
The Mayor will pick up along Bess Truman Parkway and McCoy Park area. Mayor Rowland's last Clean Up at Rotary Park was great fun! Water and donuts were provided. Some grabbers were provided and handy bag openers were available. Mayor Rowland was on hand to do his part, along with many city council members. I encourage all to participate in this great event to benefit our community. It is a very good thing.
